Be careful with the one wire alternator, I had one put on my 93 first gen about three years ago and it plays havoc with the electrical system through the pcm, took the one wire off about a year ago and the problems stopped, just a heads up, a buddy who is a mechanic warned me about it and I did it anyway, the one wire alternators are not worth the problems, trust me.
Interesting, this is the first I've heard of this. All the feedback I've heard is set it and forget it with no issues. I'll leave provisions in place to swap back to stock if needed though.
@@decentgarage Hi Tim, how did you fix the steering issue that you had from your last video, nothing was mentioned here about it. Keep up the great content!
I have a sinister diesel high output alternator that I converted to a one wire. It’s the only fix that was ever able to stop the surge on my truck. I’ve since had it converted to manual from auto as well so there’s no pcm to worry about
Great video Tim, question, because the steering geometry has been changed on the truck from factory specifications, do you have to have the truck recertified for insurance purposes in case you get into an accident?
That will depend on insurance companies and state requirements but it is very rare that recertification is required. The problem for that requirement is, where do they draw the line of what is too modified and what is still stockish. This shouldn't be an issue.
Im in Georgia and i need some interior trim pieces its extended cab 1993 D350 dually wish i could have found 3/4 ton cause passenger fender is torn off, the automatic transmission shifts but i need the string that tells what gear your in from shifter to dash cluster
You much of heard or not understood correctly. The transmission is a g56 6-speed manual transmission. I agree, standard is such a better driving experience!
The truck in the snow made this video so
Much better 🤘🏽
Man that is one sick looking build so far. I'm loving the whole Blacked out look.
Sick looking motor, insane views and scenery too. nice build
Thanks!
Looks fantastic! It should drive great with that turbo setup.
Thanks Brian! Can't wait to get rolling on this truck again.
You're doing a hell of a job! I wish I had the focus, and $$$ to do a project of that magnitude. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! It is a lot of work and definitely a quality of work that I am not used to.
That is nice, i hope my 12 valve looks half that nice
Great video Tim! Appreciate the shout out!
@keeprtuned saved the day!😎

I dont guess you could help me?? Dont understand why you couldn't just tell me that, instead of letting me wait 10 days with no response..
Nice build = empty wallet = upset wife = "Truck for sale"
j/k 😁
But really, it's awesome
I like it with the aftermarket stuff but I'm more of a OEM guy
The problem is most the OEM stuff can't handle the power we're going to be throwing at it.
Can you talk about the steering gear location and what pump you’re using??
It's in a previous episode of this build. Go watch the whole series. I believe it is episode 2.
Yee haws 🤠
TH-cam created a "translate to English" link for your comment.😅
86 Chevy Cummins G56 on Dodge one tones 👌 lots of good info from decent garage 💪 and parts from Charlie.
Why Texas????? 😅
Why put an auto trans in the truck??!! Standard is such a better driving experience imho
You much of heard or not understood correctly. The transmission is a g56 6-speed manual transmission. I agree, standard is such a better driving experience!
Oh yeah I completely misunderstood. Nice build looking forward to seeing the final product!
Nobody need's that music .🇺🇸
