It wasn't his monologing that allowed G-man to tear one of his hearts, but the fact, that he wanted to corrupt him. If he wanted to kill him, he would have done so. Regardless it was out-right forbidden by the chaos gods to kill the G-man even to Lorgar, because in his last moments, Guliman would have ordered all forces to make haste to Terra and the war would surely be lost.

Actually both has wards and spells tattooed over their whole body, some kept out demon possession, others kept the warp from effecting them psychically.
People always accuse the Emperor for being a horrible father to his sons, but it is a always a reminder that not all of the adoptive parents of the Primarchs were paragons of virtues, and Kor Phaeron is on the top list of being a bad dad.
I think part of the issue is the chaos gods deliberately chose certain planets to warp the development of the primarch's psyche so that a heresy was inevitable due to the Emperor being unable to relate to or dedicate resources to stopping them. Functionally The Gods used a narcisisstic double bind or catch 22 to force the Emperor into a no win situation where everyone would perceive him as a jerk for trying his best to triage the situation so humanity would not go extinct and in that the Emperor was successful at the steepest of costs. Be that as it may I think given that Lorgar was a primarch obsessed with faith I think the Emperor should have definately forseen his fall to chaos or maybe employed his Custodes as psycho therapists for the more broken or wayward primarchs.
He's like the pedo catholic priest who happened to find Jesus wandering the streets. Now he manipulates and schemes his way to being the pope on the back of the lords son....
Its a shame Kor gets overshadowed by both Erebus in the eyes of the fandom in terms of hate and responsibility for the heresy. When Really he's just as responsible as him. At lorgar as he rushed to protect his sons being slaughtered by Corvus...then saved from the killing blow by The night haunter. Kor did have balls tho, walking around missing a heart from Bobby G punching him...he survived to establish a safe haven in the eye. Sor telron was melted and in hell and lorgar brought him back...then became a dreadnought the warmonger. Badass. Lorgar had some balls to but his ego got too big. I love betrayer tho....buddy cop with angron in the shadow crusade.
I would like to see Erebus have an other epic plan going and get it taken out from under him by Kharn at the last second. Can't kill Erebus... I love to hate him. He needs to kill Drogo first and the few other poorly written OP Mary Sue's. I always love how Erebus slips away honestly after doing something we all hate. Kor Phaeron is an attention whore baron. Have the hybrid stripped of his armor and thrown off the pages never to be written about again. Literally and metaphorically that would be the best death for such a poorly written character.
People really sleep on how busted Erebus and Kor are. Erebus has at will summoned 4 greater daemons like it was nothing and killed Erda. Kor with a bit of time was able to store about enough warp juice to paralyze a primarch and could have easily killed him if he didn't try to turn him instead. It's now been like 1200 years since and Kor and Erebus are still sane (relatively speaking) well Kharn is just a crazy man now who's died multiple times since.

He's been my favorite character since I started reading the Horus Heresey. Just starting on Fallen Angels and I'm so excited to have Zahariel as a main character again! They divided in sects led by various Dark Apostles and Cardinals, much likely excommunicating each other in the process. With Lorgar nowhere to be found, hiding with a good reason. Two reasons, more precisely. One is Guilliman, who swore to gut him like a fish, and almost succeded on Nuceria. The other is Corax, who's actively stalking him in the Eye of Terror to settle the score with the events of Istvaan V. I'd say that Lorgar's days are clearly numbered.

Following the events of Calth, I've always considered The Word Bearers as the primary chaotic rivals of the Ultramarines. I know the Black Legion usually fits that role as the vanilla chaos legion but I think that the Word Bearers fit much better.

I never liked the idea of the Angel, but considering how hard it must have been to get Sang’s wings to function perfectly without relying on standard avian anatomy, I can see a trial run in the Angel. Imo he was a proto-Custodes who was driven mad by his augmentations
Valedor head of the Custodians could be considered a primarch. The emperor treated him as such, giving him special weapons that only other primarchs got to use.
