Hi from Pukekohe Stacey! I watched this as per your suggestion. Love it. Looks yum. We have pav, fruit salad, and Christmas pud. I use a pud recipe given to me by a lady in her late 80s. She got it from HER grandmother. It is delicious. I make several and give them as gifts and freeze the rest for Midwinter! ❤❤❤❤❤

Just back from the hairdressers (in early to avoid December rush!) which interrupted me finishing the handmade aprons for 3+3 grandkids, and 4 neighbourhood children. They'll each get a jar of cookie/brownie dry mix, their apron, a Christmas spatula and a gift card to cover the ingredients not included. These are all for December 1st instead of a Christmas Eve (or similar) box. I intend to be your chief recipe tester for 2, its just us this year, 2 sons out of the country, 1 pernanently in Canada, the other backpacking across 12 European countries and my daughters family are at the in laws xx

We have always used instant pudding instead of custard in the trifle. Strawberry usually. Yours looks amazing!

There’s nothing I love like carols by candlelight. My suggestions would be White Christmas slice, yummy, no or low cook Christmas dinner (maybe make ahead), a using leftovers special video. Thanks.

Just heating my oven and dutch oven while watching this for my first sourdough loaf! Ive tried the crackers and they were amazing (butter is definitely the way to go, oil seemed drier) i chopped up some walnuts, pumkin and sunflower seeds and mixed them in the wet mixture with a pinch of garlic and cumin powder and black pepper, the dough mixture also makes a good "thin and crispy" pizza too. Ive also tried the deep fried doughnuts on homegrown happiness page and they were so good, i made the normal doughnuts with the holes and also sandwiched some peanut butter and chocolate with some dough for a gooey center.

Would you believe that when I ordered my grocery shop last night I actually bought an Aeroplane Creamy Mousse Mix Chocolate Flavour sachet to try. So now I have a recipe & I will be making it for one!! So next fortnight I will add the frozen cherries to my order & would have ordered them this week only they had dragon fruit on special!! In the meantime I will peruse youtube for a gluten free chocolate mud slice or maybe check out Woolies to see if they sell the packaged ones you make up. I already have the vanilla dessert sachets in my pantry that I purchased this time last year & still haven't used so maybe some thing creative with them as well using cherries! Christmas tradition was yummy homemade christmas puddings until 1988 when I became single again. Later my brother used to join me & so I made sticky date pudding which I also LOVE. Then from around 2015 I was asked to make my trifle for the two men which was a woman's weekly recipe from the late 1960s. In 2020 I started having christmas with half my family whom I live with & so we added pavlova to the trifle. Last year my g/daughter took over the Christmas dessert menu so who knows what we will have this year. As a family they always celebrated christmas day at their granddads, so have no personal tradition plus my daughter definitely doesn't like christmas or the bother of cooking & entertaining at all. So opposite to me!! Traditionally since I was a child we have always had salads for lunch with cold baked chicken, plus usually ham over the past number of years as my son-in-law was given one from his boss but this changed so now & we have a barbeque. I started buying some prawns & making cocktails for my son-in-law & myself as we are the only two who like them. We give presents in the morning, then depending on schedules now that the grandkids are adults we may have lunch together or possibly tea at 6 pm. This year I am going to attempt to make an (Australian Pineapple fruit cake). I saw it on youtube a couple of days ago & thought it sounded interesting & it is easy to make - actually the recipe sounds very similar to the keep a week fruit cake recipe my mother passed onto me 50 plus years ago as I love fruit cake as does my son-in-law.

We usually have fresh fruit salad, ice cream,trifle,pav.And sometimes make something new. As I’m watching this in 2024. Might do this think all the family would like it. It’s a bit different.

As much as I’ve always wanted to experience a white Christmas, I believe we are so blessed to have a summer Christmas, as you say the fresh fruit is so abundant and it’s mango season so lots desserts with mangoes, berries etc. and the beach, barbecues, and because we live in very sunny Queensland, air conditioning! Congratulations to your daughter’s on the safe arrival of their baby girls.

Lovely video Stacey. We do the "everyone brings a couple of dishes" type Christmas day. I'm lucky as most of the family loves my salads and Salmon gravlax. So lots of prep but not much cooking. I'm also doing a marmalade glazed ham this year. Even that's pretty easy. If you come up with something that looks totally yum! I'll probably do that as well. Cheers!

Yes I can’t wait for the Christmas content Stacey. Have got both daughters and partners and toddler grandson for the first time! So looking forward to it but need ideas. If you’re looking for any content I’m looking for left over ideas and meals for the week that they’re all here. Going to try the choc trifle because I hate custard so I never eat it.
