What model Chevy is that going in to, and do you have to lift the body to clear the bell housing hump? I am putting a conversion in my 99 RWD Dually and am not sure if I need to do a body lift to get the clearance.
clinton williams it’s a 94 2wd crew dually. You have to cut the trans tunnel and raise the engine to fit the trans if you don’t want the trans pan below the frame rails. If you’re not worried about the trans hanging you can get away without raising it that high. I’ll link a video of how high it needs to be if you’re going to lay the truck on the ground without the trans out. Not sure if it’s the same Allison. And I think it comes with a industrial bell house that makes it sit at an angle. But don’t quote me on any of that. Lol.
Hey man I have a 97 ram 2500 with the good old Ppump 12v. I bought my truck with a “rebuilt” auto then had to immediately rebuild it. Spent 6700 on the 2nd rebuild of the trans and torque converter and had it built for 750hp yet not even two years later it’s leaking and slipping at only 450hp curious how much power a 6speed Allison can hold and what’s the cost breakdown for parts
They can easily hold the power. The swap is just super expensive. CA Conversions sells a trans controller and all the swap stuff you need including a trans if you need one two. I know the swap kit with no trans is close to 6k.

You also doing a 2wd non heavy duty? Cause i know that all differ a bit. I think it also depends on what engine mounts you’re using. But i can try scan them and send it to you.
Ok mines a 2wd extra cab 3500 dually I'm using the dodge engine mounts their the same as the auto world one you got but I was thinking of cutting down the ones on the frame lowering them down a 1/2 inch
@@JohnSmith-qj4cf I was going to use CA conversions for my computer system. I just couldn't fork out the money for all the conversion parts. They definitely know their stuff though.
@@JohnSmith-qj4cf with the adapter, converter you’ll need to not break the Allison, computer, shifter, screen that shows selected gear and everything close to 6k.

I just picked up an Allison 1000 4wd trans for $400. I will be rebuilding it and putting behind a 12 valve and installing it in a 1993 K2500 Suburban.

What grade bolts did you use mounting the Trans?
Trans bolts are grade 5 which was the same as what the adapter came with. I just got some shorter ones.
How the Allison's swap coming? I have a turbo 400 behind mine. It needs a lot more gears lol

How much 6 speed cost thks
Just depends on where you find them. Mine came with truck when I traded for it. There was a Duramax LBZ and Allison originally supposed to go in it.
