- I show you the process of replacing the lamp on my Sony WEGA LCD Projection TV and I try to entertain you along the way.
TV: KDF-50WE655
Lamp: XL-2100
• 00:00 Starting up Sony before replacement
• 00:36 Donkey Kong Country music
• 01:08 Setting up the replacement
• 01:43 Taking off the panel
• 03:20 Taking out old lamp
• 04:38 Installing new lamp
• 05:21 Snapping panel back on
• 05:48 Testing the results
This TV is a giant and I felt like the screen was dim so I decided to replace the bulb. I ordered it and spent some time figuring out how to take off the panel to get to the original lamp. It was a quick and easy process.
I bought this Sony at a garage sale for $20 and it came with the stand that's in the video.
The VHS tape that was played in the background was Donkey Kong Country: The Legend of the Crystal Coconut (1999). - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Sweet, Love the set up.
It’s been fun creating this space for all of these neat things!
Exelente video muy intructivo!!!!/
Glad you enjoyed!!
freaking cj at the end haha i love gta nice video :)
Haha yeah GTA is a classic. Glad you enjoyed - thanks for watching!
Oh wow I have the same RCA Truflat but I have the 20” version. That one appears to be either 24” or 27”. I love the Truflats, retro games look gorgeous on them. Great job man
Yeah that RCA is one of my favorites - the colors are brilliant. It's a 20" but I think my camera was sitting lower than it so it looks huge haha - the perfect size in my opinion for what I use it for. Plus easier to move around if needed!
Thanks!!! Haven’t used mine in over 5 mths and went to turn it on yesterday and lamp light was on and couldn’t figure out where it was at…Glad to know someone else Sony was still in business being that it is almost 20 years old lol
Yeah it's wild it's still working! Great TV - just a mammoth!
thanks bro
🤙🏻
Donkey Kong Country VHS, in the background. It's crazy it was Paramount that did the show. XD
Glad you noticed! It was fun incorporating that VHS tape - it's one of my favorite finds.
@@JaWayne& that my friend, is why I'm glad to be a 90's & 2000's kid! It's even Crazy, that it was done by Paramount too! 👀
Yeah that's wild haha
I love so a great ctr 🥰
I'm great fan for old ctr!
I'm from Germany and You?
Texas! And yeah this was a LCD Projection TV that I thought was a CRT. So the image wasn't quite as vibrant but it was lighter and bigger. I love the Sony CRTs tho!
that button isso satisfying
It's like a dream button hahah
0:00 Do such TVs exist?
Yes, I found one at a garage sale and didn't realize that it was an LCD Projection TV - I've never had one before.
How good work retroconsoles on this tv?
They're decent - I would say maybe try the era of PS2, Gamecube, Wii - when they were starting to have widescreen formats. I would say that the CRTs (a tube technology) would display the older stuff better! Hopefully someone sees this and can correct me if I'm wrong haha
@@JaWayne Yeah, CRTs are typically the better option as most other rear projection tv's can have way worse results due to having 3 B&W CRTs for each color causing a more washed out picture and the shelf life isn't as great. Rear projection tv's typically have great sound though same with some higher end Trinitrons.
