    After 2 whole weeks of trying and and multiple phone calls to power commander and almost giving up this video helped me. Power commander needs better instructions. Great product but horrible instructions

    I do have a question. So I drive past race fuel every day at one of my local gas stations. And i read forums if this fuel would or could hurt my engine and it seems like most are confident in saying that it wont really make any difference if im not tuned for it. Would this power commander chip be exactly what I want to run higher octane fuel?

    • @edwardmorton166
      @edwardmorton166 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      pillow pants it depends on the fuel you are running. If its just a higher octane fuel, its sole purpose is to resist detonation in higher compression engines. This is established with added ingredients which can cause a lacquer build up and ruin an engine. And unless the bike is set to run on cheap gas, you really should not see a difference as most bikes run on premium fuel.

      yes u would have a map for 98 octane then one for ethonol but needs to be tuned

    What pins do you have the switch connected to? From the video it looks like pins 1 and 3 from the middle of the PCV.

      "Input 1" There are two contacts - polarity doesn't matter (open/close)

      the first two (closest the central cable)

      Dynojet told me that the first 2 holes are for the first position and the second 3-4 are for second position. I can’t even figure out how to get a map into the second position in the first place

    can you switch two different ecu maps through powercommander via wheel buttom ?

    • @CreativeFabrications
      @CreativeFabrications  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      U could ,just have to wire the button to the output and would have to be an open / close style button

    Thanks for this. Do you need to do anything special to “reboot” when switching maps?

    • @CreativeFabrications
      @CreativeFabrications  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no just make sure your off throttle while switching maps it wont allow you too while the TPS reads anything .same on all new bikes that come standard with a map switch

    • @NorthCust
      @NorthCust 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can use pretty much any type of switch, you just need to be able to open and close the connection. Full info on the PCV page here, under the "accessory inputs" section: www.powercommander.com/downloads/16-001/install/pcv/eng16-001.03.pdf

    I have been told today that Auto Tune (Dual Channel in my case) is not compatible with two maps (switch map). Is it true? I haven't installed anything yet.

    • @ericharris3097
      @ericharris3097 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes but you load your map then you let the auto tune work and save it on map 1 or 2 after you cut auto tune off

    • @CreativeFabrications
      @CreativeFabrications  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      u can only use one map for auto tune
