    The worst thing the loved ones can do is lying. Doesn't matter for what reason even if they're just trying to be positive and cheer you up.
    -Is my hairline receding?
    -No, it's fine.
    -Is that a NW6?
    -No, you look great!

    @haircafekevin I really appreciate the videos you publish in your channel. It is unfortunate that, when you started your balding, there was barely any quality information out there, so you had to try and fail many times. Surely more than people starting today. I appreciate your time investment in doing extensive and qualitative research. You were one of the first people that convinced me to start Finas when I was balding in my early 20's. Gracias!

    Incredibly articulate and informative video...really appreciate the insights and sharing your personal experience Kevin.
    I've battled hair loss for 20+ years, also with a hair transplant that didn't take...so fighting on with another procedure just recently.
    Also, completely agree about the jerks telling you not to worry and to just shave it - people with hair will never have empathy, and the ones who are bald just want miserable company!
    ...and SO TRUE about how people treat you with less respect when you're bald/balding. I've seen both sides, and the difference is night and day!!

    • @AC-fp7ns
      @AC-fp7ns 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why do you think your first transplant didn't take? I ask because I am researching for my first HT.
      I hope your second procedure bared more fruit.

    • @wolfchild22
      @wolfchild22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AC-fp7ns Thanks for your well wishes - I think it was a combination of factors. Firstly, I have very fine frizzy hair, which a HT specialist has told me recently, takes a specific technique to implant, rather than just jamming it in. Secondly, I have some chronic skin issues - like psoriasis...and I have a suspicion that the new implants would have copped a beating from my immune system. I've tried multiple times. Thirdly, and probably the final nail in the coffin, was the scar tissue created by multiple initial attempts, made it very difficult to grow hair in the area again.

    Great video! I've been taking finasteride and minoxidil combined for almost 4 years (I'm 23 now). The only "effects" happening to me was that my hair got thicker again, regrew and stopped falling out. Might be because I started in an early stage of hair loss. Anyway I'm grateful for the possibilities we have today. And before shaving it I'd rather save up some money for a hair transplant!

      @@colin9722 No, atleast not due to my daily precedure but just in a natural way while growing into adulthood. Since men tend to grow rather thin beards in my family, I'd find it difficult to do anything besides shaving it. My father on the other hand who's partially bald (crown and temples) managed to get a nice thick mustache in his 30s and has never taken anything related to hairloss preventation. There are certain beard groth products though (I think also something like minoxidil) but I haven't really looked into it.

      The problem isn't that the person who has found the cure doesn't want to share; the problem is when you ask people to use Finasteride and Minoxidil, they go on the Internet and just pay attention to the side-effects (which may or may not be true but definitely highlighted to a huge extent). There just isn't enough energy left to deal with such people as we already have suffered enough before discovering the magic potion and the pill!

    I took Dutasteride a few years back in 2002-2004. I had a doctor friend who prescribed to me. Started in April last year again; I live part time in Brazil and there Dutasteride (Avodart) is an over-the-counter drug! No prescription needed. One of the side effects I've noticed is reduced amount of body hair growth. It's super super slow. This is consistent with some of possible side effects so I don't think I*m imagining it - the effect is quite profound.

      Men generally age better than women providing they take good care of themselves. (Women have thinner skin and less collagen types so their skin breaks down at a faster rate than it can rebuild earlier than men). If a man does three of the basic things, he can easily look good and fairly young well into his 50’s, in my opinion. Those three things are: 1) Prevent hair loss, 2) maintain healthy and fit weight, and 3) take of your skin (healthy diet, sleep, using sunblock, retin-A, etc.)
      High DHT ages you faster too I theorize. So Finasteride can help make you look younger, in my opinion.

    I think the important thing is to read the research and to realise that Finasteride has been used for decades by millions of people with very low levels of side effects (In 2016 it was the 75th most prescribed medication in the United States with more than 10 million prescriptions.), in fact it only slightly higher side effects were shown from the placebo group in the studies. Sure there are people who experience them, just like some people have reactions to aspirin as you say in your video. When I looked into all this and watched videos like yours I realised the risk is very very low and have been on it a few weeks with zero side effects myself. I am a very slow diffuse thinner on top with still decent coverage at 47 years old, so hopefully this will slow down or stop it and maybe thicken up the areas with thinner hair. I think it's important that people like you make videos to show that it's not a instant death sentence to your libido or muscle mass or fitness etc. Keep up the logical and scientific thinking!

    I live in Europe and in a few days I start minoxidil and in one month I have an appointment with a Dermatologist. I hope the doc actually gives me finasteride. I'm a thick NW 2/2,5 right now and it doesn't really progress badly and even my Dad had that hair for a long time. I don't want to risk it tho. Maybe I wait the few weeks until the appointment and see if I get finasteride. It's just that I'm getting minoxidil in a few days and I'm eager to try it. Btw your hair looks great. You probably don't even know the ease of mind you give to some people. How many years are you on oral finasteride?
    For how long time the high libido was existed for you ?
    When did you fully returned to the same libido levels as before starting oral fin ?
    Are you periodically (e.g. once or twice a year) taking breaks from oral fin e.g. for about 2-3 weeks?
    Where have you done your hair transplants and what is the satisfaction rate regarding the naturalness, density, donor management?

      1. About 10 years consistently and then on and off several years before then.
      2. I still have a high libido, even in my fourties. It never went away.
      3. Libido never diminished. Early on I gave myself a nocebo effect due to rampant fear mongering but that was in my head.
