Damn I can't wait to lower my stock opel agila 98 1.0 with a coilover and slap on some dope ass TE37 rims to increase my daily driving on my semi-slick toyo's.
Eibach springs are excellent for daily driving as they're softer initial spring rate but its progressive and adds better handling. A strut tower brace is a very easy mod, usually inexpensive, and makes vague steering (like the mentioned corolla) a lot more confidence inspiring.
YES!!! that's exactly what I have planned for my daily. just suspension, wheels, tires, body kit, and then a wrap. only want the looks to be touched up on. not everything else.
When I purchased my Lexus IS (F-Sport) last year, it had NiCHE M116 Misano 19" Wheels on them which looked really good. The car was driven in Virginia for a few years, until I bought it and brought it to NYC. I had the car 36 hours in the city and ripped the tire in a pothole. Using it as a daily driver (and autocross/track), but putting daily mileage on it, IN POTHOLE CENTRAL, I had to switch to OEM 17" wheels and I have to worry a little less about ripping tires, although that happens as well. But overall, it's a wall thickness that lets me drive (sporty) and gets me faster from one assignment to another. I had to chose pragmatism over beauty, although my DD setup is still looking sharp.
I have a little 5 door Ford Fiesta Titanium 2019 with 100 Hp. First things I did was visual mods: changed the front grill to a black one, did some wrapping to remove other chrome parts and add a unique touch to my car. Then I decided to change the wheels: went for 17 inches, so only 1 size above the standard 16 inches. The 16 inches wheels will be for the winter period. Then I got to work on performance: installed a boxed K&N filter to help engine breath better, did a custom ECU tune to get +45 HP and +70 NM of torque, installed a sports exhaust which has sound without making me deaf or annoying my neighbors. And last step will be lowering springs. And that's it. With all of this it's a perfect daily car but with enough mods to make it unique to you own tastes.
They first come to see what wheels/coilovers to buy. I keep coming back because of Jasper, Dakota's Driver to Driver, and Alex's occasional runescape reference.
My daily is my VW GT, swapped out the wheels with the Rline wheels (same size) which I had powder coated gloss black and got new Michelins (went from 225 to 235). Got new slotted disc brakes with ceramic pads. H&R lowering springs. Changed interior lights to LED. Replaced OEM filter with K&M filter. Still have a full stereo in my closet that I havent installed yet and will be getting an exhaust when this craziness is all over. Simple changes but enough to make it not so stock.
I don't know if I'd consider them mods, but for my daily E39 I refreshed all the suspension bushings and joints with new OEM parts, good condition Bilstein struts from junkyard ($20 each), and slapped some nice quiet touring Pirelli's on the stock wheels with a slightly taller sidewall than stock for dat comfort. Highly recommend sticking with a stock intake for a daily. Replacing paper filters every 12k miles for $7 each time is way nicer than cleaning and re-oiling a cotton gauze filter that doesn't filter nearly as many fine particles as a paper one. Also using a high quality full synthetic oil and best oil filter (usually OEM) is a given.
When i got my manual car (engine was fine-just cosmetic) 1. coilovers (D2 racing) 2. tires (cooper) make sure to do alignment once the coilovers are on so the tires are RELIABLE 3. exhaust (invidia) 3/4 i should do Wheels next but my car came with type s wheels for the RSX type S, probably will get Enkei down the line
I have a 2014 Genesis Coupe 2.0t R-spec 6-speed! I left it bone stock aside from tinting the windows and getting the entire exhaust custom built from stainless steel. nice, clean, somewhat quiet daily.
on my 2018 Lexus 3is i did these changes since its my daily (Work/Roadtrip/etc) 1)Sequential Mirror turn signals 2)Sequential DRL+Turn Signals 3)Wider wheels by 24mm wider than OEM so within fenders 4)Aftermarket/Computer Android Auto/Apple Carplay ( best thing ever) 5)Carbon Steering wheel, like the under part of the wheel since its flat and i can rest my legs higher for road trips 6)Air suspension hands down for comfort and shows ( dropped about 1.75in for drive height)
I have lifted 96 Jeep XJ, a 98 Mitsu Montero, and a lowered 99 s10 xtreme that was basically a daily driven project for the last 10 years. Finally bought a 2021 Forte GT manual as the 'reliable daily' and I'm fighting the urge to go too far with moding it haha
I totally agree :) im doing rims and tires and if I got a new job I will do coils and exhaust and intercooler and a ecu tune :D Maybe some better brakes as well.
For my daily right now I’m using BC coils with 235/45R/17 setup. It gives me more of a meaty look for my S60R. She’s auto so that’s why I’m not doing a lot of performance mods. The only “engine” mods I wanna do left is a top end rebuild with new turbo setup. Goal is 375whp which is perfect imo. Honestly daily’s should always stay reliable. If you want a 500WHP car for a daily you’re better off breaking the bank for a loan or build a street car. Throw historic tag on her and have a blast
What year? I have 235/45/18s on my s60 Polestar. R716s in midnight blue with crossclimate2s. It looks SO aggressive. I want to lower it about a half in to an inch and I'm not sure my best option. The rear is just a little high imo.
Well compared to stock its a bit bumpy, but I travel a lot on highway.. traction greatly improved with my current setup.. enjoying my daily drive every bit of it..💪
2012 G37xS, great all-season daily that you can take to a track day, car show, grocery store, and even tackle PA winters with AWD, glad FI has me covered with the perfect blend of aftermarket wheels, tires, and suspension components, while still maintaining near factory drivability and reliability
Great advice, I just got another daily driver and have a truck that needs work and I almost fell into the trap of spending my money on just the daily. Thanks for saving me from the headache lol.
Alex, I have a different approach to cars. When I was young I think I'd join the fast car fam but my parents gave me a van and I started surfing and I absolutely fell in love with the practical aspect of "ugly" cars and I never looked back. I think daily driver cars could be cool if they were made to look good and be ultra functionable. I've seen 3rd gen Priuses on bags - and they do look cool imo. Why not? They're comfy, great on gas, and you can fit a dead horse in there - if you had to (not saying anybody should do it). I bought a 2012 Prius for a travel car conversion - there is no better hatch option for that imo (and the cargo space is awesome). And I think my travel project car (ie MINI Van Life gift from Gods) will be outstanding - my own Millenium Falcon, the man's Car Cave. It will have a kitchen, running water with a 5 gal tank, storage for surfobards, 110V current, I can run AC or heat non stop due to the Hybrid design thus having a "hotel room" in any weather condition for 1 gallon of gas a night (it hasn't earned its Prius Hotel name for nothing: ask Prius owners). If you guys run out of things to talk about, you can talk about my "mundane" project (when it's done) and show to the world a different approach to pimping your car.
My lancer is my daily, I'm doing everything to make it reliable and about to withstand the power I plan on adding. New radiator, fluid swap, wheels, tires, fuel rail, rally coilovers, headlights, taillights, exhaust, starter, and intake.
RazorSharpBanana it’s sorta relevant most of the time though homie... we usually discuss , wheels , coil overs , or mods in general that would require us to know where to go... which is ... FitmentIndustries.com for wheels tires or suspension! (: - gotcha xD
Honestly 100% agree with the stock car on coils looking proper with no gap, saw a low corolla everything stock except the coils and it looked not like the classic dork corolla
I just got an A7 TDI. My list is short: MAINTENANCE FIRST. Then rear sway bar to help mitigate the fact I'm trying to take any corner in a boat, tune because diesels get better fuel economy, and actually a smaller wheel (20" down to a 19") to add some sidewall and help improve the ride, which is already pretty good, but could be better.
“You dump all the money on your new car and not your old car” *Looks neverously at the mods for the s197 while the Mercury Cougar I got first needs an engine rebuild soon.* ITS LIKE THEY KNOW 😂
i have an K&N Typhoon intake, a custom made 3inch turbo back none resonated exhaust with sports cat, Wagner performance intercooler, Bola CSR 19"/8.5" gloss black wheels, 1" wheel spacers, 380mm big brake kit all round, with 8 pots on the front, and 6 pots on the rear, 15mm lowering springs, and a stage 2 tune. this is my daily
He has alot of good points. For one, since my 1st car in high school I have always modified my daily. It's starts with that 1st mod then your hooked and spend all your paycheck on it and end up having more car troubles latter on with that same car. I'm on my 8th car now but it's all stock. I still think about springs and just rims for my new daily but I know when I start it I can't stop lol
I got into a mild accident in my daily, an 06 Corolla. Smoked headlight housings were the same price as regular ones, so I bought those as replacements for the ones that shattered, tinted the windows, and removed the rust on my steelies and painted them black. It's still a Corolla underneath, and it's got nothing on my project car, but just these few cheap cosmetic mods make it so much more appealing to drive, even if it isn't all that different. Plus it makes it a million times easier to spot in a parking lot compared to all the other blue Corollas out there!
For your daily it's maintenance first and mods second. To all those that wanna tune their daily driver, just be smart about it. Alex wasn't joking when he stressed reliability. That's the difference between your car being tuned for the sweet spot between power and reliability and the guy stranded on the side of the road with a kill tune and a new window in the engine block.
Wheels, tires, throttle body, intake, exhaust, tune, poly lower engine mount. I agree save the big projects for a secondary car. The pressure of pulling an engine on a weekend and hoping it will be done by Monday for work is too much pressure.
Wheels, tires, suspension, aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket intake, headers, intake manifold, supercharger or turbocharger, or all motor. My daily is my xB with nice 16x7.5 Konig tandem wheels, with my TRD axle back exhaust and cherry bomb glasspack. That’s my daily.
I've got an 02 bugeye wrx wagon that had seven previous owners. One of them installed struts from a Forester but didn't supplement them with any subframe spacers and as a result, I was going through front axles like crazy. Since I've bought it, I've purchased coilovers for a Forester and lowered the car back down quite a bit, but it's still taller than stock. The other thing they did was throw on some 17" wheels from an 05 Outback. They fill out the wheel wells nicely with 225/50R17 tires. I acquired an OEM set of wheels that I threw some snow tires on that my friend gave me. The wheels are 16", but the snow tires have a sidewall ratio of 60, so they also fill out the wheel wells quite well. The car still performs awesome both in the summer and winter and is comfortable, but she no longer destroys half shafts every year or two, and she still has a ground clearance advantage over stock. She's a good daily car, and I'll be sad to see her go when the nearly 200k original (I think) motor finally goes.
My daily, just wheels 18" Enkei's, wider tires 245/40 R18 Continental Tires, aftermarket brake kit front and back, lowering springs: front and rear: 1" all around, Catback Exhaust, Header, Cold Air Intake, Test Pipe, and Cosmetic Mods in and out.

Can't afford a project car and wanted to get some practice on working on my daily this gave some great tips on where to start before looking into a completely different vehicle
I’m in a tough spot, my Golf R has only a couple mods and it’s fun to drive. But I can just FEEL it wants more. Our family car is a Prius V (it’s more of an appliance than a car) and it has the 2 car seats, stroller, etc. I’m the only one who drives my car (the R) and it’s light use around town. I want to mod my car more but I don’t want it to lose value or be uncomfortable since I don’t track it. But I want to have a blast on those rare days I can get away and enjoy the car. Current mods: IE cold air intake, turbo inlet pipe. CTS resonator delete. 034 dogbone mount insert. Stock wheels (19” Pretoria) and tires.
'13 Fiesta SE with 16x7's, lowering springs, intake, catback, polyurethane engine mounts, trans mount, and sway bar bushings; removed back seats and spare. zero to fun in 1.5s
Been slightly modifying my daily, intake done, exhaust done, tune done, suspension done, splitter done, tinting done, wrap is going to happen in april so i definatly need a new daily 😂🤷🏼♂️
You guys should make a video on how to prep the car to fit an aftermarket wheel setup. It's one thing to buy a wheel and tire setup, but it's a whole different monster getting the car to sit right on those wheels and with the correct suspension geometry. For someone like me who's never modified suspension before, tips and tricks as to what to do with your fenders, fender liners, and suspension would be greatly helpful. Thank you Fitment Industries!
If you intend on daily driving a RWD car and you have rainy and muddy wet seasons and/or icy and snowy winter, a Torsen LSD might be a worthwhile upgrade if it didn't come with one stock. No, it's not a cheap upgrade, but it's cheaper than getting a winter car. Other than that, seat covers that you can throw in the washer is always a good idea on fabric seats.
As a normal everyday working guy I can only afford one car, so that is both my daily and my "project" if you can call it that :P But the stuff in this video kind of applies, I'm not gonna slam it, just a moderate lowering. I went with a nice plasti dip on my stock 17" wheels instead of paying 2 grand for a new setup, and put those doll hairs towards a tune, cold air intake, lowering springs and stuff instead, seems more reasonable since the stock wheels don't really look too bad. Anyhow, great videos, nice and informative as usual. Peace!
My fiance says to me "I just want a normal daily driver" bought a challenger! Cool. ... hes had the car 3 months.. hes changed the wheels, the steering wheel, the head unit, the tune, and now hes looking at crate engines.. he literally sold his monstrous g8 with an ls3 because it wasnt a "daily driver"... all I think is that I love this man lol he makes me laugh :)
On a daily 2012 camry will lowering springs and 18x8.5 work if coilovers are not an option for a while? I checked the gallery but everyone has coilovers. I really don't want to ruin my daily I just want it to look good
I daily (by daily I mean I only have one car) a Evo x GSR. It came with FA500 Coilovers. Had my mechanic soften it up a bit (she slid on me for reason I'll get into later). I also went from 4 mismatched track tires to advan super sports. Ride for all weather was instantly better. Bumps are absorbed better and grip is still good enough for fun. And for all gsr owners upgrade the clutch master cylinder
my daily 2010 impreza hatch its a slow ass naturally aspirated 4 speed automatic shitbox but its a slow ass naturally aspirated 4 speed automatic shitbox on coilovers, free drag wheels that i painted black, with a little cosmo racing air intake, a resonator delete, and a greddy muffler. looks good sounds good and when im in the dirt near my house its a lot of fun to slide around in and gives me great gas mileage still. still wish it was a wrx though
Coilovers are a massive pain. These you can do at home in less than 2 hours with (probably) no special tools: 1. Cold Air Intake 2. Exhaust/Muffler 3. Sway Bars and Links 4. Strut Tower Brace 5. Big Brake Calipers/Rotors 6. Pitch Stop 7. Select Urethane Bushings I highly recommend just upgrading as parts go bad. Need a filter? Get an Intake upgrade. Bushings wearing out? Get urethane. Need rotors? Get a big brake kit.

Eibach springs are excellent for daily driving as they're softer initial spring rate but its progressive and adds better handling. A strut tower brace is a very easy mod, usually inexpensive, and makes vague steering (like the mentioned corolla) a lot more confidence inspiring.
Thanks for the tip 😉
YES!!! that's exactly what I have planned for my daily. just suspension, wheels, tires, body kit, and then a wrap. only want the looks to be touched up on. not everything else.
window tints, exhausts, coilovers, and some cosmetic mods are the only ones i think you should consider for your daily
Me: I’m just going to buy some wheels and keep it stock
Also me: -buys $10k in wheels, performance parts, and a body kit-
Why am I like this
I have a little 5 door Ford Fiesta Titanium 2019 with 100 Hp.
Should double up on the driver to driver, love those!
They first come to see what wheels/coilovers to buy. I keep coming back because of Jasper, Dakota's Driver to Driver, and Alex's occasional runescape reference.
@@josepha1746 this
My daily is my VW GT, swapped out the wheels with the Rline wheels (same size) which I had powder coated gloss black and got new Michelins (went from 225 to 235).
Yooooooo, finally some SAAB representation in here!!!!
"At the end of the day" Best line of Alex lmao..
I got a 17’ v6 Camry XSE, and all I need is a CAI, wheels, coilovers, catback exhaust and a tune and I’m good.
Honestly needed this video, I’ve recently bought a 09 accord coupe as my daily car but I’m kinda new to this
Nice! Manual/auto? Either way, the reccomendatiins here are whatcha want.
When i got my manual car (engine was fine-just cosmetic)
1. coilovers (D2 racing)
2. tires (cooper) make sure to do alignment once the coilovers are on so the tires are RELIABLE
3. exhaust (invidia)
3/4 i should do Wheels next but my car came with type s wheels for the RSX type S, probably will get Enkei down the line
I'm dailying a 99 mustang. Only things done are muffler delete and some cosmetic mods
Ford emblem removal , the first mod on my list
I have a 2014 Genesis Coupe 2.0t R-spec 6-speed! I left it bone stock aside from tinting the windows and getting the entire exhaust custom built from stainless steel. nice, clean, somewhat quiet daily.
I mean while we quarantined might as well give us so you want a M3/4🤷♂️
This video just helped me pick between 18s n 19s, thanks for your wise words my friend!
Me: touching my eye
Alex: "don't touch your face"
Me: quickly removes finger from said eye o.0
on my 2018 Lexus 3is i did these changes since its my daily (Work/Roadtrip/etc)
1)Sequential Mirror turn signals
2)Sequential DRL+Turn Signals
3)Wider wheels by 24mm wider than OEM so within fenders
4)Aftermarket/Computer Android Auto/Apple Carplay ( best thing ever)
5)Carbon Steering wheel, like the under part of the wheel since its flat and i can rest my legs higher for road trips
6)Air suspension hands down for comfort and shows ( dropped about 1.75in for drive height)
When you're so rich you end up modding the car too much. Imagine
Daily “mods” wheels&tires, tint, taillights/headlights, coilovers and depending on the car maybe maybe maybe an exhaust.
I totally agree :) im doing rims and tires and if I got a new job I will do coils and exhaust and intercooler and a ecu tune :D
Maybe some better brakes as well.
Daily Drive with lowering springs, a decent set of wheels, tires and a smile in my face... priceless..
Hows the ride though when it comes to bumps and potholes?
Well compared to stock its a bit bumpy, but I travel a lot on highway.. traction greatly improved with my current setup.. enjoying my daily drive every bit of it..💪
2012 G37xS, great all-season daily that you can take to a track day, car show, grocery store, and even tackle PA winters with AWD, glad FI has me covered with the perfect blend of aftermarket wheels, tires, and suspension components, while still maintaining near factory drivability and reliability
3:25 how does this mans with the Subaru see out the windshield
Great advice, I just got another daily driver and have a truck that needs work and I almost fell into the trap of spending my money on just the daily. Thanks for saving me from the headache lol.
WHEELS TIRES N SUSPENSION YOU KNOW WHERE TO GET THEM
Alex, I have a different approach to cars.
I'm not so sure how I could spice up my Miata. It's already the perfect daily driver.
Fatten up tire width a bit, poke to the outside. A nice set of wheels perhaps.
@@exothermal.sprocket twin turbos, I think you meant
@@cbfedge5593 Twin turbos on a 4-cylinder. Now that would be interesting. And dumb.
@@exothermal.sprocket he was asking for spice. That shit spicy
My lancer is my daily, I'm doing everything to make it reliable and about to withstand the power I plan on adding. New radiator, fluid swap, wheels, tires, fuel rail, rally coilovers, headlights, taillights, exhaust, starter, and intake.
Update. Injen short ram intake done. :)
I love this channel but I've been noticing that it no joke takes 3 minutes to actually talk about the content of the video without the bs promos.
Not "So you want. . ." but still, i won't stop till it happens. lol
So you want a Kei Truck
alex miranda no I want the Daihatsu Copen GR
I just got an A7 TDI. My list is short: MAINTENANCE FIRST. Then rear sway bar to help mitigate the fact I'm trying to take any corner in a boat, tune because diesels get better fuel economy, and actually a smaller wheel (20" down to a 19") to add some sidewall and help improve the ride, which is already pretty good, but could be better.
“You dump all the money on your new car and not your old car”
*Looks neverously at the mods for the s197 while the Mercury Cougar I got first needs an engine rebuild soon.*
ITS LIKE THEY KNOW 😂
i have an K&N Typhoon intake, a custom made 3inch turbo back none resonated exhaust with sports cat, Wagner performance intercooler, Bola CSR 19"/8.5" gloss black wheels, 1" wheel spacers, 380mm big brake kit all round, with 8 pots on the front, and 6 pots on the rear, 15mm lowering springs, and a stage 2 tune. this is my daily
when you see your car in a fitment vid, you know you’ve made it
He has alot of good points.
Alex: Remember keep it reliable!
Me: what about the people who daily a Supra?
I got into a mild accident in my daily, an 06 Corolla. Smoked headlight housings were the same price as regular ones, so I bought those as replacements for the ones that shattered, tinted the windows, and removed the rust on my steelies and painted them black. It's still a Corolla underneath, and it's got nothing on my project car, but just these few cheap cosmetic mods make it so much more appealing to drive, even if it isn't all that different. Plus it makes it a million times easier to spot in a parking lot compared to all the other blue Corollas out there!
Lmfao alex you had me when you said "come on say it with me""reliable"""
For your daily it's maintenance first and mods second. To all those that wanna tune their daily driver, just be smart about it. Alex wasn't joking when he stressed reliability. That's the difference between your car being tuned for the sweet spot between power and reliability and the guy stranded on the side of the road with a kill tune and a new window in the engine block.
Best mod for a daily: Subs
Pipe Villa facts
Factssss
Wheels, tires, throttle body, intake, exhaust, tune, poly lower engine mount. I agree save the big projects for a secondary car. The pressure of pulling an engine on a weekend and hoping it will be done by Monday for work is too much pressure.
Love the vids
Wheels, tires, suspension, aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket intake, headers, intake manifold, supercharger or turbocharger, or all motor. My daily is my xB with nice 16x7.5 Konig tandem wheels, with my TRD axle back exhaust and cherry bomb glasspack. That’s my daily.
Can you do a video on flowmaster/magnaflow exhaust mufflers?
What about forged internals? great daily upgrade

Last time I was this early I.....I don’t know what to say so you should like the comment just saying
Can't afford a project car and wanted to get some practice on working on my daily this gave some great tips on where to start before looking into a completely different vehicle
Being this early feels nice

The video is great
I’m in a tough spot, my Golf R has only a couple mods and it’s fun to drive.
One of a best mods is going to get a car first

You could also raise your daily a little if you live in places with snow and you drive something that isn't a sedan or coupe.
So funny! 🤣 My "daily" Honda Accord has turned into a project. I can't stop modding it. Now I want a Corolla or Civic as a daily.
Best mods:
- Premium tires,
- window tint with UV blocking,
- Carplay/android auto radio with touchscreen,
- better brakes,
- better suspension,
- ECU tuning (more horsepower, better fuel efficiency),
Other very cheap mods would be:
- weather resistant floor mats,
- silicone wipers,
- rain-x,
Okay, 18s on my Fit. YOU. GOT. IT. ALEX.
My ep3 has been down for 4 months now and i just slammed my daily crv on f&fs and now I wanna do more to it 😗

its a slow ass naturally aspirated 4 speed automatic shitbox but its a slow ass naturally aspirated 4 speed automatic shitbox on coilovers, free drag wheels that i painted black, with a little cosmo racing air intake, a resonator delete, and a greddy muffler. looks good sounds good and when im in the dirt near my house its a lot of fun to slide around in and gives me great gas mileage still. still wish it was a wrx though
Coilovers are a massive pain. These you can do at home in less than 2 hours with (probably) no special tools:
1. Cold Air Intake
2. Exhaust/Muffler
3. Sway Bars and Links
4. Strut Tower Brace
5. Big Brake Calipers/Rotors
6. Pitch Stop
7. Select Urethane Bushings
I highly recommend just upgrading as parts go bad. Need a filter? Get an Intake upgrade. Bushings wearing out? Get urethane. Need rotors? Get a big brake kit.
