    Just did this on a 95 accord! Thanks for the guide. I used a drill metal cutter to make a hole. Then used some hand held heavy duty metal cutters from Harbor freight to avoid sparks as much as possible.

    Thanks. My car broke down near a friends house, he helped me tow it to his place and I had to work with what we had. He had a sawz all which was risky but worked. I didnt have a Jack besides the one that came with the car would have been stuck without this video.

    Same game. Forget dropping the tank for a 20+ year old bucket. They're just A to B cars at this point anyways.

    My 95 accord is hesitating to accelerate at 2500 rpms and hearing pops under me until I press down the gas more and suddenly it accelerates like if the vtec kicks in, can my fuel pump be going bad?

    I used an angle grinder myself. After i dropped the tank, cause it needed to be replaced. full of rust. Then made a plate cover you screw in so it can be accessed over n over if need be without looking all botched up with tape....

    • @buggzp9887
      @buggzp9887  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Unfortunately yes, but check your trunk and under the back seat to make 100 percent sure. Second, check you main fuel relay(under steering wheel kick panel), disconnect a fuel line under the hood, spray starter fluid in the intake manifold while its turning over to see if the car jump like it's about to start. Do all that before dropping the tank. Good luck.

    My understanding is that the service department is where most dealerships make their money. I'd love to see a new car maker make one danged car extremely well and make money from selling many . Like we do with Honda Accords and mainly Civics, we could rice that car in a zillion ways. And, make it easy for the consumer to fix and maintain him/her self.

    Its sad people are so greedy. Why make one access hole and not the other one to remove the pump. People would still bring it in to the shop because not everyone likes messing with cars

    Only thing i wouldve done different is put an hinge on the metal you took off. That way if you ever need to get back in, just take the take off and flip it back and up out the way

  • @tylerk3616
    @tylerk3616 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I wish honda just made the access hole for the damn thing. I'm thinking out cutting a square out then adding hinges and a latching mechanism so it's like a access door.

    • @buggzp9887
      @buggzp9887  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a great idea. it would not be like an access door, don't sale yourself short; IT WOULD BE AN ACCESS DOOR. They did not add one so they can charge you for the work. put a gasket around your access door to ensure no gas fumes enter the trunk and inside the car. Keep her running.

    I think you missed the opportunity to remove the fuel tank, which is not much harder than cutting your hole, and clean out build up in tank of water and much which can wreck your new fuel pump. refer to this video th-cam.com/video/E5xC957OXSs/w-d-xo.html

Tell me what is wrong with my access hole; not that it's ugly, that's not how you do it, or any other nonsense. Tell me what is wrong with my access hole. Thanks for your comments any friend.
