@@marioraullopezgarcia928You think technology makes an engine better? If anything, engines with less technology have proven to be more reliable over the years. The most reliable diesel engines in pickups were made in the 90's and early 2000's.
6.0 sounds the best
I agree! the 6.0 can have a deep and a high-pitched sound depending on how much gas you give it.

Everyone knows the 6.0s iconic sound Early 03-04 6.0s have a bigger camshafts and a bigger / louder turbo's then the 05+ came with. Then paired with a pilot injection tune like they originally rolled outta the factory with in 03' but did away with due to a stupid theory of possible premature injector wear vs the wear and tear on the overall motor yet the 6.0 idled and revved up way smoother, ran cooler more power and lower emissions Like mine does
Part of me loves the 6.4 but id pick early 6.7 and 6.0 as best sounding

Love the diesel clatter of the 7.3. 6.0/6.4 sound pretty good. Exhaust sound on 6.7 is least favorite.
I like the injector sound on the 7.3.

@@ictdpowerstroke4591, you’ve clearly never worked on a 6.4L in that regard. The 6.4L is by far the worst of the powerstrokes and many well known people in the industry would say the same thing.

6.0 with 5” exhaust is perfect to me. The sound you don’t like is music to my ears.
Gets old real quick with the 5”, especially towing a trailer. I’m swapping my 6.0 to 4” today 😂
@@dash456789 different strokes for different folks. They guy before me modified the turbo, and I’ve got a killer 6.0 turbo wine as well.

Thats exactly what i said in a comment. He never had one....6.0 all day turns heads when lined up with them all on the spot. Go to a truck meet for powerstroke, they all drool at the 6.0s😂
6.0s are garbage. They blow up and you have to rebuild them. I know someone that has a 6.0 and it blew up 3 times and he rebuilt it the third time
@@PJsoutdoors im at 289,000 same drivetrain, i run rotello and amsoil fully decat deleted from turbo back straight pipe free flow, studed heads, egr delete, cold air intake pushing a little over 800 torque and i abuse it every now and then, done coast to coast driving from calgary alberta back to texas, it's like they say, some people is not keen enough to handle european cars such as m5 e60 or m5 f10 if they don't know what to look for in regards to preventive maintenance, and if an individual purchased an abused truck or car without doing the proper inspection, oh well, I've even had a driven 6.4 powerstroke studed and cat delete downpipe egr delete, people gotta have money for some vehicles

@@PJsoutdoors sounds like your friend does not know what maintenance is. Or he runs a hot tune without the right supporting mods. So it's a him problem not the truck.
and anyone that says 6.0 are unreliable basically you're saying you couldn't afford to bulletproof it completely, mines is 2004 over 260k miles t4 rotelo motor oil, amsoil tranny oil running strong and i beat it up to 100mph plus every so often
The only good 6.0s are the ones that you take care of or bulletproof
There is no competition here everyone knows the 7.3 and 6.0 powerstrokes sound the best.

I like the sound of the 6.9/7.3 IDI until it lugs and sounds like a 460 big block. Other than that I'll always love the classic sound of a 7.3 powerstroke driving down the road.

my dad owns a 6.4 power stroke with a big turbo and it has had no problems at all because he drives it like it should be and sounds better then any 6.7
Personally, for power the 6.7 has it, for Sound it's the 6.0 for me
The 6.0 has the best sounds and i only say that because i haven't heard a 7.3 in person enough to compare it to the 6.0
As some who has owned both, the 6.0 sounds way more aggressive.
Just got a 6.4. Legit a mix of the 6.0 roar and has the howl of the early 6.7.
Not a Ford fan, but 6.0L For me because the school buses back then when I was in elementary and middle school (I am now graduated of high score, about to be 2 years since.), the engines were mostly 6.0L Powerstroke for Ford. (And also there was Chevy buses with 6.6L Duramax.)

6.0 gives that true diesel sound newer diesels just can't provide
7.3 OBS single shot injectors have the best start up and idle
As a bonus, with single shots, your neighbors around the entire block will know exactly what a 7.3 Powerstroke idle sounds like.
Its close between the 6.0 and 6.7 for me. 7.3 was my first diesel, I drive a 6.7 now. But a bullet proofed 6.0 is hard to beat.

I feel like the stock 6.7 s or at least the new ones just sound way too quiet for a diesel but I think the 6.0 and 7.3 sound the best

The 6.4 can unleash a ton of power by far faster then any of the power strokes with a tune but 6.4 is a problem child which sucks

I got a 04 6.0 with a garret 88 mil 9 blade or 11 blade not sure with a cat delete 4inch st pipe sounds like a jet cant beat um i go in next week to put another turbo on the pedestal broke. Ford did a good job on those garret turbos
I'm not Impressed with the 6.7 sound but the 7.3 then the 6.0 are hands down
you used a 6.4 without a full exhaust id blow the doors off that 6.7

6.4 delete the exhaust to a 6 inch pipe with a tip and there you go know problems with the 6.4 just saying i own one and thats all i did :)
The only people who hate in 6.4s are people that don't own one . 6.4s are very reliable 210k on mine

If you love the sound of a 6.7 Powerstroke, just wait until you hear a Duramax. 6.0/6.4's sound the best, closely followed by a 7.3 with a ported turbo housing, and then the Duramax...I mean 6.7 Powerstroke.

6.0 sounds the best adding a kc 10 blade bigger injector my opinion is the best power stroke
The 03 6.0
The 6.0 is debatably more unreliable than the 6.4 without a $9,000 bulletproofing job being done to it. Just delete the 6.4 and the problems seem to go away unless you got an unlucky “sand” block or drag race every Honda you see at stop lights on hot tunes. 6.4 are not short on power. 😹
In my opinion, the 6.0 definitely has the best sound. I drive a 6.4 and my brother has a 6.0 and I’ve always envied the sound of his truck over mine.

@ictdpowerstroke4591 the 6.4 just isn't reliable at all. Literally all the 6.0 mainly needs is the egr deleted. But but obviously head studs for sure to and after that it's much better. 6.4 I would never own it's literally a 150k mile engine lol
6.0 7.3 6.7 6.4. 6.4 the exhaust on the 6.7 at idle, the turbo “whistle” just sounds like a bunch of air passing through. Really hardly any whistle. Now when you get on it and get off it sounds good, but just at idle it sounds like crap. 6.0 is the best sounding. Turbo whistle is un-matched. I think 7.3 is a more balanced sound when it comes to exhaust/ diesel rattle. 6.0 can sound like a wet fart after a Taco Bell dinner at times but just can’t get over the turbo whistle.
Early 6.7l and laye 6.7l ever different in sound. Especially the turbo...

I have a zf6 In my 7.3 superduty I use for towing. I'm running a Gtp38r with the stock
.84ar housing . I'm not sure if you've ever heard one but its extremely loud. My wife doesn't like the windows even cracked because it hurts her ears but it's like music to mine.😂 I think its important to note that there is a exhaust and intake sound . My gtp38r is loud on the intake but has a mild exhaust whistle sound and this can vary from the different powerstrokes you've mentioned. I was running a kc300x 63/73 and it had an amazing exhaust turbo whistle but was quiet on the intake side. I had to swap it out because it was so laggy for the zf6.
The best sounding powerstroke is a 6.6 duramax

6.0s sound the best. The early 99 super duty 7.3s have an amazing turbo sound. The build date 1998 of August 7.3 that I had, that turbo screamed.

What’s crazy is I used to say 6.0 Best sounding diesel ever made, which most agree with. But after some time, I’ve kind of grown to like the 7.3 better. Now I think the 6.0 just sounds like an average gas V8 with turbo whistle. 7.3 has that 🇺🇸 diesel sound. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but the 7.3 is better sounding than the 6.0 in my eyes now.

Those 6.7 ones were actually and honestly the worst sounding ones. If you want to have a diesel engine for the sound, you should get a diesel engine that actually sounds like a diesel engine... not whatever the heck the 6.7 sounded like.
