Took finasteride 2 years ago in dire desperation with having read all the side effects users experienced on the hairloss forums. Lo and behold, I experienced all these so-called “side effects” just short of 3 weeks and eventually discontinued. A year later I decided to give it another shot after coming across Kevin’s videos. It’s been 10 months, I’ve had fantastic results and absolutely no side effects. The nocebo effect is more powerful than we know. Thanks Kevin, you’re the Mann.

Just wanted to thank you Kevin, I started Fin/min this week. 1mg oral fin and 5% topical min once at night. I've had long hair all my life, and watching it thin on top has been gruesome. I'm probably going to shave it bald this summer just to see what it looks like, but this will only applying minox easier 😁 Excited to see it grow back afterwards.
Edit: One of the things I was hung up on was having to take this every day for the rest of my life. But you do this with brushing your teeth anyways. And it doesn't even take long to apply minox. And if you don't fight it and shave your head, you gotta do that every few days anyways!

I’m 34, I first started noticing some thinning of my hair about two years ago. I started doing some research and came across finasteride. I was terrified of the side effects I read online and it took me almost a year to built up the courage and go ahead and start using finasteride, but I must thank you for you’re videos, cause you gave me some solid information based on your experience with finasteride. I’m so glad to have started using it before I lost too much ground. My natural hairline is still in tact and planning to keep it that way. I was also shedding for the first 6 months of using finasteride. But now the shedding has slowed down and I’m noticing some thickening. Btw, I have not experienced any side effects. I started thinning at the age of 27 when I had my first son. I think part of the loss is from stress and just plain male pattern baldness. I had my second son 3 years later and now 34 years old. I'm 6'7' and which means must people didn't see my thinning. I've started Finasteride and minoxidil 6 months ago and when I started seeing results within 2 months. My hair dresser claims my hair growth is back at the levels pre kids. After 6 months my hair has definitely returned back to my 20's before kids. I believe I was the perfect candidate for this treat as I wasn't bald but just thinning. I have had zero side effects and my results are almost to good to be true. I have great before and after photos that show the amazing regrowth. Thanks for the info Kevin and I hope my success story can help other people.

You have a great head of hair, looks very thick with no visible hair loss at the front as far as I can see. I do however disagree with your point about bald guys being seen as less attractive to women, some guys will admittedly not suit being bald but some actually look better bald, it all depends on the individual’s facial features, head size and body type. I personally know quite a few bald men who have a girlfriend or wife that is a 8/9/10 in the looks department, also seen tons on Instagram ect. The whole “women won’t like me if I’m bald” argument just seems to be out of ones own insecurity in my opinion. Obviously if you’re bald or going bald and are visibly insecure about it then it’ll have a negative impact on your dating game, but from what I’ve seen if you just own it with confidence then it won’t matter. Besides, if you were bald and there is a particular woman you’re wanting to shoot your shot with and she ignored or rejected you purely over the fact that you were bald, why would you even want to be with her anyway? There’s a high chance she would just cheat on you or throw you away once a more attractive guy comes a long. Some women will care about hair but most don’t care, there are also some women that are into the bald look. I think it just comes down to personal preference, too many guys care more about females opinions on them than they do about their own opinion on themselves

Mezmoh apparently the problem really starts when you took it long and go off.
      Bcs dehydrotestosteron has many uses.
If you block it receptors of follow up products get very sensible and if dht comes back you experience a real shock.
Atleast thats what i heard from a german hormon treatment guy right now on youtube.

But, assuming you are german, if you search on youtube for post finasterid syndrom and treatment etc, you will find a few vids from doctors and this hormon guy.
But the reasoning from him was, i think, the receptors became sensitive bcs of the lack of dht and if you dont ease off especially and just go from like 20/30% of whats normal to 100% or sth thats a shock. Guess its like they always say about coffee and decreasing effect with increasing caffein consume.
Bcs of more receptors etc, just vice versa.
Another dude argued that apparently sometimes ppl have increased testosterone or thats even the norm. With fin i mean.
So when you ease off or just go cold turkey, which is really dumb anyway looking at it from all directions, you may end up with some temporary sides...
These permanent sides are probably not fin related at all. Cause it really makes no sense.
Its the nocebo and ppl just blaming a pill for all their mental and physical problems and in the us and even europe also financial interests of course.
I think ashton kutcher, who was on the more potent dutasteride(?)/avodart, talked about that. He apparently had lowered test for like half a year +, after quitting, and it went back up afterwards.

Finasteride has a short half life, only a few hours but it outright kills DHT and it can take 48 to 72 hours before DHT returns to baseline levels so in theory it could be just as effective but I cannot say for certain.

I've done tons of research on T and DHT before taking finasteride and I'm now on the drug because I found it's a safe drug. However, I'm still left with one question. What IS DHT responsible for in adult males, it seems very hard to find any information about that. My only guess is sexual function because we know about the sideeffects that some men get from finasteride but I'm not sure...

    • @subie1019
      @subie1019 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Souli DHT is an androgen(male sex hormone). However it is not the main androgen, the main androgen is testosterone. People who get side effects often have Low testosterone or high estrogen(female sex hormone),when you have Low testosterone your body depend on other androgens such as dht for sexual function. Most people have sufficient testosterone to support their sexual functions even without dht especially those in dutasteride which reduces dht by more than 90%.

    • @haircafekevin

I think even endocrinologist don't know for sure. It could play a small role in spermatogenesis as some people who use fin will have reduced sperm count but even that is a rare side effect so if it does play a role we likely only need very little DHT to maintain fertility.
I think men still producing so much DHT into adult hood is likely just an evolutionary accident much like wisdom teeth. Evolution is definitely not perfect.

    • @JamesFT

Yeah, for sure. Fin actually has a short half life but it outright kills DHT and it takes a couple days to recover.
