  • In this video I'm uploading a +10% fuel map to the map #2 slot of the Power Commander V for testing some ideas.
    Also shows a bit more re map switching in practice and a little test run

    I just posted an in-depth interview I did with Dynojet UK about Power commanders, fuel mapping etc (generally focussed on R125s). This has been in the works since January so I'm pleased to finally have it live and published. Thank you once again to Dynojet for taking the time to talk to me at such length: northcust.co.uk/2021/04/interview-with-dynojet-in-detail-on-power-commanders/

      heya, there's a little rubber cover on one end which has a mini-usb under it - just plug that into your laptop. you can just see the little rubber cover on the left in the installation instructions here: dynojet.co.uk/media/attachment/file/e/n/engi19-002.04.pdf
      Hope that helps :) you can send me pics otherwise or drop me a message info@northamptoncustoms.co.uk

    Hey now your big bore has been in for a while now do you have a good base map for 180cc kit plus aftermarket exhaust? been looking through old forums but couldnt find any

      hi, well yes and no... I fitted the wideband and was starting to get a decent map together but then the wideband stopped reading so haven't really been able to progress it any further. The map I've got is pretty good but not as refined as I'd like, runs good and doesn't overheat tho so will have to do for now. email me info@northcust.co.uk and I can send you the map I'm using - idk if it's better than what you have or not but could be worth a test/compare notes?

      NorthCust Hey I’ve just bought a 180cc for my Wr125, I’ve already got a arrow exhaust full system fitted. Was wonder if you have found a good map?

      @@jimmylad91 I didn't 'find' a good map, more like I ended up there eventually, I had a nice map from when it had the pcv fitted and it got dynoed a while back (as 125cc), further refined a bit over the following year. That was about perfect for my bike on the 125cc. Then I added 40% on when I fitted the 180 as a starting point, and refined it further several times with the wideband. I'm happy to send you the map I've got but it seems to be a bit rich for most who've tried it. It may be a starting point though I guess. Email info@northcust.co.uk. If you have a good map from before the upgrade I'd try adding 40% to that and see where you're at. They seem to vary a lot from bike to bike. For example I think the power band has shifted somewhat (lots of low+mid, not much top) on mine due to timing chain stretch, which would mean the fuelling would prob be at least somewhat different than on a not-stretched timing chain so what runs well on mine may not run well on yours...does that make sense?

    Hi brother, I'm desperate, I can't find a map for 150cc cylinder of the 125 yzf. Could you help me?
    I would really appreciate it.

    • @NorthCust
      @NorthCust  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiya, so I've just put a 180cc cylinder on my bike and initially just added 40% to my previous 'best map' (I.e. all values +40%). Its not perfect but it was good enough till I got the wideband on there.
      Could you not do something similar but add ~20%? I can send you a map np but the ones I have are all for my bike, so unless you have the same setup its not likely to be any better than what you have already, bit you're welcome to give it a go.
      Feel free to drop me an email at info@northamptoncustoms.co.uk and we can go from there :)

    • @NorthCust
      @NorthCust  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not on google, it's not even edited into a proper track tbh, it's just a short excerpt from a jam session recording. email info@northcust.co.uk and I can send you the mp3 if you like but it's pretty basic.

    Do you changed the factory ignition?

    • @NorthCust
      @NorthCust  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, just the fuelling currently. I don't have control over the ignition currently and the PCV doesn't support it

    Hey man! I'm struggling to find power commander maps.
    Any chance you could email me a couple please? I've got a 150cc so I think the 10% + would do the trick with some modifications.
    I would be very appreciative 😊
    Cheers

    Hmmm, did You finally change the fueling +10% at 6000 rpm at 40% throttle only? Or through the entire rev range? It was interesting to see the stock map of fueling as I have never seen it before. Btw, the airbox mod will make a notticable difference but I think that more adjustments to the fueling map may be required to take the best advantage of the mod.

    • @NorthCust
      @NorthCust  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its adding +10% from 6k onwards (and 40% throttle or more).up to max rpm & 100% throttle. So basically when you're giving it some, not coasting.
      Also there is no "stock map" as such since the PCV is a piggyback ecuand it would just be a grid of zeroes (0% adjustment from oem). The baseline map I'm using is the tune I got from the place who fitted the PCV. I think they started with a generic starting map for the R125 (from dynotune presumably) and then they tweaked it from there.
      What you can see though is how they had to hugely fill in that diagonal midrange area, but I guess that's having to take into account the exhaust and filter etc
      >> I think that more adjustments to the fueling map may be required to take the best advantage of the mod.
      that's why I loaded the +10% map on, since if there's extra air then there's a chance extra fuel will be needed. It's possible I'll need more than +10% but it's a starting point.

      I've actually done some testing with the airbox thing in the mean time but the video failed hence it's not on YT: northamptoncustoms.co.uk/2019/04/19/debunking-airbox-mods-on-yamaha-yzf-r125-part-1/
