I love the way Roger tells about his feelings, what he loves and his actual moment. Everything with joy and passion. It's truly an inspiration... Thank you for everything, Roger!
For me, everything is as clear as crystal pure water from a mountain stream. Roger concerts live are the best way to see the flow of the music that has accompanied us throughout our lives, leading to a colorful spectacle, with the best staging and a very special connection with the artist . Roger is unique and special, the shows are today the highest level on the world stage, an event to remember forever.
Such a talented artist. I’m lucky to have seen him twice in Copenhagen 2011 and in Stockholm 2019. He was the spokesperson and soundtrack of my life. I was the shy not very popular guy in school. But when I reached my forties I became self confident. Always had the Hodgson song lingering in my head. The sixty plus songs would make a great box. It would be a collectors item.
Great interview! After listening to Roger's words here I reassert in something i've said many times before, and it is that Supertramp needs Roger, but Roger doesn't need Supertramp at all. And I hope one day he find the time to release a new album with all those gems I'm sure he has. Last week I attend his two Spanish shows and I can't wait to see him again next month. His shows are so special, You never know what's going to happen, there's always a gap for a surprise.
Roger says he has 60 songs that nobody has ever heard...When are we ever going to hear these songs? It's been 16 long years since "Open The Door"...Please Please release a new album Roger 😀
My dearest favorite composer, musician and singer ever! Please, share some of those sixty songs! I'm sure they are amazing, even the shortest one! Hope you are all very well. God bless you all (Fernanda Salles - Brazil - SP)

Genius, genius, genius. One of the greatest musicians ever and very nice human being too. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, Roger Hodgson = Supertramp, although I love and respect Rick Davis too...
I can't believe there is Frank interviewed you alot is very awesome though especially when you are talented person who is nice to one of those fans lovers in the world this is miracle and of course won't forget about you Roger 😊 amazed maybe your singing voice and composed songwriter to write song and lots of great stuff like that I had to think of you while I have sweet dreams of 💤 you good night I 💗 nice guy Roger Hodgson and good luck
Supertramp for me was always the voice of Roger Hodgson. From the albums of the band I'm picking out preferably Roger's sensitive and delicate songs full of deep thoughts, that brought many questions and have led to thinking. Rick is undoubtedly a good musician and singer but the style of his songs and the interpretation is diametrically different from Roger's. They are two strong personalities but with completely different style. I think that nothing in our lives happens by chance, and everything and everyone matures - often through the pain, loneliness, misunderstanding, until come the one moment, and you suddenly know you must scoop up the courage, and make very hard decision. Withstand the loneliness and make a first step as if into the void, into the unknown, uncertainty, and get rid of that what enchains you, find your own way and gain freedom. It had to happen so that we could fully understand and enjoy Roger's songs in their purity and uniqueness that needed intimacy and uncovering of Roger's heart, his accompanying word, which helps us understand them even better, fuller. I love his simplicity in everything. Roger is able to answer the extremely serious issues of life extremely simple, clear and precise manner. Without unnecessary external ostentation. The less is theirs around him, the more his genius excels and greatness. The unity that was missing in the group, Roger created with his audience that understood him. And this is something wonderful, what you desire to experience again and again. It's like a heartbeat in the same rhythm. It is an inner unity. therefore is so deep and strong. I think that not the introduction of the new Roger´s songs is so important, but the new feelings of love and good , which the "old songs" wakes up deep inside of our hearts.
We loved supertramp in the 80's, fantastic band & songs, I know they did very well but I'm surprised they didn't become more famous. I always thought they we're American but their British & so am I. God bless Supertramp !!!
supertramp is famous, not sure how famous you expected them to be but i remember breakfast in american very well as a young man, they're right in there with all the other famous bands like genesis, pink floyd, yes etc.
I'm a big fan, my first LP I could buy was... famous last words... It's my favorite band even after decades and many bands (I'm 54). Every year I dream about that one day I will see a Supertramp show, year after year I have this dream. It's a pity that this common man and his common man grief can't get over it and give us the chance to see Supertramp again. I saw several interviews and reports from the 90s, 2000s, 2010s, now 2020s and it seems that he still wants to prove something. He is a star, a legend, he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone anymore. We love his songs, melodies, voice, piano and his lyrics. I wish he could forgive what ever he needs to and let himself also to be forgiven. Roger is a Supertramp (maybe the best one) but not "Supertramp". He'll probably take his grief to grave, pity. A real legend would go over all this, but a common man will die with it.
And if you have not listened to Roger live,go to his conncert: it is a very touching moment! He often says during his shows that the most important is love : it's exactly what you feel at that moment, and it's pure happiness...
"Crisis, What Crisis?" Is also my favorite with "Crime of the Century" in a close 2nd place, or maybe place 1b. I also still like the journey of an album. It is no less than taking time to watch a powerful movie, and those albums were definitely powerful in their complete experience. Little things like the transitions from song to song were something that I absolutely loved and still do.
Hello Mr Hodgson this is amazing fan girl Christina that video interview was wonderful is pretty cool 👌 at least I really your 💓 music so much absolutely incredible for supertamp group definitely is going to fun Part
Really interesting. I might be among the few who still value being "taken on a journey" through an album as opposed to listening to individual tracks. I was never as satisfied by those "best of" albums, they never meant as much to me as the stories found in the full LPs. I hope Hodgson continues to keep that alive, whether in concert (which I'd love to see one day!) or in upcoming albums.
this man is a genius, a pure talent and a magnificient person but unforunately he destroyed a beautiful and rare diamond called Supertramp...the connection between him and rick was magic et gave us plenty of great songs and high level of inspiration and sweet feelings ...supertramp could really rule the world of music for longs years, so this was a big loss for all the fans
Such a shame the RH gave up producing original material in the 1990s to concentrate on his concerts. He has said he has about 60 songs ready for recording but that was well over a decade ag
No !! He was an important part of Supertramp. Maybe Roger was the most important part. But where is the big success of Roger Hodgson after he left Supertramp ? Supertramp was not a one mastermind band and was neither a Hodgson band nor a Davies band. Both inspired each other and were creative minds. Sure, Hodgson wrote more hits, had the special voice and the catchy songs, but a lot of good songs came from Davies. f.e goodbye stranger, bloody well right, rudy, crime of the century, my kind of lady, gone hollywood, nervous wreck etc. And don't forget Helliwell's fantastic saxophone playing.
If only he could know of the thousands of hours of DRIVING to Supertramp. Those 40 minutes were the only way. It was bliss. Couldnt do it these days way too many speeding fines with all this end time Big Brother agenda cameras at every corner even on the open road too risky. Still another album or few really is the only the only way so we might still enjoy our private concerts wherever we might Just cant be done on youtube. Roger please dont fold to the ignorant masse" technology" Give us a disc that will stand the test of time.
I love supertramp, they were great, but it seems like roger is putting the rest of the band down, he's basically trying to say that "he is supertramp" putting his songs above ricks saying thats the real supertramp sound and that his music has stood up better, well thats his opinion but i like ricks songs every bit as much, bloody well right, nervous wreck, gone hollywood, rudy, oh darling, crime of the century, WTF he's acting like he alone was the supertramp sound, he's a big part of it, his songs certainly were very good and got radio play, but the entire albums were good, not just his songs, ricks were every bit as good, and ricks singing was unique just like rogers so he's obviously bitter, but he's the one who left the band and people wanted to ehar supertramp songs still, so he needs to stop the elitist talk, rick davies was every bit as talented as roger, easily, it was not a one man show, it was a collaboration and supertramp fans like all their songs not just roger's.

I like all 4 of them equally.

Take the long way home, my favourite song of all time.
