Set your curd with raisins

  • Set your curd with raisins and have it as a mid-meal - Guideline 6 of the 12-week fitness project 2023.
The beauty of dadi ma’s tradition is that it combines really simple things found in the kitchen to produce really effective remedies. One such combination is setting curd with raisins. Here is the process -
    • Take a bowl of warm milk preferably fresh and full fat
    • Add 4-5 raisins to it (preferably black raisins)
    • Take a small drop of dahi, even better buttermilk, and add that to the milk
    • Stir it multiple times (grandmothers say 32 times)
    • Cover it with a lid and set it aside for up to 8-12 hrs
    • When the top layer appears thick, the curd is ready to eat
    • Have it with lunch or as a mid-meal 3-4pm post lunch
Curd acts as a probiotic and the raisins with their high content of soluble fibre as a prebiotic. Together they -
    - neutralise the bad bacteria,
    - promote the growth of good bacteria,
    - reduce the inflammation in the intestines,
    - keep your teeth and gums healthy,
    - good for the bones and joints too.
Curd is also a well-documented intervention for regulating cholesterol levels, reducing BP and promoting weight loss. It works that much better in the elderly and the young as it prevents constipation and makes it easy to chew on raisins.

Also with green chilly without stem removed. 1 is enough for that amt of milk.

@@Anione111 nope ... atleast take half teaspoon of curd & stir it once & let it set... Temperature of milk varies from weather to weather...Here in North summers it takes only 4-5 hours to set completely

Thanks so much Rujutaji for your advice.
While setting curd people should realise that a spoon of home made curd (broken down well before adding to warm milk) is the only way u can get good curd.
You cannot make curd at home with store bought curd.
Another way is to take quarter glass of warm milk and add equal quantity of broken down store bought curd and let it set for two days.
Repeat after two days with this curd.
Repeat again with just a little bit of this curd and u will get perfect curd.
Save a bit of this curd everyone to set fresh curd.
