Nice update mate and all the best with the new garage. I bought my first BMW 330d (N57) in November last year and I watched so many of your videos before and after the purchase! I think your videos and content are great and I am really appreciative of all the knowledge you share in a very easy to understand and follow format. You come across like a sound bloke as well 👍🏻
It's definitely the right decision, George. Get your garage in with a 2 post lift and make your life and working on the cars so much easier and more enjoyable. 👍
I've been working on and have owned BMW's since 1988, and have watched them turn into unreliable needy shitboxes. Not the ones I've owned or maintained but as a marque. Nothing leaks oil, breaks an engine or throws up a warning light or fault code quite like a BMW (see also VAG). Selling that lot is a wise move. You've become a slave to it. Do what I do and have old (proper) BMW's as a toy but have a boring Toyota as a daily. I still own my garage, but customer BMW's rarely get past the door. Life is too short.
Good man George, your cars, your choice, I like how all the cars are so different from each other. But onwards with your plans. I’d be very interested in seeing your garage build by the way, then get an M50d BMW and on we go 🤩
I’m a viewer and subscriber all the way from South Africa. Watching your videos for quite some time and some helped me out a lot like removing the swirl flaps from my e46 330d. Just one thing can I enter for that stunning 130i from South Africa
Unfortunately George the amount you have spent on the 7.60Li v12 over your years of ownership has no reflection at all on the actual value of the car. If you give it a really good detail (it's a bit grubby) it's value is between £8000 and £10000 at most. Good luck with selling it. The big old BMs are a niche market that's for sure. Have you considered putting it in one of the many classic car auctions, put a reserve on it. If nothing else it will give you an idea where it's sitting in the market. Enjoy your content, been with you since the Mini engine rebuild. Find it very funny every few months you threaten to sell all your cars, we all know by now you're not going to lol
Appreciate you watching Chris.. They’re all for sale at the right price now whereas before I wanted to keep the 130i. If no one is interested in the 760 then I will keep it because it’s only going to increase in value long term. It’s the last naturally aspirated V12 BMW ever made👍🏻
I’d keep the old shark nose….. great project….keep ya planted as well 😂👌🏽……best of luck with the sale on the others….. I’d love the v12…… when I was your age I had a 420G jag….. biggest set of wheels out there 😉
Shame but know where you are coming from. Onwards & upwards but don't really see how the channel could be better ! Good luck mate. hope I win the 130 then I could sell it and buy the 760 lol !
I know where your coming from bud its an expensive game building a dream garage mine cost thousands and that was just tooling it out lol, so yeah I get the sale but personally think you might kick yourself later down the line with selling the 130i , but wish you well bud 👍
I won’t have any regrets, I’ve taken the car all over Europe, on the stelvio pass, on the Nurburgring and now I just don’t drive it much so it’s time for someone else to enjoy it!
Hi George, as I mentioned in another comment I’m interested in project KFC. I have another proposal this time, would you be interested in a swap with another project car, most likely the engine needs to be rebuild. It might be good content for your channel. I have bought a relatively rare combination non-runner, crank but no start, E91 M57 (the famous 6-cylinder diesel 231hp and 500Nm stock) Manual gearbox, panoramic sunroof, black. so the engine turns but it doesn’t start. I’ve tested the compression and cylinder 1 has no compression and all the other 5 cylinders have low compression. To me it sounds like timing chain jumped (210.000miles). The timing chains are located at the front of the engine which makes it easy to access. I’ve removed the rocker cover and to my surprise all rockers seem intact, which might indicate that the damage is limited to valves. I also suspect a blown head gasket as I have found water in the oil filter. The car has a ton of paperwork, previous owner had it for 8years, dualmass flywheel and clutch are almost new, brakes are very good, tyres are good, Bridgestone, 3 keys, I have loads of pictures from the previous owner with maintenance over the years. I would love to rebuild the engine myself (I’m an automotive engineer) but I don’t have a garage or a covered area to work protected from the elements and I’m also struggling to find the time as I have a 2-year old, so I’m having to sell it, reluctantly, as it is. Despite the reluctant sale, I’m still interested in owning an E91 like yours as a family car. I live in Bulkington just outside Coventry, let me know please if you would be interested. Thank you for taking the time to read this comment and I look forward to hear back from you. Regards, Florin

Thanks for nothing George would of been nice for reply and a bit of advice but as my comment isn't about your crappy garage build or your location in the UK if the question was too complex for you ya should of said but don't worry your self too much about as I've sorted it but I won't be following you or your channel no more thanks for nothing again 😢😢😢
What are you talking about? Lol I can’t always respond to comments straight away.. I’m not a customer service agent waiting to answer any questions you have about your car
@@GeorgeAusters Great! Mine is exactly the same.... Will change oil and see if makes a difference! It sounds as though its somewhere on the top of the engine (injectors?) rather than the chain, but its exactly the same sound.
It’s irrelevant on what the car owes you. The market price of the car is just that. A well maintained car will make it easier to sell but just because you have spent £10k on it doesn’t make it worth more.
You could also consider hiring your cars to your viewers for the duration of the build so you get some income but also get to bring your babies home afterwards!

I think that's a great decision. Use the funds to finance the garage and then take the motoring content to another level.
