I currently have a Gigabyte G27QC. I've owned it for a little over a year now. I love that it has built in speakers, although I do have a set of external speakers I use when playing COD games. My only complaint with it is I seem to have a line of pixels going down the edge of the left side, it doesn't bother me as much since they seem to disappear randomly. Another weird thing is I'm not able to return to the dashboard from games on my Series X without having to turn the monitor off and then on again. Very strange and only a big issue if I am trying to purchase add-ons from within the game. But! I am currently searching for my next gaming monitor, as I want something 4K with HDMI 2.1 as well. I'd like to get into PC gaming next year too! I've been watching videos on the M28U all day and think I might get this one! Still deciding if I want the arm edition or the traditional stand🤔
The Arm-supported version looks really good, but I went ahead without as I have enough desk space to operate without.

Hi, is this a reason to get this over the asus tuf 28 inch or acer xb283 28 inch. This one is 550 on amazon and the acer was 470. The asus tuf is 650

The M28U has the best set of menus for calibration I've seen on a monitor in its class. Plus you can easily turn off HDR and go SDR for productivity tasks like programming. Either do this through the monitor's own menus or from the display applet in your OS of choice.
Hi, how does the 28 hold up for a PS5 and a 2019 MB Pro 13 i5 combo? I've been seeing posts on issues with scaling, compatibility, etc when the 28 inch connects to Mac os.
I’ve got an M2 pro MacBook Pro and it works perfectly with it, I use it scaled at 1440p because 4k is too small lol. Got it hooked up with a ps5 as well, HDR looks good but I think it’s more on the orange/yellow? Need to test it more

Just curious man, were you actually getting 120 FPS @ 4K on CoD Ps5? I play alot of CoD and I'm trying to find a legit monitor for everything, and being able to run CoD at 4k 120 FPS is a big deal for me. Lol thanks!
Yup! From a technical standpoint I think it’s upsampled to 4k or something like that. Either way the game looks incredible. I’ve been playing a lot of cod on here lately. Really can’t complain

Im actually not entirely sure which one I’m using unfortunately. I believe any type c to c that carries a display signal will do.

Everything with this monitor seems great. The spec sheet is exceptional, from what you are saying the color accuracy and display quality is great. I guess my only question is, what's the catch? Why is this monitor $300-$400 cheaper than it's competitors?

im mostly single player guy right now rarely i play a competitive multiplayer game like cod halo and fornite as right now i only play story mode of game and i dont know if this monitor for me im mostly looking monitor produce amazing color accuracy and 4k run smootlhy and look amazing when im passing a story in game and you know looking around while passing story to impress me while doing it !

Is this bright enough and not look dark dim on it?
Those dark scenes are there to take advantage of HDR in certain games. You can turn HDR off if you like, but if the game depends on those scenes for immersion, or jump scares, you may miss some detail until its too late.
most reviewers fail to mention the 2.1 HDMI bandwidth of this monitor is limited to 24 Gbps.

@@MinimalisTech As per rtings, "the monitor is limited to 24 Gbps of bandwidth instead of the full 48 Gbps of HDMI 2.1, it displays chroma 4:2:0 instead of 4:2:2 because the PS5 doesn't support compression. This makes text clarity a bit worse, but it doesn't affect the gameplay experience. " The Gigabyte M28U's HDMI 2.1 bandwidth is limited to 24 Gbps, so it relies on Display Stream Compression to achieve high frame rates. This isn't an issue as HDMI 2.1 graphics cards support compression, but the PS5 doesn't, so it has some limitations.

@@arcturuz78sorry for my English, i hope you understand me! I have this monitor and tv lg g1 for my console ps5 and series x. I can't see any difference, in chroma subsampling, between different console when use monitor. Also if xbox series x support DCS I can't see difference with ps5.

YUP. I use it daily to this day. Incredible monitor all around.
Especially for anyone who doesn’t have a newer GPU. It’s a great single monitor for pc consoles and productivity.

There is an AE and just the normal one what would you recommend
Yep! it works perfectly with the Series X still. - The AE is the same as the normal one, it's just the "Arm Edition" which doesn't include a regular stand.

Can anyone help me i got the gigabyte m28u monitor today and the monitor itself when i connect to ps5 stays at 60 hz. I checked all my ps5 settings and looks good but i cannot for life of me find out how to change the actual monitor to 120 hz. I have a 2.1 hdmi cable as well.
All the menus run 60hz. If you check the settings etc it’ll say 60hz when you check.
If you start up a game, depending on the in-game graphics settings the monitor HUD should read 120hz

The PS5 system menus have a setting that allows you to choose a preferred mode to start games in (usually fidelity or performance) and if you deselectt this you can take advantage of the uncapped framerates available in the latest games.

Can you run 1440p on the ps5 with this monitor?
Yep. You just set the resolution manually.
There’s a 1440p version of this monitor in 32”. Unsure if there’s a smaller one
In the PS5 Display settings you can manually test which 1440p modes your connected monitor can handle. I ran through this with the M28U and can report that it handles all of the 1440p modes the PS5 is capable of, from 30fps to 120fps.

@@paper7blanket none that I've noticed in any of the VRR mode games I've played. Firmware updates seem to have fixed any issues long ago.

Yep, but the HDR is terrible with this monitor, I wouldn't enable it.

@@DylanZ1201 I find that if you use the exceptional calibration options available in the M28U's menus you can achieve more than adequate HDR performance. While I do understand that not everybody wants to calibrate their own monitor, the tools are available right there for your use.

Easily. It supports both Gsync and Freesync Premium, so it is GPU brand agnostic.
