  • This is a paid AD. Jamie’s sweet and sour Bakewell Tart recipe has a praline style frangipane filling deliciously lifted by the sharpness of the sour cranberry jam base all finished off with a beautifully zingy St Clements drizzle. Go on, treat yourself!
(Roll your pastry to 5mm thick not 2cm thick!! Sorry. x)

Just in case anyone makes a mistake....at 1:05 it says to roll out to 2cm thick.......I think its meant to be 2mm thick....or that would be one very thick pastry casing lol. Great recipe Jamie, I've been looking for a good bakewell tart recipe. I love the fact that youve used walnuts and hazelnuts instead of almonds. Looks incredible. And your new kitchenware looks beautiful....a perfect colour for my kitchen....yippeeee! Lee x

Lol, that's exactly what I was thinking too, heehee......Now I love my pastry but I think a 2cm thick tart might be a bit much, teehee. Lee :)

Good spot! We've clearly eaten too much Bakewell Tart and it's gone to our heads. It should be 5mm thick. Check out the full recipe here: www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/fruit-recipes/sour-cranberry-bakewell/#dAO5mETQaFeezhxL.97 x

Lol.....no problem. I love pastry as much as the next person......so wouldn't mind a 2cm thick pastry crust.....but 5mm sounds better, heehee. Lee :)

I never rate trimming the pastry case before it goes in the oven - even with the beans, the edges still shrink back (as they did here) and make the whole thing look a little messy. I rate it when doing 'rustic' tarts - as with this recipe - but I still think it's preferable to leave excess and trim afterwards. Much love, and I enjoyed this recipe x

Is there any alternative that I can use? Second: this recipe seems like a summer dessert. When Fall comes, can I add ground cloves or ground cinnamon to make it more Wintery? Sorry for the long comment, thanks!
