Logan's Run Filming Locations - Escaping The Mouse - ETM-655 Today we check out some of the filming location for the 1976 movie "Logan's Run" which was shot in and around Dallas.
I remember it so well, I was one of the extras in the movie. Michael York moved to Dallas this past year or so ago. I still have a few of the props like the glass Michael York was drinking from. I was an extra in some of Dallas series, in Corky, West World and a few others. I tried to get in on the Alamo movie and even had my own costume and an authentic Brown Bess 3rd Model, powder horn from Spanish Colonial era that had actually been used by a Mexican soldier at the real Alamo battle. I was turned down saying I wasn't dark skinned enough. go figure
That's neat! Was it really filmed at the local mall that the director liked the architectual style of? The movie was truly ahead of it's time (not just saying that because of the holgram, rim shot) and paved the way for Star Wars and the rest of the genre that still continues to this day. No Logan's Run, no Alien or any of the others.
I am from North Dallas, and was asked to be an extra as well, but, turned them down. I remember OZ, the nightclub, The Galleria, Valley View mall, Fort Worth Water Gardens, The Zales building, etc. It was amazing to see Dallas, in a futuristic movie like, Logans Run. Michael York, lived in North Dallas near my home, as did Don Henley.(Dirty Laundry). A Nieghbor, who was an extra in the movie, made friends with York and Henley after the movie Logans Run premiered. (We were rich kids, so we could do things like that!!!) Why do you think they picked Dallas as the location...🤔
As a Texan, I am a big fan of Logan's Run. Nowadays, most movies filmed in America are just filmed in California. I have actually been to the Fort Worth Water Gardens multiple times before I had even heard of "Logan's Run."
The beginning scenes with the sandmen chasing the runner were shot in the “Great Hall” of the Dallas Apparel Mart. I spent a lot of time in that building and that hall as I was the assistant project manager for the demolition of the Apparel Mart in 2006-2007. I have a bunch of pictures somewhere showing the Great Hall being demolished. That demo job was my first job out of college. Apparently a lot of people were fond of that place. Sorry I tore it down. 😬
I do remember that movie very well. And I love the scene with the waterfall especially when they all came out and saw the old man and he was so happy to see so many people having been alone all that time. Thanks for another great video
I was a kid in elementary school and I remember seeing Logan's Run at the LaHabra drive in LaHabra California with my family. It was advertised STARRING FARRAH FAWCETT MAJORS!!!! She had like a 5 minute part?? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂. Me and my friends use to run around pretending to be sandmen hunting runners. Oh the memories. Thanks for sharing
Until I saw this video on TH-cam. I always thought that was one of the most dramatic scenes in the movie as well Thanks for finding it I was always curious about that.
So, I didn't read every response, but i hope someone pointed out that a pretty good chunk of Logan's Run interior shots were filmed inside the yet completed Hulen mall in South Fort Worth. The mall was empty and void of retailers at the time and lent itself well for a futurstic backdrop and can still be visited to this day.
This is really cool. Thanks for sharing. I’m amazed that they haven’t shut the active pool down or refused people to enter, put a bunch of guard rails up etc. I’m glad it still looks like it did decades ago. I remember climbing those as a kid
There are two other famous Dallas locations from that film. I forget its name, but one is a futuristic shopping mall. There's also a nightclub, at the time called "Oz." I dated a girl who was an extra there and was also one of the nudes "Box" had frozen. She's the tall redhead you see behind him in a couple of shots.
One of the locations you mention may be a building my mom worked in for a couple of years in the late 70s until 81, I think. I also worked a temp job there for a couple of weeks over Christmas break in 1980 or 81. The building was on the east side of Interstate 35 and south of LBJ, but it was north of the World Trade Center. I believe Delta Airlines reservations services had offices in the building. It was built in the early 70s and looked very futuristic. It was white and looked kind of like a step pyramid on the outside. It had an open atrium that went up for several stories, and the first floor had a water feature running through it with landscaping and big carp in it. I've looked around online, and I can't find pictures of it. I don't know if it's even there still because I haven't been down that way for awhile. Anyway, I believe there are both exterior and interior shots of the building in the movie. I'll have to watch it again and see if I can spot them.
@@20thcenturyrelic Gosh, that pyramid building was in a "then & now" video about "Logan's Run." They showed the interior and what's left of the water feature. Maybe you can find it with those search words. All the best!
I remember visiting the Water Gardens many times as a kid growing up in Ft. Worth. I remember even as a kid wondering how it was allowed, because that center was 6 or 7 feet deep with a small drain in the middle. When it was fixed (from what I understand), it was made 2-3 feet deep and the drain is much larger and screened so there's no strong central suction. Also, I went to a gala dinner just several years ago in the large vestibule at the Trade Center. It's still an odd looking place, with floors and the strange wall features like the movie.
I have the 1st 2 books by William Nolan, Logan’s Run and Logans World. I found the 3rd book Logans Search a couple of days ago on Amazon. Paid a high number for it but I loved the first 2 books, so well done. The movie with Micheal York and Jessica Agutter is one of my favorites. Thank you for posting this. Someday I want to travel to some of these locations.
Very nice synopsis of the movie plot. I have always loved this movie. I was in high school when it came out and remember all the buzz about he ground breaking special effects. As dated as they seem they were cutting edge miniatures back then.
My father worked at "Sandman HQ" (Zales Building at the time) and has stories about the the days filming the late scene when they had lots of styrofoam blocks from the city exploding. Of course it was also represented by a model in the film for many parts.
Thanks for the very well made video. My condolences to the families of the four that perished but honestly I'm astounded that *only 4 people have died there. Small irregular shaped walkways with no handrails, fast running water going down steep sided walls with murky pools at the bottom. It's such a hazardous place to be, definitely like a water treatment plant. I'm glad they still let you enjoy it though as it was intended.
All of these places are AMAZING. This is beautiful architecture that modern architects could learn from. Liminal yet peaceful and inviting. Space and object. The water features are outstanding.
That was a great premise and started off wonderfully. Once the hypnotist enters the story, the whole thing starts to fall apart, turning into a dumb soap opera by the end.
Really great views. But another interesting site to see at water gardens, is the wall that we walked down when all the people descended , the wall is close to the active pool, was loads of fun crawling down the wall, and then seeing myself in the movie, so cool. Its the scene where the people come out from the domes to see the old man.
I visited the Fort Worth Water Gardens back in the mid-2000s and then Malibu Creek State Park.(CA, the location for most of the outside scenes) several years later. The waterfall in the film is the same one seen in Planet of the Apes (1968). There's a "Logan's Run bridge" in the park; no one could tell me what scene was filmed there, but I think it's where Logan and Jessica walk in water toward the Washington Monument, which was a matte painting. (What was once a lake in the park has now largely been replaced by marshes.) I could not find other specific outside locations like where Logan and Jessica slept, or where they walk on the path, although I could make some hunches. Fun fact: Between the waterfall and the bridge, which are maybe a bit over a mile apart, you pass by and through the former location of Ape City from the first two Apes films and the Apes TV show..
@@puellamservumaddominum6180 , interesting. I can see a few, but not a lot; according to the shooting schedule that used to be online, they spent three or four days filming at what is now Malibu Creek State Park, and there aren't that many scenes outside. The nighttime scenes are the most likely ones shot in a studio, but there are only two of them in the finished film (plus a third one with Francis that was cut). Otherwise, they're pretty much all recognizably the state park. (I suspect the lake they were in was the lake that used to be present in the park; the Washington Monument they move toward was, of course, a matte painting.)
Hello all. There is more info available about the locations from Logan's Run out there. One site not mentioned here was the interior of the "Forest Park Mall" in Dallas, that was used for interiors. Kudo's to ETM for his trek to the Fort Worth water gardens, one of the most famous locations. It is worth the trip.
One of my favourite movies. I'm always interested in filming locations and that was pretty cool. I was in Rome before lock down and tracked down all the locations for that part of the Bond movie Spectre which was great
In the film, Carousel was a device that supposedly transferred your consciousness into a new body but in reality those who's time were simply disintegrated by it. Indeed The children who's body you were suppose to be put in were incubated not born naturally and Logan pondered why you never met someone you knew before that was renewed. The Sandmen were also the Police and Runners were felt to be denying someone renewal and their often public end wasn't shocking. The truth about Runners was that none made since they encountered a robot once assigned in freezing fish that stopped coming but switched to them instead. Once outside after Logan destroyed the manical robot they found the Lincoln Memorial and assumed it was what like to look old. The old man in Capitol had forgotten his last name but knew it was on a portrait somewhere and they convinced him to return so he'd know other people. Another Sandman was hunting who'd been his partner and was just as confused by what he had seen as well and was dying after a fight Logan. Seeing Logan's cystal clock on his palm had reset after leaving the city he believed that his partner and maybe he might of renewed as the Carousel promised. The computers that ran the city couldn't accept what Logan had found and as it called other Sandmen to deal with him breaks free destroying them and mainframe with one of their guns. With the city falling apart Logan and Jessica lead so in e survivors back the way they got in to find the old man played by Peter Ustinov delighted to see people again and they what growing past 30 would look like.
Hello. Ok, in the books, Carousel isnt a thing. They had 'deep sleep' shops, hence the 'Sandman' name and which at the age of 21, the flower (crystal) would turn black and red. The colours of the hand flowers were based on the colours of radiation sickness charts, from the past war, and stayed as a way to identify a person's age. There is only one domed city within the book, and is under sea, and is shown as Logan and Jessica leave the domed cities and glimpsed in the frozen world of 'Box', where food is collected from the sea. The cities within the book are vast, connected with maze cars which run through the earth's crust. Detroit, for instance generates power for all cities. Babies are born within automated factories from seed mothers, and not from all females due to radiation affects. The worlds is also feral outside the cities, with clans of raiders (Cubs in cathedral), attacking runners or fighting off sand men looking for those trying to escape the cities. The books are brilliant -but very 1960s
I just recently watched this movie again. I remember seeing it in the movie theater when I was 12 years old in 1976. I was thinking maybe they filmed it inside of a shopping mall. I never would have thought that they filmed this in Dallas Texas. But the strangest thing, I wasn't allowed to share the trailer on my Facebook. 🤔
The Fort Worth Water Gardens are amazing a must-see for visitors and locals alike. You can go down the stairs but no swimming and no diving in is allowed as unfortunately there have been drowning deaths there in the past.
So, I just read where some of the scenes were at the futuristic Town East mall, off 635, just outside Mesquite/Garland. Also, in Irving, the Fina building. You nailed the Fort Worth water garden!!
Saw Logan's Run at the theater when was a kid..good to see areas still around! But I'm wondering how many people who visit the pool at end never saw Logan's Run and never realize its a big part of movie history😁
Just a few notes. The building with The Great Hall was torn down in 2006. The building you got escorted out of was used in the movie. But is either the scenes where Jessica talks to the Sanctuary people or the "residence pool" from the cut first runner scene.
I’m from Dallas, and there was another location you didn’t feature. It was a modern office that is or maybe was, located along Stemmons Freeway, also known as I-35, not too far from the Trade Center. It was on the same side of the highway, I believe North of the Trade Center. In the film a Monorail ran thru the building. Next time I’m in Dallas I’ll have to look and see if it’s still there.
In case it wasn't mentioned earlier in the thread - Sandman HQ was also corporate "Death Records" in Phantom of the Paradise. They also used The Majestic theater in downtown Dallas as the Paradise itself.
The building at 8:47 used to be InfoMart. I was there back in the late 70s visiting family. One of the other locations in the Dallas area was Nuclear Medical Laboratories (NML) where my sister worked. The scene where Jessica goes to Logan’s apartment was filmed there.
I'm sure you know now but Dallas Trade Mart was demolished....where they filmed the interiors....the places that looked like a mall. I think there's a bit of bonus footage on the bluray/dvd concerning this. But I love this movie and glad that the Water gardens are still around. Thanx for posting. Sorry for coming so late in the game. Take care....from Dallas.
I grew up going to the Water Gardens when my parents would take us to FW to visit my grandparents. As far as wind being in a domed city. It is possible actually if the dome is big enough. Wind is generated by the heating and cooling of different parts of the ground.
This made me want to watch the movie again. I saw it when I was in my very early teens, and it's always been one of my favourites. I love the scene at the end where all the young people come out and meet the old man, and are fascinated by his wrinkles and white hair.
Good documentary. If you would have driven just 10 minutes west of the Water Gardens, you would have seen where they filmed some parts of the inner-city scenes at Ridgmar Mall in Fort Worth.
At FT Worth water gardens is near by the IMAX movie theater. Then near there is Love Field which is the birthplace of SOUTHWEST AIRLINES. At the end of the run way on the other side of the fence is where back in the day tons of people would go roller skating.
8:49. . This building is Infomart. It is basically a multi-floor data center. The building was initially supposed to be twice as tall, but the crash of 2008 ended it's construction at about the halfway point. So a group of investors got together doubled the thickness of the concrete on the existing floors, gave it a roof, and turned it into a massive multi-tenant datacenter. Every carrier on the planet has connectivity in this building. Many colocation companies are also in this building.
You missed a location a few blocks from the Water Gardens, part of the movie was filmed at the Tandy Center shopping center / Radio Shack corporate office interior before it was open to the public. Unfortunately the mall closed back in 2005 & a lot of the mall has been remodeled however the building still stands.
Actually, the interior of the Arcade scenes were filmed at the Dallas Market Center in downtown Dallas. After the recession, it pretty much became close to being abandoned. It would be more of great hangout place for the Cubs by today's standards.
Wonderful video! That water park looks dangerous. By the way, Jessica is not actually a runner. She is still a "green", meaning she has not hit the age of 26 yet. She just follows Logan because she's in love with him. Logan even begs her not to go with him since she has so many years left. I read that the colour of the clothes the city dwellers wear matches their life clocks (crystals on their palms): babies have clear crystals on their palms and wear white clothes until they turn 8. Children from the ages of 8 to 16 have yellow crystals on their palms and wear yellow. Young people from the ages of 16 to 25 , like Jessica, have green crystals on their palms and wear green clothes. Finally, people from the ages of 26 to 30 have red/crimson crystals on their palms and wear red/crimson clothes and when they turn 30, their crystals start to blink. The Sandmen, however, always wear black and grey.
The Water Gardens scene was not a blue screen shot. It was done with a matte painting. Regardless, enjoyed the video very much! Thank you! (Also, a few kids have gotten in that pool and drowned because of the force of the water.) It's not for swimming!
There was not a matte painting at all during the live filming. It was shot on location at the water gardens. The ocean background matte painting was done in post production some of it was done in the Los Colinas Studios and was a scene of Stewarts Beach in Galveston. For the scene of them diving in the pool they had turned off the original suction pump and set inside an artificial pump/air blower that makes large jacuzzi bubbles to create the effect of rotation because the suction pump is extremely powerful. Far too dangerous for anyone to get close to! Stupid visitors think it is an actual pool for the public and their kids drowned. They also brought in extra water trucks to add water to the falls just before certain shots. My best memories were all the ladies had nothing on underneath their costumes only the colored stockings. Some days were a lot of fun, others got on my nerves especially the reshoots. There was always something screwing up....back to mark start again, back to mark start again! It has been so long now I have to watch the movie to recall things.
@@roryschultz3788 To clarify, I didn't say the matte painting was done on location. Only that it was not a blue screen shot. The city portions were done in the Hulen Mall.
@@Movierebel3 You misunderstand my statement, it was not challenging your statement but adding more info along with yours about the Matte painting. But it was NOT at Hulen Mall. Hulen Mall is in South Fort Worth which did not open until 1977 and that is not where we were at, we were in Dallas. We shot interiors at the World Trade Center (apparel mart) during the summer of 1975. Did you miss the statement that I was one of the extras in the movie. We shot at the Trade Center, One Main or rather the 1st National Bank and Oz Club. World Trade Center had 5 levels, Hulen Mall is only 2 levels. The Oz club was closed and torn down and the current Oz Club is not the same one. The only location in Fort Worth was the Water Gardens
@@roryschultz3788 I had heard that they filmed it at Hulen Mall prior to its opening. "The Hulen Mall in Fort Worth, was just completing construction during filming and was also used for scenes."
I've seen pictures of the Dallas Trade Mart -- where the Great Hall scene was shot, when Logan and Francis hunt down the Runner -- pictures taken during the demolition of the site before they were to rebuild it. It was a sad thing for me to see it being rendered a ruin, but it doesn't surprise me that it happened. There are LOGAN'S RUN fan sites on the internet that have some location pictures posted, including those demolition pics. Thanks for this current filming locations video, from one guy who -- like Ballard in the original novel -- has just about lived a double lifetime (I'm 57 -- and will thus be 60 in about 3 years, double the mandatory age of 30 in the film).
Domed cities usually have some sort of artificial wind, and there's usually some sort of holographic cloud projector. At least, the ones I've been to are like that.
I'm actually from that area and I remember going to the water gardens as a kid I don't remember what year was but I do remember Is being there But it's like a brief memory I forgot about Dallas at the world trade center I think I might have been in that building around those buildings before too it's been awhile
The domrd city was Sanctuary, the refuge from the ecological and social collapse. The irony is Sanctuary became the hell they now fled. Sanctuary did exist, they were already in it, but the history was lost because there were no old people around to remember the history.
I remember the day or actually the night when I was watching Logan‘s run for the first time in I guess over 30 years, and a lot of the stairwells and Corredor‘s at the end of the movie looked familiar, and then I realized that the creators of the game half life have definitely seen the movie Logan‘s run.
Just played back the movie - some mistakes - when they are walking from the sea to the waterfall you see no surrounding buildings - however later when they're close to the pool about to dive in you can see the buildings that are there today but with all the windows and markings hidden
The Sandman headquarters blew up at the end of the movie. It’s called Pegasus Park now and I was in that building today. I’m trying to figure out what the building was in the 1970s. Was it the old Mobile building? Fina?
HEY, BRECK WELL IT'S Always cool to see you Trying and doing Something Different on your Channel land yes I do Remember seeing this Moive but not at a Theater it was on a Monday night Moive or some tv show like that and can't remember what year it was and yup for Back then the special Effects were pretty cool WellOK take care stay safe and will see you on the next video project
I was 13 when I seen the movie. At are theater thay handed out life clocks you could stick to the palm of your hand. I still have the piece and the card that its stuck to.
If you want some others to do you might try, Night Vision with Fred Williamson and the wonderful Cynthia Rothrock. This was filmed in the DFW area and shows the lighted tower that Dallas is famous for. Point Blank is a terrible but fun to watch movie with Micky Rourke. Made at the Town Center mall in 1998. The mall is now named LA Grande Plaza and last time I was in there some of the features in the film were still recognizable. I was a rookie officer at the time and I knew several of the police officers and dispatchers hired as extras. Then there is a series called "The Good Guys" which is a great quirky buddy cop comedy series filmed in the dfw area. Enjoy
I loved that movie! I've watched it so many times. Thanks for showing me where it took place. It's so cool. Personal question...I have the same redness on my face do you have lupus? Mine changes in intensity depending on how I feel. They biopsied it in 1995 and it was positive for lupus.
The book is interesting; the age of death is 18 iirc or 21. It was raised in the movie because York couldn't pass for the younger age. The Carousel also was not in the book. The director and producters thought it would be interesting in the movie I suspect, but it's the one scene that I'm not fond of in the movie--you can see the wires if you look close enough, and it's that scene that looks dated to me. Minty on YT did an episode on the movie. Seems the actress who played Jessica was not very fond of her costume either; I honestly can't blame her! The movie was amazing for it's time, and w/o the creation of the special effects for the movie, those effects wouldn't have existed to use for Star Wars or other movies that came after. I admit after reading the other commenters that I'm confused on the shopping mall. Some said it's still up and others said it was torn down. I'll have to find out; I'm in Ohio and not FW but I have a few friends down that way. As for my being here at 12:49 am 11/16/2022? Well, YT decided to pop you in the recommended videos for me at the right side going down, and it was a good choice. Thank you YT. Good luck in your travels! Should you make it up here, there are a LOT of places to visit including the Troll Hole in Alliance Ohio!
Saludos.
Really interesting video, the buildings featured in Logan’s Run were incredible, although the modernisation of the second building has ruined the modernist aesthetic and made into just another glass fronted tower block. I liked how the buttresses lead the eye up the building and the simple utilitarian grid of the windows, the new coloured glass gives it a post modern aesthetic, not a style of architecture I like.
I’m really against remaking movies, but this one is deserving of a remake I think. Not that it was bad, just that the SFX was subpar for the material. If done well, I think it has good potential to be a solid movie.
I'm a big fan of Logan's Run. Thank you for taking me on this tour.

My father worked at "Sandman HQ" (Zales Building at the time) and has stories about the the days filming the late scene when they had lots of styrofoam blocks from the city exploding. Of course it was also represented by a model in the film for many parts.
I always thought the scene of the city exploding looked really fake. It was probably the styrofoam and cheap 70's era special effects.
They also superimposed footage of falling rubble over the actors in the scene (as well as the Box lair destruction scenes), which also looked cheesy.
30 years that park has been there. Little girls had a swimsuits on. Stupid parents are to blame.
Our thoughts as well..
Thank you for upload.
Although old movie,very interesting‼️
All of these places are AMAZING. This is beautiful architecture that modern architects could learn from. Liminal yet peaceful and inviting. Space and object. The water features are outstanding.
Cool presentation, now I have to watch the dvd again 😎
The Science Fiction film 'The Lathe Of Heaven " by Ursula K. Le Guinn also had scenes filmed at the Fort Worth Water Park
That was a great premise and started off wonderfully. Once the hypnotist enters the story, the whole thing starts to fall apart, turning into a dumb soap opera by the end.
Thanks for that! "Lathe of Heaven" as a PBS showing was exceptional. Nice to know the location!
The place where they slept was done inside in studio. A lot of other "outside" scenes were shot inside as well.
I must have been 25 yrs old when is saw Logan’s run in San Jose California. Good memories and thanks Breck!
It was Forest Park? I had only heard Fort Worth Mall so it's cool knowing there was a real name to it and not just a generic city one!
A good summary of the movie.
Robots name is "Box."
Logan's Run sounds like what the WEF have in store for us.
The global elite specifically have such a society planned and have for centuries.
I remember when that church group drowned. That was a very sad time for Fort Worth.
I’m surprised they let anyone go down there, especially with no railings. After a drowning not allowing anyone to go down at all.
@@jbdragon3295 Not to be insensitive but anyone with common sense know if you can't go down there safely then don't do it.
@Noah Darby yes, you are insensitive. Congrats.
@@Darkk6969 telling it like is. Facts don't care about feelings.
So, I just read where some of the scenes were at the futuristic Town East mall, off 635, just outside Mesquite/Garland. Also, in Irving, the Fina building. You nailed the Fort Worth water garden!!
I tried to go there, but the mall was gone :(
@@EscapingTheMouse Yeah..
Sad to see it go. Yesterday is no more.
I am not sure which is the Fina building in Irving.
Thanks for sharing bro. I always figured the water works in the final scene were real but assumed a lot of the other shoots were sets.
Nothing like being a kid and having a father that takes you to a rated r movie! My old pop let me see Ryan's daughter when I was 9!
I'm shocked to see the water feature is still intact and running. Very rare to be able to view movie sets from so long ago.
Why wouldn't it still be there? It's a city park.
I know I'm late to the party but, good video! Thank you for showing these locations. It makes me want to check them out myself.
The film has deeply profound undertones about society
Thanks for this video this was a fun journey I would not be able to take otherwise.
Thanks for this content. I'm a huge "Logan's Run" fan.
The building at 8:47 used to be InfoMart. I was there back in the late 70s visiting family. One of the other locations in the Dallas area was Nuclear Medical Laboratories (NML) where my sister worked. The scene where Jessica goes to Logan’s apartment was filmed there.
I was 11 years old when I saw the movie in 1986. Back then it was high tech for the time.
One of my favoite films from my youth. Still like it. 👍
This made me want to watch the movie again. I saw it when I was in my very early teens, and it's always been one of my favourites.
I love the scene at the end where all the young people come out and meet the old man, and are fascinated by his wrinkles and white hair.
Very cool documentation. Nicely done. Cheers!
Good documentary. If you would have driven just 10 minutes west of the Water Gardens, you would have seen where they filmed some parts of the inner-city scenes at Ridgmar Mall in Fort Worth.
This was awesome! Hope they do a remake!
At FT Worth water gardens is near by the IMAX movie theater. Then near there is Love Field which is the birthplace of SOUTHWEST AIRLINES.
At the end of the run way on the other side of the fence is where back in the day tons of people would go roller skating.
Classic sci fi. My favorite movie. Nice to see your videos.
Cathedral.
Such a mind Fuch, if a kid was drowning even if you knew you and they would definitely die you would still have to jump in.
It's way past time for carousel for you.
By the way, those lines on your face, do they hurt?
Funny. I saw the movie in the town’s theaters. I’m long past 30😅. Love the movie and it’s time for a rewatch
Thanks for cheering me up. I'm 75!
@@KutWrite Not far behind at 68 my profile pic was when I had turned 50.
all of us LR fans here are young in mind and heart.
Domed cities usually have some sort of artificial wind, and there's usually some sort of holographic cloud projector. At least, the ones I've been to are like that.
The main hall scenes were filmed in the Dallas Apparel Mart which stood between Dallas Market Hall and World Trade Center.
it is my favorite film from my childhood
It was the first movie I saw with my first wife (my first love) Julia in March 1977.
so cool yea i like that movie wow. all these years still there.
Cheers mate. Loved the movie as a teen in Australia when it first came out
I am happy U Escaped that Evil Mouse - Great Vid !
I totally thought that I remembered reading the Great Hall was filmed in some kind of shopping mall.
I'm actually from that area and I remember going to the water gardens as a kid I don't remember what year was but I do remember Is being there But it's like a brief memory I forgot about Dallas at the world trade center I think I might have been in that building around those buildings before too it's been awhile
Thank for the video !!! Good memories
The domrd city was Sanctuary, the refuge from the ecological and social collapse. The irony is Sanctuary became the hell they now fled. Sanctuary did exist, they were already in it, but the history was lost because there were no old people around to remember the history.
Incredible.
I've been to that water park and walked all the way to the bottom. It's awesome
I wore an "Ankh" for years after watching this movie!! Still watch it today All time classic "VIVE' LA FREEDOM!!!
You really should buy and read the book that Logans run was based on
We have a similar fountain here in downtown Portland Oregon. Both are fantastic examples of late 60s-early 70s brutalist architecture.
Oh man, I'd love to have a life clock.
The water gardens is still cool. 😮
Like this movie and the TV series. Would like for them to make a new series.
If you want some others to do you might try,
Night Vision with Fred Williamson and the wonderful Cynthia Rothrock.
Enjoy
Do any of you remember the odd one Eraser Head? It was filmed when the Reunion Tower was built. Or Robocop ? I WAS NOT in those LOL
I loved that movie! I've watched it so many times. Thanks for showing me where it took place. It's so cool. Personal question...I have the same redness on my face do you have lupus? Mine changes in intensity depending on how I feel. They biopsied it in 1995 and it was positive for lupus.
Love that Movie...
Saludos.
It is such a beautiful place and it is a tragedy that these lives were lost in this place. Thanks for watching!
I clicked this video because the first thing I saw was the Fort Worth water gardens.
Watching your video I felt like my cataracts had returned.
I’m really against remaking movies, but this one is deserving of a remake I think. Not that it was bad, just that the SFX was subpar for the material. If done well, I think it has good potential to be a solid movie.
That's pretty neat.
