I've grasped the concept of making my own granola, but to see it done, how simple it really is to put together, and knowing I have everything I need right now to make this, I think I am going to make it happen in the next couple of days.As always it is so good to see you! Love & BIG HUGS to you Stace!
Will definitely try this for my next batch. I have been making a similar one which was Alison Holsts Munchy Muesli, for many years. I also add dried apple. Thank you so much for all you are doing. Looking forward to the frozen fruit video as I have a stack of blackberries and apples in the freezer. My two sisters and i are avid fans of your channel. I have decided you are the new 'Alison Holst', and that is high praise indeed. Really appreciate your work. From Southland.
I love that you are an Alison Holst fan, it makes me so happy. She was an amazing cook I looked up to while growing up. I still have a few of her books. The fact you have said what you have blows my mind. Such a lovely compliment. Thank you so much X
I love how you said you knew your 'friends ' would want the recipe. Ive heard other TH-camrs say friends but it seems like just a word to them. Have a good day. Looks like summer is here in south east Queensland .
That gave me a warm feeling, too. I had just written a post about Stacy on my Facebook page where I said she feels like a friend, so it's nice to know she feels that way, too.
We first learnt how to make granola at Intermediate School in 1980's Rotorua. I haven't made it for years. Thanks for the motivation. After the granola is baked & cooled, add freshly popped & cooled popcorn. If the granola is too sweet after baking - you can add store bough Puff wheat, Rice bubbles or Cornflakes.
Granola also works as a crumble with a little melted butter mixed in. Have been making it for years and for breakfast I put it over fresh fruit salad and muesli. Excellent recipe 😊
Perfect timing! I made far too much rolled oat crumble topping for last nights dessert so I was wondering what to do with the left over crumble mix. After seeing this, I'll make a mini batch of granola out of it to use as a topping for yogurt and porridge etc. Thanks so much Stacey
Thank you for this recipe. Bought granola/muesli is sooo expansive , so it really pays to make it ourselves. Not to mention how we can make it with ingredients we like and know these are good. Cheers!
Google oil New Zealand grown and made awesome cold pressed oil. No hydrogenating chemicals ( ie dry cleaning type oil to extract oil yuk) it is also a high temp oil so can be used where you can use olive oil. Support local 😊
I like cinnamon and coconut oil in my granola. My recipe is quite similar to yours Stacey, but I cook on 170-180 for 20 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
Hello Stacey, I really enjoy your videos, which are so interesting, helpful and relatable. I was told by a nutritionist that in order for your body to digest and benefit from the many qualities of flax or linseeds, you must freshly grind these just before use. If you don’t, they just pass through without any benefit. A small electric coffee grinder does a wonderful job! Thanks again for your lovely channel.
been making my own museli /granola for years - i just poured the wet ingredients over the oats and baked - your way of sorting out the wet ingredients then mixing them in combined is so much better - will be doing that from now on- Its also something that I can use all the dehydrated fruit we make in .
Looks like a good easy recipe. I used to make it without oil or honey/syrup. Instead I whizzed apple juice and dates together for sweetness then toasted and dried in oven , these also made nice clusters
Definitely going to give this a go, I love granola. One thing though, you should blitz the flax seed before you add it or else you won't be getting any of those good omegas as it doesn't digest whole.
This looks SO delicious! I made a big batch of granola a few years ago and included it in a basket of homemade goodies I gave as Christmas gifts to my friends. It was a big hit, so maybe it's time to repeat myself with your excellent recipe. I doubt anyone complains. Thanks so much for this one!
Hi Stacey, I love granola and have been making it for a while. Mine uses similar ingredients but also has sourdough discard, which makes it clump up nicely without using so much of the sweet or oily ingredients, plus an extra layer of flavour and even more nutrition. I serve it with homemade muesli, fresh fruit, and yoghurt. Very best wishes for the births of your grandbabies! I hope everything goes smoothly for you all.
Really looking forward to trying this Stacey. I love how customisable the recipe is and I'm an absolute sucker for those clusters (delicious with a cuppa instead of a biscuit too). Such a great, nutritious hospital gift. All the best to your family and the TWO new arrivals.
I recently made granola for the first time , my recipe called for rice bubbles as well as the oats , didn’t have any , put in cornflakes instead , it was delicious ,
Kia ora! Someone mentioned in a comment. I read that you have a premix for scones that you make up ready to go. Is this on a video or do you have a recipe somewhere, please? Many thanks 🍃
Oh my goodness , you have made it look so Delicious, that I am going to be making it often . Thank You so much. God Bless You and your family and friends.
Thank you! I have been looking for a good granola recipe and I think this is it! Also, congratulations on all the new 'littles' in your life. I'm such an empty nester right now... oy... 😭 Much love from chilly NW Ontario Canada.
Fellow kiwi here ❤ is there any easy way to ask questions about content on your website? I'd really love to know where and what to buy in the way of probiotic so I can make your coconut yogurt. My 3yr old is dairy free but coconut yogurt is WAY expensive! He will appreciate your helpful tips 💗🙏🏻
Looks delicious! Thought of making granola for a long time but so far have never done it! Mostly because I never seem to have the ingredients to do so and then forget about it! 😂 Will have to try to stock up and give it a go! I also need to make more yogurt, usually use the instant pot to do it but haven't made any of that for a while either! Thank you for your video's x
Hi Stacey, my Husband loved homemade granola and I could buy ginger syrup and he loves ginger so I mixed ginger syrup and maple syrup together, so nice he said. Sadly I can’t find the ginger syrup anymore. Yours looks so yum
Hi Stacey l can see my children would love this as well this would be a grab & snack as they get out the door. I have tried museli bars family enjoys having it again saves us having to buy store bought ones thank you look forward to more vidz
You wouldn't believe it I spoke to my family that I was going to make granola and muesli bars just the other day and here you are making granola and going to make muesli bars....wow!!! The supermarkets have got rid of the granola I like and the muesli bars are not that good either...cannot find a nice one or one that does not have other grimmlies in it...am going to make quiches and pizza's also...thanks a mill
Good morning from Pukekohe Stacey! Thanks for a lovely video, " she'll be right" 😂. It looks yummo, and I can't wait to try it. I hope everything goes smoothly for your daughter's deliveries of 2 special baby grand babies.❤❤❤❤❤
When ever my honey crystallises, I just heat it up in the mircowave until it is bubbling and all melted back together - it gets rid of all the crystals
Hi Stacey, one of my friends gave me a very large can of creamed corn, what kind of soup could I make with it, I want to have some soup meals ready and waiting in the freezer for a night I don't feel like cooking.
Similar recipe to yours (maybe a year since I last made it) except I used organic coconut oil instead of sunflower oil and organic brown rice syrup instead of honey. So much cheaper to make from scratch than buying it already made!
Ring your local branch, some don't require you to have a card. There are other online stores like Davis Trading and Bidfoods. Bin Inn is also good to get bulk deals from.
Yes, but I prefer my little one behind the fridge. The instant pot could do it as well but I love I can just chuck everything into a mason jar then straight to the fridge afterwards
If you like the clumps in your granola you can stir a lightly whisked egg white into the mixture before it goes in the oven, it will help get the clumps you like.
Oh, I'm impatient to try this, but first I need to use up the store-bought I have on hand. That’s going to take a while, because I did that thing where you see you're running low, so you buy a backup, only to discover when you put it away that you'd already bought a backup and then forgot. 🙃🤷♀️ At least it was on sale. I converted this into ounces and did a price check in US dollars. It came out to about 42 ounces. The store-bought equivalent ranges in price from US $0.66 to $1.00 per ounce, so roughly US$20 to $42 for this amount.
It's suggested you try for 30 or more different fruits and vegetables (which also includes seeds and grains and herbs and spices) a week. Looks like you will get that in one bowl for breakfast. 🎉
Gee Stace, I'm not a granola sort of bloke, but I still watched the entire video simply because you're my favourite youtuber !! 👍👍👍
You’re so kind, you’re a legend yourself, it means so much to me. 😊
Haha, right?!
I love the “she’ll be right” measuring in recipes 😊
Yes, I am a huge fan of "she'll be right" cooking! hahaha
Yummo!! Looking forward to the Muesli bar recipe. All the best with your new grand babies. Such a blessing. 😊
I am so excited to get the muesli bars recipe ready and thanks for your lovely wishes for my new grandbabies, they are so amazing!
I've grasped the concept of making my own granola, but to see it done, how simple it really is to put together, and knowing I have everything I need right now to make this, I think I am going to make it happen in the next couple of days.As always it is so good to see you! Please let me know if you like it. Love right back at you XX
Day off tomorrow and can't wait to make a batch, thanks for another good recipe.
The good oil need to send ya some thank you goodies! I have just purchased my first bottle after your recommendations ❤
Thank you so much for sharing! I've never made granola before but really looking forward to trying this!

Thanks Stacey, I grow lots of fruit and dry them, this is ideal to use, I use dried rhubarb, and my favourite is dried greengage, ideal for this
I like using Sunflower oil, cold pressed as well. Great recipe. I will make this. I like it on my homemade yogurt. Thank you
I'm so glad you are going to give it a go, it goes great with yogurt!
Thank you for this recipe. Bought granola/muesli is sooo expansive , so it really pays to make it ourselves. Not to mention how we can make it with ingredients we like and know these are good. Cheers!
You are most welcome :-)

Wow, that is a great tip! I am so glad you love the channel.
This is correct. I use a coffee grinder. I also partially grind sunflower and pumpkin seeds.

You are so kind, thank you for your lovely message.
Good oil rape seed (canola) has a very high smoke poke so a good frying oil😊
Hi Stacey, my Husband loved homemade granola and I could buy ginger syrup and he loves ginger so I mixed ginger syrup and maple syrup together, so nice he said. Sadly I can’t find the ginger syrup anymore. Yours looks so yum
I love making homemade granola
/musli.
Your recpie seems delish, I'll have to give it a go. I've never thought of using butter.
I'm so glad you are going to try it, butter really makes a difference!
Looks like a keeper! 😊
Certainly is :-)
yum!!! never made granola before, but I'm tempted to try
Give it a go and let me know how it goes!
Looks delicious 🎉❤
Thank you :-)
😊😊
Thank you for this recipe, I can’t wait to try it. Everything is so expensive today.
I hope you love it!
Hi Stacey l can see my children would love this as well this would be a grab & snack as they get out the door. I have tried museli bars family enjoys having it again saves us having to buy store bought ones thank you look forward to more vidz
I am so glad you think your children will enjoy it. I'm currently tweaking the muesli bars as well :-)
Im going to make this. Looks so yum.
thank you, let me know what you think :-)
@FarmersWifeHomestead will do. I'm just missing the honey so will have to get that before I make it.
Love it! Will give this a go!❤
Enjoy!

Yummy 😊in my Tummy!
hehehehe it sure is :-)

Good morning from aucks ...
Good morning :-)
i made it this morning and it IS so good
THANK YOU 🥄🍒
Wow, that was super fast. I am so pleased you enjoyed it X
@ i was actually not up that long, still in my pj’s and made it straight away, i halved the recipe … it’s super easy and fabulous balance 🙏
How long can you keep the granola stored? Does the addition of butter seem to shorten the shelf life? It looks amazing!
I think it will be fine for quite some time. My first batch didn't last long but if you are worried you could just use the oil :-)
You can make yogurt easy in your InstantPot.
Yes, but I really like to make it up in just a jar :-)
@@FarmersWifeHomestead you can put the jars in the instantpot
Looks good
thank you :-)
Hi Stacey, one of my friends gave me a very large can of creamed corn, what kind of soup could I make with it, I want to have some soup meals ready and waiting in the freezer for a night I don't feel like cooking.
One of my most favorite soups is a corn chowder I will link the video here.

Similar recipe to yours (maybe a year since I last made it) except I used organic coconut oil instead of sunflower oil and organic brown rice syrup instead of honey. So much cheaper to make from scratch than buying it already made!
I bet it is delicious as well my friend :-)
When I add dried fruit I do it after I toasted the mix because I find it makes the fruit too hard 😊
It's ok in this recipe because it is at a lower heat. The fruit stays nice and moist :-)
I do the same with the fruit, after baking and cooling and use coconut oil instead of butter and oil. I agree this kind of granola is the best!
This looks so good. I'm wondering how to get bulk foods thru Gilmours . Can anyone purchase bulk foods thru them ?
Ring your local branch, some don't require you to have a card. There are other online stores like Davis Trading and Bidfoods. Bin Inn is also good to get bulk deals from.
@FarmersWifeHomestead Thanku so much..Definitely will make your granola
I like cinnamon in mine. Been meaning to make more.
Yes, that is a lovely addition. :-)
Hey Stacey, I’m not sure if I can get that oil in Australia, can you tell me what sort of oil it is. Thank you
The one I used is cold-pressed sunflower oil. Any neutral oil will work though :-)
I just brought a pink Christmas tree today 💗 since its getting near Christmas 🎄 lol
Is it the one in Kmart? I cant wait to put up the decorations this year :-)
I may or may not have brought a kitchen size one for this year Hahahaha
@@FarmersWifeHomestead😂
You can make yoghurt in the tmx6 thermomix .
Yes, but I prefer my little one behind the fridge. The instant pot could do it as well but I love I can just chuck everything into a mason jar then straight to the fridge afterwards
Hi Stacey!! Great video. Question: what camera do you use to film? And what editing program do you use??
Hello, I have a Canon Mark 2 EOS 200. I also use Clipchamp as I needed something very basic.
Thanks for sharing. Il def be trying this . Fantastic channel Stacey x
Was that manuka honey, Tracey. Nice "brown" color.
No just field honey. I think we have amazing honey here.
If you like the clumps in your granola you can stir a lightly whisked egg white into the mixture before it goes in the oven, it will help get the clumps you like.
I didn't want to use eggs as many people have allergies. The method works very well that I used in the video. Thanks for the suggestion though :-)

Oh gosh, that is interesting about the prices! LOL about the extras. You might have to serve a side of granola with every meal hahaha
@FarmersWifeHomestead 😄😄
I should add that none of the ones available at my supermarket had nearly as many seeds, nuts, and fruit as yours.
Since you added more nuts and coconut dry ingredients , you will need to add more wet ingredients . Instead of nuts can I use raisin?
No, it was fine. I used the usual recipe. Absolutely swap out the nuts for more fruit if you wish. :-)
How many cups of nuts/seeds/extras in total are there so I can customise what I put in?
The full recipe is on my website :-)
or you can find the link in the description of this video
It's suggested you try for 30 or more different fruits and vegetables (which also includes seeds and grains and herbs and spices) a week. Looks like you will get that in one bowl for breakfast. 🎉
Yes, it's a great way to get all those nutrients into your day :-)
I must've missed it but what temperature and how long in the oven?
All the details are in the recipe on the website :-)
Thank you
Good oil not google darned predictive text !!!😊
It is so annoying when that happens, isn't it? 😂
Yum
