FYI: Dororo is one of the ORIGINAL anime back in the 60's that inspired pretty much all of the famous dark fantasy anime that followed it. That opening was for the recent remake from 2018 and it's definitely worth checking out.

The anime isn't that different than the opening, its not that dark of an anime.
The Death Parade OP is maybe 1 of 3 total openings/endings that I have enjoyed so much that I instantly became fans of the artist. The moment I heard Flyers when the show first came out, I became a Bradio fan for life, and still listen to everything they make to this day, even if none of their music afterwards was used in any anime.

Dororo is based on a manga from 50 to 60 years ago, and at that time the story was too dark to be popular, but now it is a manga that is being re-evaluated.
In order for the samurai lord's father to take over the world, the main character, who was just born, had all his body parts sacrificed and thrown away. However, it is a story about being picked up by a certain doctor and having weapons and prosthetic arms and legs attached to his body, and then regaining his body by defeating demons. It's a novel story that you can't believe it's from a long time ago, so I'd like Nicolas to see it.

Angel Beats was one of the first truly emotional anime I watched, and is definitely one of the anime I include in the list that truly got me into the genre.

My 1st emotional anime was Clannad and Clannad After Story. 1st time I ever cried watching anime.

Angel Beats was the 2nd one. Interesting enough both made by the same video game studio since they were games first then adapted to anime.
Death Parade lives up to its opening. It's only short, but it's one of the best anime ever made. It's dark, moody, funny, sad; it has great characters and twists of the story. Definitely worth watching.

Ay yo, Angel Beats and Anohana is the stuff that made my tearducts open. And they never closed in the whole 40 minutes of the last 2 episodes of both those animes.
Everything about Dororo is just beautiful from the story to art to the OP. Sucks Demon Slayer came out around the time so it flew under a lot of people's radar.

Death Parade and Angel Beats aren't mentioned much because they're more so remembered for their openings, they have two of the most popular and iconic openings of the early-mid 2010s, and more people know the openings than know anything about the show.

The ones who did the Death Parade OP, Bradio, are simply one of the most feel good bands in existence. No matter how awful my day is, if a Bradio song comes on, the day is instantly one of the best
my favorite comparison was that BRADIO is the Japanese equivalent of Bruno Mars, especially now that he's doing all that Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak
Dororo's intro is my all time favorite and the song is sooo good. I understand why some people don't like the drop/chorus, but I still love it as much as the first part, tho this is coming from someone who listens to electronic 24/7. The anime is amazing and the intro (or at least the first half) is as good as it, and I personally think it's your style but still incredible for everyone.

I think Overlord is exactly what Nicholas Light would love to watch! It would be my first recommendation to him, followed by One Punch Man. Also, No Game No Life is an anime I personally love, so I'd selfishly recommend it too xD
So there's an anime that I really enjoy called Durarara, each of the openings for it are so catchy and good that I just end up listening to them on loop randomly sometimes. Highly recommend checking out each of them at some point. The anime itself is really unique too and is one that I've watched multiple times.

I really hope Nick reacts to Angel Beats sometime because not only is the opening really pretty, the storyline is also super beautiful and emotional. The first time I actually watched/listened to the opening was only after I finished the show because I’d watch it in school and I had no earbuds, but watching the opening with all the clips from the show paired with the music and KNOWING what happens arguably made it 1000x more emotional and I loved it

@@Loryuo Kanon, Little Busters! and most notably clannad are all done by Key and mostly by Jun Maeda.
The others like Angel Beats!, Charlotte and Kamisama did get really rushed but can't be helped since he is not the best in anime format except for the three exceptions.
The place where Jun Maeda's true brilliance shines is the visual novels produced by key and even the first beat visual novel for Angel Beats! is a masterpiece compared to the anime which was rushed.If you play hios works then you will know the story, scenarios and characters he comes up with are pure genius but for anime like he said earliwe this year it is better if he only composes music since he is one of the best in that field as well.
So happy you listened to the first Angel Beats opening, it makes me cry practically every time. And the anime holds a special place in my heart.
Angel beats is a very comedic, action packed, and dramatic anime. The animation looks so good even though it has been a decade since it started. Sadly, the show didn't get a season 2 who knows why. There are only 13 episodes and 2 OVAs. Highly recommended.

I mean it kinda told its story in the first season. A second would be overkill. Also unlike Clannad which didn’t adapt the whole game in the first season, they put routes they didn’t adapt into the second season, which became the first half of After Story. Plus the unlocked extra story from completing all the routs in the VN which became the second half of after story.
Angel Beats is original. Thus without all the extra content to adapt. They finished it when it felt right tbh. Any more would be too much and may not be all that good because of it. It’s not like Visual Arts Key is 100% great all the time. Just look at things like Charlotte. 😐 like when you get good things and don’t expect more.

‘Crying for Rain’ from Domestic Girlfriend is a must react to. Listening to the full version would be better imo
Minami went hard are this one. You won’t regret it, heck it has a very high chance of being one your favorite openings.

Angel Beats has one of the most beautiful openings I've listened too. I would recommend the Clannad: After Story opening, its sung by the same artist.
The Death Parade opening is still sick, I never get tired to hear it. It gives you so good vibes that's insane. If you want an opening I promise you'll love it, you really should listen to the 1st one of Mirai Nikki. There are also the 2nd one of Fate/stay night : unlimited blade works and the 1st of Your lie in April that I highly recommend

All the Overlord openings are so great. I never skip them and added Op 3&4 to my playlist. I think 3 is my favorite but 4 comes close. 2 is my least favorite but it's still so good. Ed 2 is my favorite though

Op 1 is a Masterpiece
"My soul, your beats" still 1 one the best anime openings. Anime(s) now has kind of hype openings and put a lot of action in it. While "MS,YB" has a soft music tone, simple slide, and on top of that, the singer is LiSA, bringing the emotions into the song. Its really refreshing when listen to the song now.

Tbh Angel Beats has so many Powerful songs in the entire series that push it forwards and that perfectly fit in the scenes , that i recommend, if you like the opening you should hear the other songs aswell (not even for a video but a wholesome experience).

It's creator is known as "The Godfather of Manga", also famous for making Astroboy and other staples of Manga.
It took almost 50 years for a modern adaptation.
I recommend for intro reactions 1-Kiss of death (Darling in the franxx) and 2- The daily life of the immortal king season 2 and 3- Call of the night 4- Domestic girlfriend, and the intro for overlord intro you liked that's the intro for season 3 you can also check out the intro for season 1,2,4 and you should definitely watch overlord its probably my 3rd favorite anime of all time maybe even 2nd.
The Angel Beats opening brings so many emotions every time I hear it. Such an amazing song.

I like how we can tell that Nick is getting more famous ever since he started reacting to anime not just from the subs and the views but the fact that there are some channels even subbing his videos like an anime for others to watch.

Angel beats is maybe one of the first anime that has made me truly cry bc of it's entire storyline unlike other anime where it was certain scenes

You would absolutely love one punch man, it's a great anime with a great story, great action, and great comedy. Oh and of course the music is great as well. Its a classic superhero story except the main character is way too powerful and is just bored and it's so fun to watch.

Also forgot to mention that Death Parade would be a good anime to react to. Since you're enjoying Death Note, you will likely enjoy Death Parade as well. It's done by the same studio and has a similar feel to it. Death Parade is only 12 episodes long. And there is a Death Note Easter egg in episode 11.

If you want to experience a deeply existential and emotional journey I can't recommend Death Parade enough. Unfortunately it's a little underrated in the mainstream so people probably won't vote for it much.
It actually just started streaming on Crunchyroll, so hopefully more people will be able to experience it now! It really is an amazing anime, and it's one of my all-time favorites.

Absolutely LOVE Death Parade. It was one of the things I watched when I was first getting into anime and was consuming anything and everything, regardless of plot or quality. A diamond in the rough.

The Death Parade OP is one of the classics, everyone who I know loved it from the moment they heard it the first time. Meanwhile for some reason I see a lot of people not being fans of the Angel Beats OP which is just the strangest thing to me, although I have some bias towards it considering it's one of my first anime ever.
Youjo Senki has a banger OP and ED, highly recommend it (the OP is done by the same ppl as the Overlord OP you watched here, ED has the main character's VA singing)
same as Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei OP1 (LiSa - Rising Hope), never hear anyone talk about it but it's quite good
The Overlord opening is by Myth and Roid, and I would HIGHLY recommend listening to their other music because it's so amazing

i'm so glad you got to experience Voracity from overlord. as a whole, the music for that show is just top-notch, every single intro and even outro hits it out of the park. the anime itself may need a bit of creative censorship if you react to it, but other than that, i highly recommend it. season 4 (3? i forget) just started 2 or 3 weeks ago, too. Dororo is also a very good watch, it takes a closer look at what feudal japan was like, or at least more accurately than other anime. maybe that's a super niche market for anime, i dunno. regardless, it's the kind of anime you'll watch and get super invested in. i felt so empty after finishing it because the characters felt so real, and suddenly they weren't part of my daily routine anymore.
if you want some other intros that are super energetic, the first Soul Eater and Greatest Teacher Onizuka (yes, that's the whole name) intros come to mind. maybe Rising of the Shield Hero, but i'm not sure if you've seen that one yet. Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash was a good one, too, but the character design is super risque and probably wouldn't get monetized. such a shame, too, since the anime is so down-to-earth and personal, regardless of the copious amount of fanservice.
YES, I've been waiting for this. Honestly, I also feel the same way with the latter part of the 1st Dororo op.
If I have to pick one, I recommend the 2nd opening of 86. The singer also sings the 3rd op of My Hero Academia. Combined with the beautiful and dynamic animation, the opening is definitely a masterpiece imo.
Glad to see angle beats get a bit of recognition.

This is my favorite reaction video of yours, because all of these shows are amazing! FMA is incredible, One Punch Man is epic, Overlord is awesome, and Death Parade & Angel Beats will make you feel emotions that you never knew were were possible. I hope you end up watching all of these shows someday. =)
I hope you would do some reaction to the ending songs too. I really love Dororo's ending song. And some other endings like Fire force, Vinland Saga, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Uramichi Oniisan, Blood+. They might not be as exciting as the openings, but they are beautiful and emotional.
