@@KambotroutFishing yeah I miss FL right now especially! I've been in the NC foothills for 5 years and in February I plan to move to VA Beach. FL is awesome but VA lets people grow stinky little plants legally. And there's good fishin'. I like it there.
Under the "Gear you used" you listed a 2022 Hobie, sure looks to me like you are in a OT Predator PDL. I noticed that as that's what I'm looking at buying. How does it compare to the Hobie in your opinion?
Great question. I’ve had the Hobie PA12 360 for a few months now. Best kayak I’ve ever used.
OT Predator is a solid kayak as well, but noticeably less stable that the PA12, and you have more space and storage in the PA12.
The PA12 is the superior kayak, no doubt. Really comes down to if it’s worth the price differential for you.

I should be moving to the VA Beach area in February and I will have to try to catch snake heads. Mostly I'll be saltwater fishin' but I like the idea of removing invasive critters I can eat. The idea of tournament fishin' for them sounds like a fun way to get into the tourny scene.

can i have some tips for fishing for snakehead in the winter? I saw one near the water the other day and i’ve been trying to catch snakehead since but they won’t bite.
Sure thing Bryce.
First, know that once water temperatures get into the mid to low 40s, catching snakehead is very difficult. Not impossible, but you definitely run the high risk of a skunk outing.
The best thing to use for snakehead in the winter is usually going to be large live minnows, either under a float or on a bottom rig.
The best lures to use during the winter will be small in-line spinners like a number three or number four Mepps, or various swim bait and sub surface lures, like small chatterbaits, spinnerbait, or soft plastic, swimbait and zoom flukes.
You’ll want to fish all of those pretty much on a very slow retrieval or pattern since Snakehead become very sluggish in colder water.
I’ve also made a video on this topic and I’ll be working on editing and updating this video tonight. Hopefully I’ll be able to release the updated video later this week. Good luck!

@@TrevorsCrabs Snakeheads are in the Bush and they do sometimes have tourneys over there, but none are active with links yet for 2023.

That second price got was a DEAL! I usually see them for $12-$16 at major spots, but there are times you can find them a few bucks cheaper

Awesome fishing, what time of year was this? Hard to tell but it seemed like as you got into the even thicker stuff it was the key, bass don't seem to be able to thrive in it like the snakes do.
Hey Hunter, I think this was late September this year. I agree with you on the thick stuff. There were def a good number of snakehead out there on the flats, they just missed or didn’t pull the trigger. But yes, further in, def less bass and more sneks.
The first one I lost (off camera) was an absolute UNIT too.
