    16:59 It's the amount of food you eat at the end of the day after being hungry all day. You can reduce that feeling by eating less, or by lowering the amount of carbs.

    • @SamVimes27
      @SamVimes27 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +65

      Yes, definitely. You can easily do one meal a day and feel great after eating, you just have to eat normal stuff and not the junkiest junkfood I have ever seen in my life.

    • @sdfggdfg5fgdfg
      @sdfggdfg5fgdfg 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +29

      yes, with less or no carbs in your OMAD ( a big junk of meat) you won't feel the post meal coma quite as much
      But there could be a different problem where your digestive system can't stomach a lot of liquid rendered fat and makes you terribly sick. To combat that just keep the temperature below the rendering point of the fat. (dont make it well done, make it rare at like 50°C)

      @@ginj8134 I'm not starving myself. Not eating for 24 hours isn't difficult at all for me. I don't even do that for dietary reasons. It's as simple as it can get: I just rarely got hungry until 2 pm and that's two short of a time span for me to squeeze two meals into.
      For the rare occasions I just so happen to get hungry earlier, I always have good yoghurt, cranola cereal and fruits at home and at work.

      @@SamVimes27 I’m not saying that I’m saying that people who eat two to three meals a day just stopping all together and eating once isn’t good. Their body’s aren’t used to it and it can result in vitamin deficiency’s. Me myself am like you I don’t get hungry until late but I’m used to that. People like you and me aren’t starving ourselves by doing that because it’s what our body is used to and we get enough vitamins and nutrients. But other people don’t.

    the thing you mentioned about the meals at the end of the video!
    The way I fixed that issue for myself is by eating small things throughout the day. Instead of one big meal, I would eat like 5 small ones. What happens is that after your blood sugar is so low for so long, eating a meal makes it go up dramatically and then you get a big crash right after. The way to prevent it is to make sure you're not too low on your blood sugar for too long. If you eat small snacks then you also will still get the productivity of how you feel on an empty stomach.

    • @The_Tundra_
      @The_Tundra_ 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +47

      Unless you're a nutritionist, dietician or biochemist specialising in human diet, don't out give questionable advice about something you don't understand. Eating one meal and fasting IS actually better than having five small ones. while insulin in famous for keeping blood sugar low, we all also have glucagon, a hormone responsible for preventing our blood sugar from getting to low by releasing glycogen (stored sugars) that we all have in our bodies. If you want to eat five times a day you are welcome to it but digestion is a process that takes hours and the more often you eat the more often your body will be working on digestion, our bodies need a break too. Eating on an empty stomach after less time or more time will not make the insulin spike bigger. Spikes are caused by carbohydrates and most people think they need carbs for energy but they eat too much, often without adding sufficient fibre of fats to achieve balance. It also helps to eat fibre first then proteins and fats and carbs last where possible. several studies have shown the order in which we eat foods in a meal effects how we digest it. Snacking is ok if you are snacking on savoury high fibre snacks such as smoked almonds. The best way to feel good is to maintain a steady blood sugar level and this IS NOT achieved by eating lots of small meals. Fibre first, carbs last and doing a short amount of excercise after a meal (10-20 mins) which forces our muscle to uptake glucose and lessen the spike; acetic acid is a drink or salad dressing can also help slow down gastric processing of sugars. Always speak to a registered nutirionist when considering dietary changes or if seeking dietary advice and don't do random things people suggest online. Few actually understand the advice they are giving out.

    For the pizza crust:
    1 cup AP Flour (sifted)
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 tablespoons oil (vegtable is cheapest for me, so I use that)
    4 tablespoons of water (trying with more, but that is about all I can manage for some reason)
    That should roll out into a decent 12 inch sheet roughly a quarter to a half centimeter thick or so. Buying a costco 50lbs bag of flour for 20 dollars lasts for literal months for a single person, regardless if it's for pizza, pie, noodles, etc.

      As a "future nutrionist" you should probably be more concerned with him eating absolute garbage, way too much meat, an enormous amount of fat and a huge lack of vegetables. Y'know, that might be a little more impactful. Dude ate cheat meals for like a week straight.

    if you don't want a tranq dart for a meal I would recommend a light mid day meal to break the fast, I like salad with chicken and fruit and plenty to drink, with a massive meal before bed is what keeps me the most zapped
    especially with carb heavy meals the insulin spike and subsequent food coma will make you feel sluggish so if you want that feeling of not being food coma id recommend lighter more frequent meals, or keeping the large meal to the end of the day

    Being sleepy after eating may be a sign of your glucose spiking, which is not good on your insulin and hormones, maybe check with your doctor and do the blood test, but not only the glucose one, it may come up normal. Do the insulin levels before and after eating+ after 2 hours have passed, to see how it fluctuates.
    You can curb glucose spikes by eating in this order: 1. veggies/fiber 2. Proteins 3. Dessert (i.e. starches and sugar). Don't eat your carbs without protein and fiber. Also, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar diluted in a cup of water before meals will help too. Anyone who's interested, look up glucose goddess.

    • @sourcherrypie
      @sourcherrypie 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @kbrown3787 it's not that low carb. If he's already insulin resistant a big portion of food with moderate amount of simple carbohydrates can still spike the glucose and cause sleepiness.

    To make the best tzatziki, here is the recipe. For a kilo of yogurt you need one cucumber grated 4-6 cloves of garlic, salt, pepper, vinegar and olive oil. Grate the cucumber and add salt to it, leave it for 5-10 mins to release the juices that way you don't have to squeeze much, and it makes the tzatziki less watery. Put the cucumber in the yogurt add pepper, the garlic (I prefer it minced but grated is OK too) and almost equal amounts of olive oil and vinegar the tzatziki should be mildly peppery and garlicky (I overdo it sometimes). Stir it intensely with a fork and let it rest for at least 1 hour for the flavours to combine (better to leave it overnight).

    The green color in poultry comes from how they are caught and butchered. If they are stressed and chased around it happens. Most of the time it's the last half of the birds in a house. Those birds don't use their wings much except catch time. The green color has something to do with the extra blood rushing to muscles hardly used.
    They take those and sell them cheaper. There is nothing wrong with them but the color. The very last are the worst and those normally end up as stuff like mcnuggets.

    For your Chicago Style pizza, to avoid having your sauce char, drizzle a layer of olive oil on top of the sauce. To make it bigger, literally just add even more sauce and cheese. Then, to help the pie stay together, you can layer another very thin sheet of dough between the sauce and cheese.

    If gluten’s an issue for you, I totally see why you’d use a store-bought crust, but if you can eat regular flour and you have the time and energy, I highly recommend making your own pizza dough, it mostly just takes time. Mix together 3-5 ingredients and then let it rise (slight oversimplification but not by much). So much better than store bought that it’s worth it to me, and I have a really hard time mustering the energy to cook.

    Late to the party, but for the deep-dish/casserole: Pre-bake your pizza crust a bit. Or heat up the pan beforehand, either way. Just need to get some more heat in there since it's double layered with food on top, and double layered with metal and ceramic on bottom. Not sure how well the pizzastone works when it doesn't make direct contact with the dough, but hey, maybe it helps?

    OMAD + glucose control does it for me, have lost 20kg (110kg --> 90kg) so far and feel much better in general.
    I just try to eat a vinegary (1tbsp+ of apple cidre vinegar) salad first, then some sort of not-too starchy veggies, followed by protein, and finally the carbs and a desert. kinda flattens out the body's glucose response. for me personally that helped with energy post-meal and hunger levels in general.
