Caught in a FLASH FLOOD in Southern Laos | BIG WET E10
One more stop before leaving Salavan in southern Laos, and that is the markets so we can buy more donations for the care packages. Not long after arriving there the sky opened up.. hard heavy rain I have seen before, but not for this long. The road was a river in no time, then it started to make it's way into the market.. there was nothing we could do but wait it out.. Enjoy

Wow Todd, Neenee and Mina, that was a great downpour of Biblical proportions, but you captures it so well. We have been caught in such sudden storms here in Thailand, but I have to say not so many this year. When I try to explain to people back home in UK they don't believe me, but you have captured every detail, down to the noise the overflowing pipes and the speed with which the flooding occurs. The only thing missing from this one was the thunder and lightning! Excellent photography Todd, thanks as always for sharing. God bless you all 😀❤🙏

Excellent clip! I love a good monsoon, we get them in Cambodia a lot where I live…also at my mom’s house in Thailand it used to flood in the area until an important politician who lived in the area got it corrected. When I lived in VIetnam, it was normal…I used to live in the Saigon Park Hyatt hotel, and it would flood in front during normal rains, which seemed like every day….

Hi Todd,,crazy weather! Amazing how how fast and how much the sky's can dump.i do love watching wicked fierce lightning storms,,we had a pair of fully washers as we call them,,earlier this year. From what I've experienced,,I'd say that storm was dumping 4 or 5 inches an hour,,and that is a massive amount of water. Southern California just experienced a tropical storm/hurricane for the 1st time in 85 years. Floods,,mudslides,,rockslides,,heavy heavy rains. Bunch of fatalities,,mostly from idiots trying to drive small cars thru 3 feet f water.. this was the past weekend. Hope this didnt mess the trip up too much. Our amazing Mina just takes it all in stride. Such a little champ! I enjoyed watching this,,,not so much the hailstorm in May,,that totaled my car,,my house roof and my garden. Thank goodness for insurance. My heart goes out to the millions around the world that just have to deal with shit as it comes. Tell Neenee and my niece hi❤,,Ttyl,,,Marlon

i just watched this again now, thats twice, there is a lot of reflection of the wet season I remember from Thailand, but its 50/50 heaviest rain ever , Sydney or Thailand

Just a little shower to freshen things up. If you've never experienced it in Asia or S Africa, even these excellent clips and photos by Todd don't really do it justice. The noise, and especially the way the rain just starts and stops, you cannot describe it. The thing I've always found hillarious is the way you see locals just carry on, and mopeds going down the road with the rider holding an umbrella. Priceless!

Those are serious heavy rainfalls. I grew up in Vientiane but my dads dad's family are from southern Laos. Muang khoung area but never visited the area. I'm glad that you have videos to show us. It's very incredible that those people had endored those types of storms for many years. I'm sure fishing there are great. I guess before anyone plan to visit there you must check the weather. Make sure it's not a rainy season. Glad that you all are ok.

I keep thinking a project for Neenee’s brother would be setting up a large curing & drying facility (already done for coffee & tea just double it.... I see no reason why high dollar products couldn’t be produced like vanilla pods, cacao or other dried spices / medicinals with a coop type business model.. or even used in rainy season to produce the now ubiquitous pork bracelets, etc. Cheers.

We live on the opposite side of Vientiane to the Aus embassy so have no idea about apartments over there.
