Gildarts wanted to let Natsu pass because he saw his determination in him, but Natsu refused and Gildarts decided to teach him a lesson so that Natsu wouldn't be too arrogant.
Yep. And to teach Natsu about how to become a stronger by understand his weakness and fear and more importantly whats meaning of becoming s class wizard
1:05 bruh... I'm dying 😂 , you could give Juvia a run for her money with Grey . However loved this episode show for the first time Natsu being scared , scared from fighting against a foe , is so crazy to thing about because against Gildarts which he respect and all should be excited by the idea but seeing him tremble and literally CRY for the shame and understanding that fear is not a bad thing... Love this moment , and poor Juvia from all the three examiner she fought against the only one that can't contain herself when she fights😂😅.
Gildarts let Natsu pass cause he showed strength of an S class lvl(pushing him back) it would be impossible to become s class if you gotta beat Gildarts like Erza and Mira together can't beat him probably
@KGggggr There is an argument to be made for both sides to be fair but at this point in the story I don't see them winning. End of series Mira and Erza would win(not easily even then). I am not a powerscaler or anything but that's what i think

This arc will change everything...Literally the fairy tail guild life.
Natsu needs a humbling lesson, no character is better to teach him than gildarts
Gildarts is somewhere on par with the master in strength, perhaps even stronger considering the master's age.

FP Mira and Erza >>>> Gildarts
