I grew up listening to Supertramp, and sister moonshine is one of the most emotionally pleasing songs of all time - as well as all other Roger songs - I don't think he's made a bad one yet!!! Roger, come to Cape Town soon and give a little bit!!!
A man and his guitar - nothing could be more simple, yet nothing could be so moving. Roger is totally enthralling in concert - nothing can compare to a man singing the songs he wrote to the people who he loves.
Sister Moonshine, Roger Hodgson, your the exceptional!! I love it to the max, since I got the LP back in the days and still to this day........Could listen to it over & over YAY!! Brings back lots of great memories better than todays soundz, crap!!
It's pretty easy really, all you've got to be is a great songwriter & a superb guitarist with a marvellous voice - oh yes, & total empathy with your audience. He's got it all.
I was born and bred on this. Utterly brilliant....brought back long forgotten memories and left me with tears in my eyes that I had no idea were there until they started to fall..
Went to a show in Philly last night and he played this masterpiece! Brought tears to my eyes. I had missed this song so much and didn't even realize it! Had a great time! He has the most amazing saxophone player with him too! Loved the show!
The reason for him being able to hit incredibly high notes is down to him being a tenor and a natural tenor at that. Beautiful voice, get better and better with age. He puts so much love and emotion into all the songs he sings. True musician.
you are a fucken idiot, he "hits" high notes by using cheap falsetto-like voice tricks and microphone and audio engineering tricks to make it more "powerful" and "thicker".
That maybe so but he's a tenor nevertheless. You only have to listen to him speak. He has high speaking voice, not a low speaking voice. He's a tenor, not a baritone. Tenor's tend to sing in head voice rather than with chest voice.
Luke Warren Yeah I didnt say he is a bad singer, my sisters actually like him a lot, but I think there are better singers out there that use head voice and have better technical skills...
Okay. He's definitely a tenor though. They're well known for singing in the head register. I admit his technique isn't the best. Can you or your sister's sing then?
I love Roger's music and it's so awesome that he's touring this year. I have seen his solo and band shows and I'm hoping to see an orchestra show this year.
Truly one of the great singer songwriters of our time. It wasn't so much a case of Roger being part of Supertramp as Supertramp being a part of Roger. I had the privilege of seeing him live during his UK tour in early 2013. It was like being back in 70's again. The tears were rolling down my cheeks. A magnificent evening. If he comes your way in the future then don't miss him. You'll love it.
still amazing songs and an amazing performer....still listening to his songs in 2019.......I think he loves Montreal.....must be a reason that he keeps coming back........I have been a fan ever since their first album......he is an amazing live performer........
I seen him in Casino Rama Nov.1st and 2nd he sounded just like that.If you get a chance to see him live you will be blown away!!!! I love you Roger!!!!!!!
Hi there Carolle, in case you didn't know, Roger is returning to Casino Rama this fall on Nov 14 + 15 and his tour page says details will be posted soon. www.rogerhodgson.com/documents/tour.html I hope you can make it, no doubt I'll be there!
This is so majestic and beautiful that I got tears in my eyes watching it. He sounds so amazingly great! And that 12 string. How good does that 12 string guitar sound. It's like the Wrigleys Double Mint Gum of guitars. :-)
Oh wow ... how I loved watching this and listening to it ! I used to have all the Supertramp albums . . (oh so many years ago .. ) Almost impossible to find songs listed under 'Supertramp' on TH-cam now ... Great that Roger Hodgson claimed his own rights to the songs that he wrote ! By the way, did you wistle along at the beginning ? I did ツ
Holy crap. I just looked up the GuildF50. A new one goes for $3000 here in the US! Don't know how many euro's that is. Guess I won't be getting one. lol Rodger Hodson is an incredibly nice guy. Maybe I can talk him into giving me one of his. :-)
Absolutely wonderful and magical. This music doesn't exists anymore, except the old heroes plays it. That tells much about our society.😭

Sister Moonshine gives me chills. Decades later, it still gives me chills. Thanks Roger.
one of supertramp and rogers greatest tunes makes me shudder the start of sister moonshine memories of the 70 s rm

one of my all time favorite songs, the man is brilliant, and sings with true heart
One of the things I like about him is that he really seems to enjoy it. Either that or he's a brilliant actor.

One of my favorite songs. From a great album with a great cover picture, Crisis, What Crisis?
I was in Catholic School and Sister Moonshine rocked that world to the truth!!
I seen him in Casino Rama Nov.1st and 2nd he sounded just like that.If you get a chance to see him live you will be blown away!!!! I love you Roger!!!!!!!

If you don't get goosebumps from 4:19 to 4:35 there's something wrong with you.
Asombroso
this song makes me think of Europe coming out of WW2
ME ARRIPIEI TODA CARALHO
