Yes sir you are the man. I didn't have the piece that the sensor goes on top of. The one you dropped on the floor that connects to that yellow thing inside the transmission housing
I got a 97 deville that I got a code for a speed sensor and it been shifting ruff and the speedometer isn't working ...is the speed sensor in the same location and how many speed sensors are there
Would you have happens to have pictures or something for the wire by the alternator? Or is it the whole wire assembly your talking about from the sensor all the way up to the pcm?
Let me ask you a question please. I have a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood that runs like a top, except the instrument cluster one day started dimming and then it went completely dark. Nothing was lit up, completely dark. I replaced the Instrument Cluster circuit board with a circuit board from junk yard and it worked.. It lit up totally and it showed the gas gauge correctly, but speedometer, although is lit up, it is not working, stays on "0" nor are odometer or the short trip odometer is working. Any suggestion on what to do to get the actual speed to show up, and to show the actual mileage and the small trip odometer. Much appreciated. Thank you
sam rafeedie That means that your cluster went out go to the junkyard salvage yard and buy another cluster that very simple to put in... here in Virginia you can probably get one for $50 I don't know what state you live in. One more thing you might have to have it programmed once you put it in.. I hope you find this information helpful have a great Christmas.

Carlos Valdes Carlos, when my cluster malfunctioned it didn't just stop reading the speed and the odometer, it actually died electrically and completely, it was as black as midnight. There was absolutely no power to it. If the problem was with the sensor would the cluster lose all power to all functions in the cluster. What's your opinion?
Exactly what happened to me wondering if you can put one of those Color Game boy speedometers in it and was searching for the manual gas gauge also just forget the damn dash I think someone should know how to make a manual speedometer and a manual gas gauge

The speedometer sensor cable was broken. Fixed cable and shifting gears.
@@epl201 repaired broken speedometer sensor wire between transmission and up behind alternator. Now transmission shifts gears and speedometer works
