      @@InsideChinaAuto bonkers. it will rip your pants off. ask the guy who drives with you to unlock speed and turn off all limiters they put on for people to test drive the car.
      to enable the REAL launch mode you put your food on the brake with some force while standing in sport plus mode. then hold brake and push full throttle same time until the display says LAUNCH MODE READY. release the brake and watch your eyeballs bounce off the back of your head. if the dashboard doesnt say LAUNCH READY you are not in the fastest possible mode so make sure he will tell you how to activate it since its a bit fiddly. i am driving the BYD tang DM 4.3 for 5 years and it have close to 700HP +950Nm torque so i am used to drive fast but the SU7 is just another level. way more violent than the fastest tesla i drive here before. i absolutely love it! remember to show how the ride height goes up and down when you flip the switch in the middle. also worthy to mention the much better speaker system.
      EDIT i just saw you got launch mode figured. first 3 times i drove it the guy could not get it to work whatsoever!

    This is more than an EV, car.
    It is an IT device on wheels. Like an IoT lifestyles device that connects you to your daily life, smart home, etc.
    Even with 100% US tariffs it's still less than half the price of a Porsche who has had lots of problems with their EV's.
    No wonder in China Porsche is losing its market.

      @@InsideChinaAuto @InsideChinaAuto I think Porsche’s USP of driving dynamics and track performance is kind of irrelevant in the Chinese market.
      Porsche is great at traditional mechanical engineering. But Chinese consumers prefer more technology, advanced software, more features, high quality interiors, low NVH, and comfort biased driving dynamic. Porsche knows it can’t compete in any of those fronts. So, they’re trying to wing it with their brand status.
      The new Macan is a good example of how out of touch with reality they’re in the Chinese market. The base model costs 720k RMB, has a mediocre interior. Its software + battery technology is at least a whole generation behind its Chinese competitors. All its fancy chassis tuning, and driver feedback won’t matter when its overtaken by a Didi driver on a Cherry.
      It's impossible for any euro brands to compete in the 500-700k RMB price bracket in China. I think they will be forced to slash prices, like BMW and Mercedes. Or stick to the ultra-luxury segment (1.5 million +), where there’s probably still a market for that kind of stuff.

    • @li-fq5ec
      @li-fq5ec หลายเดือนก่อน

      Porsche has not lost its market in China, but due to the economic downturn, Porsche's consumer group has become smaller. People still like Porsche as long as their wealth allows. They had to borrow BAIC's car building licence but they've just got their own now so they don't need to put 北汽 on the back of their car now. Meanwhile their factory, I believe, can do 120,000 units a year currently but is being expanded. It'll be to be because they've got a Purosangue, I mean SUV, coming next. 😉

    Porsche have not patented the shape and dimensions. The headlights, taillights are nothing similar to Porsche. I'd even say the whole front and rear. So, a Porsche look is a misinterpretation... The steering wheel though is a different story. 😅

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I've been keen to point out to people that the side profile is really the only thing like a Porsche, though the colours are also very clearly borrowed, plus the 4 units in the headlamps, and as you mentioned the steering wheel. I even discovered that the boost button that gives 20 seconds more power is actually a Porsche feature too from their ICE cars.

    • @CarbonMotorsEU
      @CarbonMotorsEU หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Headlights are rather Mclaren-ish. And the push-2-pass buttons are in Hyundai, KIA, BMW etc. The colors again - not patented. Thanks for the video! The car is interesting and there is little info on it!!!

      It is a carbon copy of the porshe taycan. And you are wrong, car design are patented. They must have an a secret agreement with Porshe.

      Conclusion check before you post

    • @CarbonMotorsEU
      @CarbonMotorsEU 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @mal6297 this is response from Perlexity: "Porsche cannot patent the exact dimensions of the Taycan, as that would be too broad and generic to be granted a valid patent. However, they may have patented specific aspects of the car's design that contribute to its overall dimensions, such as the shape of the body panels, the placement of the wheels, or the integration of the battery pack.Design patents protect the ornamental aspects of a product, not its functional elements. For a design patent to be granted, the design must be novel, non-obvious, and not solely dictated by function. Porsche likely patented the Taycan's distinctive design features that give it a unique visual appearance, while still allowing for some variation in the specific dimensions across different model variants"... So, likely Porsche patented "shoulders" headlights or similar ornaments. So, if I tomorrow produce a 5m by 2m by 1.5m I will get sued by Porsche? Doent make sense.

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

I live in Sweden, in addition to fines, we also suffer from dirty media that lie about Chinese cars, for example Xiaomi is incompetent and behaves dangerously in traffic, although the sources for these accusations are almost non-existent. That's why the Xiaomi su7 ULTRA with 1548 horsepower is here to break all the records on the runway, so it will be hard to say that someone like that is incapable! They were also accused of the slave conditions of the workers and children working in the factory, and Xiaomi has videos where the entire production process is recorded and there are only high-tech robots, there are no people, no children, no slaves. It's sad that many in the west feel the need to throw shade with no basis rather than up their game to compete. We got lazy, simple as that.
      For the Max, I planned to make a video about the Xiaomi Pilot Max ADAS system in Beijing but it turned out it's only coming online in August, so I simply took it for a drive in the mountains and it was bloody marvellous. So sure-footed, precise, barely needed to touch the brake with the one-pedal driving. When I come back for the ADAS video I'll maybe do a video about the Max on its own, a mountain run video or something. Let's see.

      Thanks! Thanks! You said that it is "Very close competition" between Xiaomi su7 MAX and Zeekr 007. In my eyes Su7 wins that match easily! The design is better in every way.
      What do you think? What is your favorite? Build quality? Feeling of quality?
      It would be great to see your test drive etc asap!
      Western media has written a lot of crap about slave labor and child labor in their factories and Xiaomi puts out videos on the production and you don't see a single human there, only high-tech robots.
      Since then, a lot has been written about the Xiaomi su7 MAX behaving dangerously in traffic and that Xiaomi is not capable of building cars. BUT Xiaomi is releasing new Su7 ULTRA with 1548hp which will break track records in October and hope that fact makes everyone understand that our media made mistakes!
      What do you think about this?

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @SMETNJE I think personally the design of the SU7 is better than the 007. I like both but the SU7 really is stunning, it draws you in when you see it. I didn't get to try the 007 Kung-fu edition, I'd have liked to try that one to compare to the Max but maybe one day if I'm lucky. The SU7 looks nicer inside and is more practical, but the 007 feels better made and has a better driving position and more kit, but obviously not the same connectivity as the SU7. I think overall I'd probably take the SU7 just about, though efficiency and charging seems better in the 007. In the end, desirability and performance win on my list of wants so the SU7 takes it.
      Oh and as for the Ultra, well it's just batshit mental, and I love them for that. It's super ambitious and honestly will barely be an SU7 by the time it's finished, but they want to prove they can do it so all power to them. I've asked if they might invite us along to witness it. Let's see.

    I was pretty dissapointed with build quality and materials on the SU7. There's exposed metal and the interior feels very plasticy, especially the steering wheel. The showroom car I looked at had obviously had a lot of people getting in and out but the centre console, seats and doors were really worn ad dirty in several places so I'd guess materials aren't of the best quality. I'd definitely take an nio et5/et5t or zeekr 001 over the max version, maybe the base versions are a better prospect.

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It definitely feels cheaper than a Zeekr, that's true. I think they had planned at a higher price and when their finance guys told them it wouldn't sell for that price, they pulled a few niceties out. That's my hypothesis. As for the ET5, the one I tested was very poorly made with flexible headliner, a centre armrest that came off if you wiggled it a little, and some of the plastics just felt a bit poor.

Plus the fact that 50% of all leather produced every year is literally burned as waste because there aren't enough uses for it.

    I like the minimalist interior (and white interior) but not as extreme as the Tesla. So good for people who like it minimalist but still want the option of adding buttons!
    Apparently it has self parking capability, is that true? How is the auto steer and auto pilot, compared to Tesla, Xpeng, Huawei, etc? And the maps and route selection, as good as Tesla’s?
    Thanks for the review. Seems like you prefer the Zeekr 007?

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like the interior, it's very thoughtful, just misses a few things others get like twin wireless chargers and massage seats, though I can do without the massage seats. I don't see the point in them. But the stuff you can do with the screen and tablets is brilliant.
      It does have self-parking. Had no issues at all parking into my home space by itself.
      Couldn't try the autonomous stuff because I had to rent the car and the owner hadn't activated it, but I'm hoping to try it next week and will make a video if I can.
      I think honestly it's about equal with the 007. 007 has a brilliant ride and better specs in general but I prefer the steering and interior on the SU7. Looks are subjective but it's hard to deny the SU7 in that blue gives you a buzz every time you walk towards it.
