I originally though that the woman was pregnant before she turned but given the timeline, Vegas had clearly been walled off for years at this point, so that wouldn't work unless the fetus was just forever at that stage of the pregnancy or as you said, zombies can conceive...which then raises the question, is Zeus monogamous? I mean, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas so even him falling in love with a Vegas showgirl is a cliche. ;)

With how much Snyder messes with things, they're not even zombies anymore. Not by Romero's standards and not the modern infected sort either. Change the name to orcs and aliens, it'd fit right in. If they had the orcs from Middle Earth enter a dimensional portal and end up in Las Vegas, it'd still make more sense than this garbage movie.

@@littlehamilton117 To be fair, you'd have to build a ladder or structure to actually climb those containers, and I don't think the zombies reached the "building basic structures" part of their tech tree yet.
it was the alpha zombies that used the elevator, and the coyote girl said that the city was their kingdom, not their prison. It's not that they couldn't leave, it's that they didn't want to.
That's the thing... U saw two UFOs in the very beginning? You saw blue lights in some Alpha zombies... The Omega wasn't a zombie... He was an alien and their species survives that way, from our perspective, that is zombie... That's why the child was growing... Cz they ain't dead... They are alive and breathing!
This is why it seems as if a 9 year old wrote it, they do not have any clue how reality works and especially not how the military operates. You can fake it and make it seem believable, but this isn't close. This is apparent from the very beginning. "Here comes a car wildly swerving all over the road, we aren't going to mention it at all on the radio tho, even though this is somehow some of the most important cargo ever." And they got a small amount of the biggest stooges in the military to escort it, people who don't follow procedure or commands at all, in a container that pops open when it's jarred. Then they dump a bunch of parachute guys over the top of hordes of zombies. Because, yeah, why not... That's how the military works right?
I loved it when they reduced the strong female character into a meaningless love interest then promptly killed her. It's like the plot was written by incels.
Srsly if the friend died in the helicopter crash, her going in was completely worthless. Her friend would have died either way, only instead if she didn’t come along, her dad and the pilot would’ve survived since they didn’t try to rescue her

You know... if he had just been straight with them. They could have cut the queen zombies' head off immediately, when they sacrificed the dickhead. (Because he actually knew that this was the queen zombie but said nothing). Then got on the bus with days to spare. Paid them their 50 million (if the head is worth 2 billion "it's worth 10 times as much", I think you can part with 2.5%).
There is a scene where they explain that some of tanakas men that already tried to get down in the vault. he recruited the protagonist because the dude had been inside the city when the outbreak first began. do you all even watch the movie???

I expected something about the first scene, where the most important cargo was escorted by the most incompetent team leader, in vehicles made of solidified nitroglycerine. Blind too: at night, on a straight road, they see the car's light only when it's literally on top of them. That whole thing was so long and painful to watch. I admire your resilience.
Also, the most dangerous being in the world was NOT tied and has his mouth uncovered. Even Hannival Lecter had more security in fron of his mouth than a lethal zombie

That factor is consistent throughout many Zombie movies. It depends on your immune system, the severity of the bite, and physical activity after getting bitten. Everybody's system reacts differently.
He didn't even mention the weird, maybe everyone is stuck in a time loop, forced to relive the same day over and over idea that went literally nowhere.

It wants to be shlocky but it also wants to be serious. It wants to be gory - but it doesn't want to be too gory. He pulled a DC. He was so concerned with setting up his franchise he forgot to make us care about it.
When the heli crashed, I asked my friend "so what happened to that girl they rescued?" I have no idea how they didn't even at least just show her dead. The just.. acted like she didn't exist. This needs a snydercut. Oh wait

It could have been in there when the mom was zombified but since mother and fetus blood dont normally mix I think they had zombie shreks BUT if it was a pure zombieblood baby , why tf would it need to survive in the womb... That contradicts the whole fact of it being zombie
The zombies were intelligent because of the Alpha. Alpha zombies in this movie are different. It's not that hard to believe that in this movie world they can have babies as well.
Yeah... though there is the super magical zombie 'scream' that somehow the alpha hears. Doesn't really make much more sense, and it is never explained how the characters know the alpha will hear her, but there it is.
Zack Snyder said he loved working with Netflix because they let him do whatever he wanted. After this movie, I guess we know why he encounters a lot of resistance with other studios.
@Talebird K Well, when his studio movies like BvS and JL contain far too much material to fit into the runtime that he’s supposed to be hitting, whose fault is that? A studio telling a director to cut a super-long movie to a length that they can actually release is going to turn what might otherwise have been a decent movie into a train wreck. What the studio needed to do was put him on a shorter leash in the first place.
Sometimes you watch a movie and enjoy it and it’s not until the pitch meeting video that you realize all the plot holes. Army of the dead was not one of those movies.

I feel that the beginning of the movie, the montage and how thee army transported the first zoombie, and how they survived Las Vegas the first time, should have been the actual movie.
It did feel like an entire separate movie was written, filmed and edited then cut up and turned into a fmv someone made when they heard about the sequel.
This movie is what happens when you let a guy like Snyder, who is more concerned with cool visuals, make Peninsula. Peninsula was a decent heist flick set in a zombie apocalypse. Army of the Dead...wasn’t.

I want the beginning credits sequence to be turned into a feature length movie. It actually had a full story and character development. It was the best 4 minutes of the movie!
I actually just said this to a friend after watching it, that the entire opening credits montage would have probably been a better movie than the rest of the movie.
The bottom line of this basically unwatchable movie is literally “you’re not allowed to care about ANYTHING! LOGIC, PLOT AND COMPREHENSION ARE IRRELEVANT!”
Yeah and on top of that he has to slow down the movie and play some song on top of what should have been cool action scenes. That's his thing now. Does that in every movie. It's cheap and annoying.
I enjoy watching these pitch meetings more than watching the actual movies. Ryan puts more thought into his sketches than the people writing Hollywood movies nowadays.
I still don't get the part about Katie being pissed off with coyote for taking the mother inside and leaving the children but then chooses to go inside as well instead of staying back and taking care of the children and making sure they get on a plane safely
I mean that Concrete Saw must have weighed hundreds of pounds and it's a Zombiecide callout. I can't believe it just vanished between scenes and nobody talks about it again.
I'm also wondering why the heist was even necessary if the safe was strong enough to resist a nuclear bomb and that fallout aren't a thing in this universe.

The over-the-top one-dimensional characters already made it impossible for me to enjoy. Plus the idea of a bunch of people going into a zombie-invested town just to get some money there also didn't make me care much about what happens to them. Which ones of them will still be alive in the end? Well.....let's see if there's something else on tv.

Yeah, like they had no idea what it was. It could easily have been a radioactive rock or lethal chemical. Like, literally anything in a container like that, you’d assume slowly approaching it would be a terrible idea.
I was thinking why the hell would HQ, who would know what was in it, tell these guys to run away knowing that the thing being close to such a huge urban center would make the problem even worse.

That second one was baffling. Just tell him you have the head and he'll have to open the latch to get it back! Why'd you even swap the head if you're not going to pull the old "I double crossed your double cross"? It certainly wouldn't have made a difference for Sunglasses Guy if he'd actually had the head during the tiger scene, so her keeping it only ended up getting her killed
That's what I was thinking. I'm no expert in electricty and fuel but when I saw the entire casino full of gambling maschines, lamps and bright neon lights turn on I half expected it all to turn off again 10 seconds later.
I know all the other catch phrases are super easy,And barely an inconvenience to remember. However so the movie can happen is always my favorite part of these pitch meetings

Watched the "50 shades of Gray" Screenrant last night from three years ago and this today. As funny as it was years ago, the humor is so much more refined in these newer ones. Like he's much less shy to do the voices and act silly on camera.

I may be giving Snyder too much credit, but my feeling was that this was half-parody. The way he took _every_ zombie trope and threw them together in a blender is either total incompetence or an attempt at making light of them. And since he's already proved he can do a decent by-the-numbers zombie movie, I think it was deliberate. Even the characters seem to be deliberate pastiche, from the tough-yet-vulnerable bearded daddy figure to the sleazy corrupt cop with a 70s moustache.

I think Snyders thought process was more in the range of: "This will look sick." and "That's just cool, bro." and I think that is a good way to approach cinematography in certain cases but not a story.
After watching Army of the Dead I really wanted to see this movie with the plot of the Opening Credits. That had more emotion, heart, continuity, and character development than the entire rest of the movie.
The characters who made it to the rooftop would have all survived if they hadn't talked on the way there and instead focused on... GETTING TO THE CHOPPA
So frustrating how they just stood at the chopper to chill and talk while knowing they left all the doors open so the Alpha Zombie could come up and kill them.

Omg Agreed. I was like, what??? Asking these questions put loud... seriously wanted the rain scene. Like miss2d opportunity when that dried corpse in the vent had his hand droped on the vent exit... they could have had set off the sprinklers or something being like rain and having zombies like him come to life... it was such a missed opportunity. Also so confused how the one guy even survived the vault. Aren't those thing alike locked air tight when the close. He would have died from lack of oxygen before he could escape.
What upset me even more was that this crap was loosely tied in with a good movie called Army of Thieves where we first meet “Dieter” the safe cracker. The actor Mattias Schweighofer also directed it. Snyder had some hand in the story as it’s a prequel to this movie, but it’s infinitely better. It’s loosely tied in as it takes place across Europe and the zombie outbreak is only mentioned in news stories, a couple of conversations and a couple of nightmares had by Dieter. Definitely worth a watch.

This is why it seems as if a 9 year old wrote it, they do not have any clue how reality works and especially not how the military operates. You can fake it and make it seem believable, but this isn't close. This is apparent from the very beginning. "Here comes a car wildly swerving all over the road, we aren't going to mention it at all on the radio tho, even though this is somehow some of the most important cargo ever." And they got a small amount of the biggest stooges in the military to escort it, people who don't follow procedure or commands at all, in a container that pops open when it's jarred. Then they dump a bunch of parachute guys over the top of hordes of zombies. Because, yeah, why not... That's how the military works right?
I wonder how the writers of these movies feel after they watch these... do they get paid well enough not to be deeply hurt?

You know... if he had just been straight with them. They could have cut the queen zombies' head off immediately, when they sacrificed the dickhead. (Because he actually knew that this was the queen zombie but said nothing). Then got on the bus with days to spare. Paid them their 50 million (if the head is worth 2 billion "it's worth 10 times as much", I think you can part with 2.5%).
There is a scene where they explain that some of tanakas men that already tried to get down in the vault. he recruited the protagonist because the dude had been inside the city when the outbreak first began. do you all even watch the movie???

In the movie the zombies have a hierarchy in a way , half way through the movie the female alpha/queen is revealed to be pregnant with a human fetus. And I questioned how a dead body can grow a human fetus.
Longest 20 minutes ever. It had to of taken 10 minutes to pack the bags with money. So to get to the helicopter and hear him say about 9 minutes. 😲

I feel that the beginning of the movie, the montage and how thee army transported the first zoombie, and how they survived Las Vegas the first time, should have been the actual movie.

I want the beginning credits sequence to be turned into a feature length movie. It actually had a full story and character development. It was the best 4 minutes of the movie!

This should have been a scene where we learn how badass the youtuber was, instead it made him look like a coward. Everything in this movie is a build-up to a letdown.

Haha, that is me. I watched the first 10 minutes and knew this was going to be bad. Finished the movie in about 20 to 25 minutes.
i just realized that guy was actually 100% right! they all did die. the only person we know survived was Kate, who wasn't part of the team at that point

That second one was baffling. Just tell him you have the head and he'll have to open the latch to get it back! Why'd you even swap the head if you're not going to pull the old "I double crossed your double cross"? It certainly wouldn't have made a difference for Sunglasses Guy if he'd actually had the head during the tiger scene, so her keeping it only ended up getting her killed

That's what I was thinking. I'm no expert in electricty and fuel but when I saw the entire casino full of gambling maschines, lamps and bright neon lights turn on I half expected it all to turn off again 10 seconds later.

Watched the "50 shades of Gray" Screenrant last night from three years ago and this today. As funny as it was years ago, the humor is so much more refined in these newer ones. Like he's much less shy to do the voices and act silly on camera.

The plot twist was that the movie was actually happening on Planet Namek, same time logic as the fight between Frieza and Goku

I may be giving Snyder too much credit, but my feeling was that this was half-parody. The way he took _every_ zombie trope and threw them together in a blender is either total incompetence or an attempt at making light of them. And since he's already proved he can do a decent by-the-numbers zombie movie, I think it was deliberate. Even the characters seem to be deliberate pastiche, from the tough-yet-vulnerable bearded daddy figure to the sleazy corrupt cop with a 70s moustache.

I think Snyders thought process was more in the range of: "This will look sick." and "That's just cool, bro." and I think that is a good way to approach cinematography in certain cases but not a story.
After watching Army of the Dead I really wanted to see this movie with the plot of the Opening Credits. That had more emotion, heart, continuity, and character development than the entire rest of the movie.

So frustrating how they just stood at the chopper to chill and talk while knowing they left all the doors open so the Alpha Zombie could come up and kill them.

Like miss2d opportunity when that dried corpse in the vent had his hand droped on the vent exit... they could have had set off the sprinklers or something being like rain and having zombies like him come to life... it was such a missed opportunity. Also so confused how the one guy even survived the vault. Aren't those thing alike locked air tight when the close. He would have died from lack of oxygen before he could escape.

What upset me even more was that this crap was loosely tied in with a good movie called Army of Thieves where we first meet “Dieter” the safe cracker. The actor Mattias Schweighofer also directed it. Snyder had some hand in the story as it’s a prequel to this movie, but it’s infinitely better. It’s loosely tied in as it takes place across Europe and the zombie outbreak is only mentioned in news stories, a couple of conversations and a couple of nightmares had by Dieter. Definitely worth a watch.
