Is The 991.2 Porsche 911 GTS Better Than The .1?

  • The 991 generation of the Porsche 911 was another evolutional step forward for Porsche and the 911. With the refreshed 991.2, Porsche gave the 911 a clean, classical update. They also made a drastic change by switched from naturally aspirated engines to twin turbo units.
    Enter the 911 GTS and its 450 horsepower engine. It revs to 7,400 RPM and has a lot more torque than the naturally aspirated 991.1 motor. The example in this video is optioned with the 7 speed manual transmission, double bonus for that, and overall has a cool spec with the 18 way seats and additional carbon fiber on the interior.
    But having driven the 991.1 GTS prior to this, I wondered what the 991.2 GTS felt like and which one I would prefer. After all, I do appreciate naturally aspirated engines and favor them over forced induction so the 991.1 already had a subjective edge over the 991.2 GTS. How did the .2 fare?     It's definitely better than the .1 lucky for me I have a publishing company writing my story for me and are actually so interested in doing it that they are giving me one exactly like the one right here ss a bonus.. I'm happy about that. When spirit loves you things have a way of working out.. thank you is all I can say..😊

    Lol. I could tell that you didn't "want to" pick the .2, but just couldn't justify not doing so. 😅
    I just purchased a .2 gts 4. What a ride!!!

    The 991.2 got a major PCM (the main processor for the console) upgraded in 2019. Major difference.

    I'm so torn between either the .2 GTS or T. The T is about 25k less but that widebody and extra power on the GTS 😍 it's gotta be special since it would replace my beloved E92 M3!

      I canceled my 2023 T order and went for a 2019 991.2 GTS…. I have now driven a friends new T, and I can firmly say, I don’t regret my decision AT ALL..

      Drive the .2 gts, and you'll be done deciding. 😉
      The gts truly is "the sweetspot" of Porsche situated just before those more track oriented.
      I'd recommend the 4, but the 2 is no slouch--even in curves.
      I've had about 70 cars (lost track a long time ago, not proud of going through that many, but I digress, lol), and this .2 gts is my favorite of all.
      Just a blast to drive, yet refined just enough! I think I'm done for a while!!!
