On the forums they have multiple posts explaining how great this oil is to our engines lol. Blackstone labs even approved this oil everytime people send them the oil sample from their filters after using T6
@@JesusColon1989 exactly. I don't just buy oil and say "ahh this will do" lol. Especially on a high dollar engine like this. My dad has a BMW motorcycle and they say to strictly use BMW oil because it has gold flakes in it that protect the engine. Rotella oil meets all the requirements of his BMW engine as well!
In the next episode of Unwrecked, Todd eats a 4 course meal off the top of his extremely clean engine. Hot dang! It looks so good. Other TH-camrs take note.
Good job Todd. The filter housing was definitely the main cause of the leak. I had to do mine last year on my E90 and then last week did the cooler/heat exchanger gasket. Do the other cam cover gasket in the summer and for now just smear a bit of sealant around the seem in the spark plug holes. Can't wait to see her finished. And congrats on your sponsership, i'm happy for you man you deserve it.
Good Job Todd. Not even an Audi tech would have taken the time to clean all that up nicely. It just takes too long. I did my Porsche Cayenne gaskets and cooling pipes recently. Took twice as long as I’d take to do a customers car because I wanted it clean and I wasn’t on the clock. 👍🏻

I had to change my fuel injectors because on one the plastic cracked and it didn't have a good seel. So while I was in there I cleaned out the carbon deposits, I found the Berryman B-12 Chemtool fuel injector cleaner worked best and the cheapest to break down the carbon. I just poured it into the intake runner while the valves were closed and let it sit for 20-30 minutes.
Would you say cleaning the intake valves with no experience is a achievable task without taking the front end off and on a driveway? As the price garages charge for cleaning is pretty pricey! Plus if you got a video on what things you need to pull off before hand it'll be a major help and how to open and close the valves...really informative none the less, got yourself a subscriber 👍
I wish I had ur skills, I have a lovely 1993 Audi 100 s, I want to get it better but work on it is not cheap... And I have low knowledge about it... Keep it up...
I really like your videos. Not only do you know your way around cars you also show a lot of talent editing. I mean it's crazy but it is much more dramatic watching you pull a spark plug than anyone else! About the oil: are you really sure you want to put Diesel specific engine oil into your gasonline engine? As far as I know Diesel specific engine oil has way more aggressive detergents than gasoline engine oils. Please check on that. Maybe bobistheoilguy has the answer.
Its not just direct injection, the problem comes from the EGR passing oil fumes into the intake that direct injection doesn't clean away. Maybe an inline catch can would help or, of course, EGR delete. Those plugs look all carboned up but, given the price of premium iridium etc. plugs, I would get a plug cleaner that blasts them with carborundum befor rejecting them - used to work for me on the special 4 prong plugs on a '70s Alfa Romeo.
*New goal? tire machine and balancer by the end of the year? Maybe? The Mobil 1 for turbo diesel's that i use in my Dodge is 5W40 also and it's actually cheaper than the rotella. not giving you shit though Rotella is good oil too. Why did you replace the plugs with a less efficient plug? i'd have spent the money and put E3's in there if you're keeping this thing or at the very least i would have put in exact NGK replacement irridiums or gone with Bosch. of curses all irridium plugs are expensive but you want to get as much performance as you can get out of that thing put in a higher end plug ! Then when you get it all back together run some seafoam through it to clean out all of that built up carbon and varnish that's all in the engine like that. the worst you should see is brown film stains from the oil when you look into those intake and exhaust ports. if not, then you need sea foam. (you know this already this was mostly for others that don't) Remember how you cut corners on some things before then end up having to go back and do the right thing anyway later? do yourself a favor and get the other gaskets man! and your "Clean engine" looks like my tahoe engine inside from the seafoam and using mobil 1. wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that's what was run in this car too. but yeah it is hella clean fo sho! that means it's been treated right and should last you a nice long time still too.and yeah THAT is the brown stain from the oil i was referring to. that's what my 99 Tahoe looks like internally with 188K on it. Why they gotta bend their wrist to dislike? lmao*
Hi do you possibly know what that gasket under the valve cover gasket is called? The one you decided not to change? I can't figure out what is called and i just did my valve cover gaskets and it's still leaking and I'm sure it's that lower gasket because i decided to leave it as well. Also seems to be leaking from the cam cover/timing cover at the very back?? Freakin audi and their leaks...
I used your video to strip my inlet and ive pulled the wires out of the blue plug on the inlet manifold flap motor v157 brown/red-green/white-brown. You wouldnt know the 1.2.3 sequence to fix my problem would you bud?
19:45 this gasket here (the lower rocker-cover gasket) is leaking oil onto my exahust manifold and causing it to smoke! Is this gasket easy to get too? I have replaced rocker covers before on a different S5 and other cars like an E46 M3. Do you need to mess with the timing chain & cams to get at that lower gasket?
Mine is leaking as well. Unfortunately there is no easy way to reseal it. The timing cover on the back of the engine needs removed to get the rocker cover off.

Can't wait till the valve cleaning is done, probably need to do it on my Focus ST nearing 100k. Can't do the seafoam as it may damage the turbo .
Should be able to put it in after the turbo. I will go through the exhaust side but I don't see where it would harm it
