      rant: (cause of how bad this high budget movie is) thought maybe she couldn't shoot him, cause Bella-saurus guy was a father figure to her, But people don't go out of their way to harm innocent people, its usually the ones they have a connection to that caused them pain/ emotions... atleast she could have given him a scar- hence her name

    I will give kudos to Zack Snyder. This movie lulled me to sleep for four days in a row before I could get to the end of it. And it wasn't even a light slumber, it was full on deep sleep with dreams and snoring. So I, for one, look forward to his future entries to watch whenever I am too stressed to get some zzzs.

      She did? Ha. That woman just couldn't catch a break outside of I guess escaping these movies unlike poor Sofia Boutella. I find it funny that the Honest Trailers review pointed out she pointlessly cut off her hands and replaced them with metal variants to wield the Temu Lightsabers...when apparently the story then also shows you can just wrap the handles in leather to achieve the same effect. Whoops.

      @@MusicoftheDamned I may had misunderstood the film (the dialogue is generic and ambiguous), but it gave me the impression that she didn't cut her arms only because the swords are literaly too hot to handle, but also because the prostetic hands have some kind of swordmanship software programed onto them, and that's how in a short time she turned from a simple villager into a killing machine. Which makes the awful fight choreography of her fight scenes even worse

      The same joke is in many other pitch meetings because it's a fairly standard movie trope for the hero to decide not to kill the villain while their actions simultaneously kill dozens or even thousands of the villain's lackeys.

      If you just like action scenes, a new movie with a predictable story is still better than a fight you've already seen several times.
      Many people want to be able to talk about the new thing everybody else is talking about, and will watch the movie before reviews come in.

      U know my wife asked why the f are we seeing this scene in slow motion...and then it got me thinking; perhaps because this guy was stuck as a gladiator kind of for so many years and water is so precious and was so rare for him, and now finally, after all those years, he could get water as a normal human being, and this moment is kind of important for him... 😅😅😅 but then, I realized that the movie never ever expanded anything on this character so I was just trying to make up a back story that makes sense in my head 😂😂😅

    So, like the last RM, I watched this with a bunch of friends in a watch party (really the only way to suffer through these). It's amazing that Ryan hit EVERY SINGLE thing that we made fun of. He's pretty awesome that way.

    It took me 4 sittings to watch the whole movie. I kept falling asleep… the only thing that kept me going was knowing there was a Pitch Meeting to watch afterward. I don’t think I can make it through four more, even with the Pitch Meeting promise…

      If you're looking for storytelling logic or legitimately compelling character development in Snyder stuff, you definitely haven't seen the whole "why did you say that name" scene. Just epic, emotionally pivotal writing there. #martha!

      How much would it have cost to just buy the grain? In a low tech society, you could roll in with a bunch of brand new tools and other hard to find supplies, it would be a pretty easy trade. And then you could buy more the next year.

    Rare to see the hero refuse to kill the big bad guy and THEN kill a bunch of faceless goons. Good on you, Rebel Moon Part 2 for subverting that trope.

      I don’t think the other movies have been given the greenlight yet. I know Snyder apparently wants to make 4 more. But given the reaction to the first two, Netflix would have to know it would be a massive waste of money.

      It's not. That is just marketing to show people who are invested they can stay invested. I don't know why they keep doing that. You'll see, they are going to announce soon-ish the whole thing is cancelled. They did the same thing to The Witcher, and many other dud franchises. There is a very clear and obvious pattern.

    When I saw this trainwreck of a movie, I knew there has to be a pitch meeting about it. While watching it, I thought to myself: How do you harvest all of the grain in such a short period of time? Super easy. Well, how will you manage to dig all the trenches in time? Barely an inconvenience. This movie is in a category of its own in so many ways.

    Future spaceships being powered by coal (and possibly a string quartet) really stoked the furnace to make a string of slo-mo space grain harvesting films.

      It's not actually powered by coal. Coral is used to brew wheat beer from all the wheat, the beer is used to fuel the god, and the god powers the ship

      Well, if that was the second movie you'd have seen 20 minutes of slow-mo harvesting. So at least you dodged that bullet I guess.
      (i'm _almost_ morbidly fascinated enough to watch the director's cut of the second one just to see how much more farming he puts into it. Almost)

      Lucky you, I actually sat through the entirety of the first one. Immediately gave the second one a thumbs down, without even watching it, and it just disappeared, never to be seen again. No, seriously; I have done that to many shows and movies, and I still see them being recommended. But I never see this movie among them.
      Netflix knows this movie franchise is dead. They will announce, soon, that it is cancelled.

    Gah, I hate it so much when heroes in movies can’t bring themselves to kill their villains (when it isn’t thematically relevant or for children). Have they not prepared themselves for such an eventuality, despite everything? And if they have killed a bunch of soldiers during the movie, then it just feels hypocritical. What, are they just too scared to kill someone they know, but have no problem killing faceless soldiers?
    Regardless. Great video with funny criticisms and stellar deliveries :)

      Meanwhile, characters I've played in LARPs or TTRPGs have had the inverse problem of "Must not harm innocent people, must not kill minions whenever possible, even when it makes things very inconvenient ...And now I'm sad that I wasn't the one to put that major villain down". XD

      To be fair, it was her father figure. It makes s o m e sense that she had reservations about killing him, but after getting past the moral barrier of killing a child she had protected for some time, it’s not super believable she immediately can’t pull the trigger aimed at her father figure who she knows is a terrible monster.

    There are too many action movie tropes in this movie to fit into one tight little pitch meeting, but one bonkers detail that could have gotten a good Producer Guy reaction is that after murdering a bunch of medics, the main character blows up up the ship's power source, which appears to be a giant, semi-conscious metal woman, tied down in submission, that apparently is used to produce labia-shaped portals for the ship to travel through.
