Everyone knows the 6.0s iconic sound Early 03-04 6.0s have a bigger camshafts and a bigger / louder turbo's then the 05+ came with. Then paired with a pilot injection tune like they originally rolled outta the factory with in 03' but did away with due to a stupid theory of possible premature injector wear vs the wear and tear on the overall motor yet the 6.0 idled and revved up way smoother, ran cooler more power and lower emissions Like mine does
6.4 is one of the most beautiful trucks ever made. Right up there behind a dent side. Even has a modern interior. Unfortunately connecting rods and turbos have left the chat. Pair that with DPF and EGR smh. All that could have been….
my dad owns a 6.4 power stroke with a big turbo and it has had no problems at all because he drives it like it should be and sounds better then any 6.7
I like the sound of the 6.9/7.3 IDI until it lugs and sounds like a 460 big block. Other than that I'll always love the classic sound of a 7.3 powerstroke driving down the road.
Not a Ford fan, but 6.0L For me because the school buses back then when I was in elementary and middle school (I am now graduated of high score, about to be 2 years since.), the engines were mostly 6.0L Powerstroke for Ford. (And also there was Chevy buses with 6.6L Duramax.)
and anyone that says 6.0 are unreliable basically you're saying you couldn't afford to bulletproof it completely, mines is 2004 over 260k miles t4 rotelo motor oil, amsoil tranny oil running strong and i beat it up to 100mph plus every so often
You should ad that the 11-14 6.7 is the only one with external waste gate giving you that sound. 15 up turbos were internal and don’t have the blow off sound.
Never had any diesel pull beside me that sounds better than my 6.0. not even Semi's 🚛. They look in shock. Mine has a Really loud Turbo and all stock 07 6.0

@@PJsoutdoors im at 289,000 same drivetrain, i run rotello and amsoil fully decat deleted from turbo back straight pipe free flow, studed heads, egr delete, cold air intake pushing a little over 800 torque and i abuse it every now and then, done coast to coast driving from calgary alberta back to texas, it's like they say, some people is not keen enough to handle european cars such as m5 e60 or m5 f10 if they don't know what to look for in regards to preventive maintenance, and if an individual purchased an abused truck or car without doing the proper inspection, oh well, I've even had a driven 6.4 powerstroke studed and cat delete downpipe egr delete, people gotta have money for some vehicles

I got a 04 6.0 with a garret 88 mil 9 blade or 11 blade not sure with a cat delete 4inch st pipe sounds like a jet cant beat um i go in next week to put another turbo on the pedestal broke. Ford did a good job on those garret turbos
not a ford guy not a diesel guy, but 7.3 stock 6.0 with a big cam my buddy built a big cam 6.0 many years shifted at 6000 sounded almost like a hot rodded gas big block and would lay smoke thick enough to make it rain diesel.
6.0 7.3 6.7 6.4. 6.4 the exhaust on the 6.7 at idle, the turbo “whistle” just sounds like a bunch of air passing through. Really hardly any whistle. Now when you get on it and get off it sounds good, but just at idle it sounds like crap. 6.0 is the best sounding. Turbo whistle is un-matched. I think 7.3 is a more balanced sound when it comes to exhaust/ diesel rattle. 6.0 can sound like a wet fart after a Taco Bell dinner at times but just can’t get over the turbo whistle.
What’s crazy is I used to say 6.0 Best sounding diesel ever made, which most agree with. But after some time, I’ve kind of grown to like the 7.3 better. Now I think the 6.0 just sounds like an average gas V8 with turbo whistle. 7.3 has that 🇺🇸 diesel sound. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but the 7.3 is better sounding than the 6.0 in my eyes now.
If you love the sound of a 6.7 Powerstroke, just wait until you hear a Duramax. 6.0/6.4's sound the best, closely followed by a 7.3 with a ported turbo housing, and then the Duramax...I mean 6.7 Powerstroke.
I personally love the 6.4 the most .the 6.0 and 6.4 sound fairly close , a non vgt 6.4 sounds like a 6.0 on steroids. 6.7s with straight pipe sounds clapped
Id say based of pure exhaust sound, it goes 1. 6.4 2. 6.7 3. 6.0 4. 7.3 The 6.4 just sounds like a more gnarly 6.0 when tuned but i cant get over how the 6.7s turbo howls all throughout the rpms
The 6.0 is debatably more unreliable than the 6.4 without a $9,000 bulletproofing job being done to it. Just delete the 6.4 and the problems seem to go away unless you got an unlucky “sand” block or drag race every Honda you see at stop lights on hot tunes. 6.4 are not short on power. 😹 In my opinion, the 6.0 definitely has the best sound. I drive a 6.4 and my brother has a 6.0 and I’ve always envied the sound of his truck over mine.
@ictdpowerstroke4591 the 6.4 just isn't reliable at all. Literally all the 6.0 mainly needs is the egr deleted. But but obviously head studs for sure to and after that it's much better. 6.4 I would never own it's literally a 150k mile engine lol

My 2004 fully bullet proofed I sold at 478,000 miles and it ran for another 70k miles before it blew up

6.0s are garbage. They blow up and you have to rebuild them. I know someone that has a 6.0 and it blew up 3 times and he rebuilt it the third time

6.0s sound the best. The early 99 super duty 7.3s have an amazing turbo sound. The build date 1998 of August 7.3 that I had, that turbo screamed.
6.4 is the most unreliable and the 6.7 sounds good deleted but not good stock
