I'ma be real, there were a few songs in here that are on my playlist and I had no idea they were from an anime (that early Vollyball one or Fire Force for example). Edit: Also, Domestic Girlfriend OP was absolutely deserved. Maybe even a bit higher. Bling Bang Bang Born was way to high. I love Creepy Nuts, the Song was pretty good (but far from their best work in my Opinion), but it's not a Top 10 Song. I'm surprise Rumbling is so high. I like SiM, I've listened to them since 2014 or so. Rumbling is a good Opening, but I feel like it's not a song you just put in your regular playlist (like Cowboy Bebop). Idol is a great Song, I love it and for now I don't disagree with the placing. However I don't think it has the same staying power as previous "Weeb Anthem's". Unravel was so insanely overplayed I literally hated it for a while until I got it out of my System after not hearing it for a few years. Cruel Angel's Thesis is so Iconic that it still places high after 30 years. And I don't think that Idol will stay this Iconic for such a long time.

From the Renai Circulation cover song to the official music video of inferno to the meme of Onegai Muscle and Duvet stealing the crown of spotify plays all the way down in 15th. And this isn't even counting all the views that got destroyed with fans posting up stuff over the last decades like anything by Larc en Ciel.
Some of this videos like Again by YUI just released the official version recently. Unnoficial versions were constantly getting striked and removed from youtube so the count is just wrong.
While other songs have the official mv for view on youtube, Renai circulation has to use the most view cover of an anime song ever that no one actually know that it's a cover. Took me 7y to realise it's a cover because of a certain nephilim's concert
It is interesting seeing the stream metrics. TH-cam = people want to watch the opening OR its old. TH-cam Music = people listening to it in modern times. Spotify = the go to listen for all of time. (Note: TH-cam Music launched in 2015. It wasnt until 2020 that it force replaced its Popular predecessor Google Play Music)

Le Pen lost at least lol
Grant casually making a 15 min vid to a 1,5 hour vid with the yapping.
Wasn't aware that Osu bros were responsible for the mainstream successes of Black Clover and Mrs. Green Apple
Time to stream Cruel Angel’s Thesis for the next month because what the hell is that
Domestic girlfriend clears
Bro got the yap-yap no mi. 😂 Turning a 15 min video into a 2 hour long vid 😂
No myth and roid is INSANE
I'ma be real, there were a few songs in here that are on my playlist and I had no idea they were from an anime (that early Vollyball one or Fire Force for example).
Edit:
Also, Domestic Girlfriend OP was absolutely deserved.
Bro.. UVERworld still so damn good. MHA AND the underworld babysitting orphanage anime thing. Their concerts are sick af too!
how can you call yourself a black clover fan and NOT hear the ops?? literally constant bangers.
As much I love how gigguk, man do i hate some of his op takes and how he skips some opening without even listening to them first time Or skip them before completely watching them by judging what kind of songs they are.
@@cluster4583 yeah he can def be a judge by the cover kinda guy sometimes. his two vids on black clover prove it.
It's wild seeing how things shake out when you take the top source of them.
Bro could not figure out how this list works. Most played and iconic are two different discussions
Angel beat doesn't have a song on Spotify nor TH-cam music. Only pirated one on TH-cam
Did i fell Asleep and i not See Code Geass Opening "Jibun Wuuuuu" ? Damnnnnnn!!!
Bro talked a lot of smack about some of the picks when Domestic Girlfriend's OP was famously more prominent than the anime
1:15:57 it's so joever, how is Eva op so low
Some of this videos like Again by YUI just released the official version recently. Unnoficial versions were constantly getting striked and removed from youtube so the count is just wrong.
Fun fact the Renai Circulation song (31 on this list) most view of this song is sing by a fan that become an hololive Vtuber.
I love watching gigguk's chat mald about the opening ranking 😂
my takeaway from this is that we all need to stream Again some more
Naruto, JJK, Bleach and Jojo's have only banger OP's man it's crazy
22:44 I was watching rent a girlfriend and during the op i heard my grandfather died so this song hits different
Naruto OP 2 is one of my favorite OPs of all time.
While other songs have the official mv for view on youtube, Renai circulation has to use the most view cover of an anime song ever that no one actually know that it's a cover. Took me 7y to realise it's a cover because of a certain nephilim's concert
With how things are going...Mashle Op 2 will climb to top 3 by the end of the year
The sheer difference between the views of Idol and JJK is 345,000,000, which beats out 100-29 on the list. Yoasobi is too OP
Vickeblanca is a really good singer ya know . Black rover and black catcher
Only Gigguk could make a 2 hour stream out of a 15 minute video lol
It is interesting seeing the stream metrics.
TH-cam = people want to watch the opening OR its old.
TH-cam Music = people listening to it in modern times.
Spotify = the go to listen for all of time.
(Note: TH-cam Music launched in 2015. It wasnt until 2020 that it force replaced its Popular predecessor Google Play Music)
whats really funny is on youtube, a renai circulation cover has like 166million views and almost nobody knows its a cover
1:34:40
How does he not think about the band's popularity? And maybe it's popular in Japan, where the anime is from?
Mrs. green apple currently have 1st, 3rd, 6th and 8th spot of Japan's spotify TOP50 chart and they didn't even release an album or anything. They're by far the most popular band in the country rn.
My Dearest is still iconic and one of my favorite openings
Frfr maybe half those Black Rover listens could be me I had a playlist of the OPs and EDs on loop for a *while*
somehow garnt turned a 15 min vid into a 2 hour vid and it was entertaining.
32:48
You're wrong Garnt, OP2 is better than OP1 because the full version includes the melody of OP1 :)
The only reason unravel is at 11 is because there are double "1"s
deadman wonderland, inuyashiki, angel beats not making the list is such a crime
I think Garnt just forgot what he was reacting to. It's not the most iconic, it's whatever has been streamed the most, very different
being iconic is neither based on opinion nor arguable
Did someone in his chat really say that vivid vice was a bad opening? Absolutely insane take
Rewrite was a banger on OSU, I guess that's where the popularity comes from
