Thanks for posting this and noting all the little stuff to watch out for. This helped me get mine out quickly and easily without breaking anything. I ended up re-soldering a couple points and mine came back to life.

So glad I found this bro, was about to spend $300 to get mine rebuilt because I was told if you switch clusters the cars vatts system won’t let it start🤦‍♀️ but I’m now going to order one for $90 bucks an slap her in

I dont belive the vatts has anything to do with the cluster if it does I have got lucky 6 times and I doubt I'm that lucky.

Thanks a lot for showing this as I just wanted access to the telltale lights. I got to where the cluster was coming out, but I wasn't brave enough to just pull on it lest I break something. Thanks to you, I know it's just an electrical connector that'll come out with some extra force and jostling. The tidbit about the mileage is helpful as well. I actually own two 1995 Fleetwood Broughams, one I've had for 18 years and the other I bought two years ago (both with no dashboard cracks!). The more recent one shows really high mileage, but the car looks and feels like it's much lower and mechanics I've talked to cannot believe it has what the odometer says. I was curious if the mileage was stored in the car or in the cluster, and you answered that question I've had for the last couple years as well! Thanks again!

Hey Dan, I appreciate you doing this how to videos because I do most of my own repairs on my cadillac's. How do I go about replacing the wire or string on the shifter indicator? My broke off and I've tried different ways how to fix it but continues to break? Any suggestions would be great or even a tutorial on that would be awesome. Thanks

  • @briancraig81

Mines comes and goes. I can tap the front with my fingers and it will come back. Sometimes only a couple minutes, sometimes a day. I used to fly over railroad tracks. Do you think the connector just needs to be re-seated?

    • @thecadillacdanshow8658

Could be on the start if going out the one in my tan Fleetwood would not work and you could hit the dash pad and it would start working then eventually gave up and stopped working all together

Do you happen to know if this is common for the Fleetwood hearse as well? My cluster is out, all fuses are good, i have replaced the timer, it works when I mess with the sentinel timer then goes black again! Also will a regular Fleetwood fit the hearse? TY any help is appreciated

    • @thecadillacdanshow8658
