I'm in tears, such a beautiful moment..... Thank you Misty for everything you did to get Mongo enshrined! "Diamonds are forever, and so are The Four Horsemen"
I’m happy Steve’s day finally came. Looks good in his gold jacket but I feel sad for him for his condition. I’m glad he’s inducted in the Hall of Fame while he’s still alive.
Played his High School Football in Freer, Texas & was known as "Ban Bam Mcmichael". Great Football Player who played for a small town. A High School All American & also All American at UT Austin.
Although, ALS is rapidly degenerative by nature, it thankfully only affects the physical body. Mentally, he is still the same Mongo as ever. Even if he can’t verbally or physically express it, I know he’s over the moon to have made it this far. Mongo is fighter and truly worthy of the bust and the jacket
In 13 seasons with the Bears, McMichael was a starter the last 11. During those 11 seasons the Bears had a top 5 defense (ppg) in 7 of those seasons! In only TWO of those 11 seasons did the Bears finish outside of the top 10 defensively. That is greatness! Read that again.
God Bless you, congrats Mr. McMichael. My old man, Chicago born and raised, seeing his Bears finally win 1985. Cubbies in 2016, and the Blackhawks’ wins throughout the decades before leaving us in 2019 meant the world to him. As well as the countless other Chicago fans, was immeasurable.
Steve was a HOFer in my book 25 years ago. Shame on Canton for waiting so long. I am happy Steve knows he's in and it's great to see all the guys together
Didnt get to see him play ball but watched him wrestle for WCW. Guy was a natural athlete and a great entertainer. Glad to see him getting his due's while still here
I wasn’t around much for his football playing days but I loved him in the WCW and I always used him when I played Tecmo Bowl. Big congrats to him for the well-deserved honor.
Never forget as a COWBOY'S fan living in Dallas as a KID when the BEARS came to Texas Stadium in 1985 and DESTROYED THE COWBOYS 44-0!!! It was the WORST LOSS ever at Texas Stadium for the Cowboys!!!
I'm a Giants fan, too, and I'll never forget Sean Landetta in that insane wind missing the ball just from that short distance from hand to foot on a punt backed up in our own part of the feild, Soldier feild. But I did love the Bears in 85 bc I just love football in general and can recognize insane special greatness. Then Buddy with his evil genius 4-6 defense. Unblockable!!! I had the '45' record of The Super Bowl shuffle and would play it over and over, and I would write down the song lyrics on paper so I could memorize it. 🎶They call me the sweetness bc I like to dance, runnin' the ball is like makin' romance, but we had ta go since traing camp, to give Chicago a SB champ, now we're not doin this bc were greedy, the Bears are doin it, to feed the needy, we didn't come here to start no trouble we're just here doin' the SB shuffle🎶 somthin like that👍😁
One of my football heroes. A warrior on the field and in life. His courage in the face of the disease is legendary in my eyes. My utmost respect and admiration for Steve and Misty, along with family, friends, and teamates, who have stood with him. Much love❤
🏈 Earlier this year there was a fear that Steve might not make it to this day. Once again he fought through 🥊 Congratulations Mongo, you have reached Football Heaven. It was worth the wait and you have earned every minute of it. You are a Bear 🐻 enshrined forever. You no longer have to fight and suffer. Relax and let go. Your soul will allow you to move and speak freely once again. We all thank you for the memories you have given us on those Sundays of Fall and Winter. We will never forget Champ 🏆🥲
Poor man. I'm glad he got this moment before the ALS takes him completely. My grandma had M.S. My dad had dementia and I know caregiving is insurmountably hard with a degenerative disease of a loved one. Mongo was a great football player and wrestler. Seemed like a nice guy in his heyday. I hope he's comfortable as possible. ❤
Steve McMichael, Dan Hampton and Richard Dent my god what a D Line that was!! Thanks for the memories and God bless your courage Mr McMichael Sir. Rock on!
The One-and-done line that got crushed by the 49ers (4) and the Redskins (3). Chicago effed up picking Ditka as coach. Buddy Ryan built that team for Halas-McCaskey family to snake him.
Great of them guys to be there, we love you Mongo, when you do finally move on to the great unknown, may you find peace and comfort, you gave us all you had and we appreciate it
God Bless Steve and congratulations 👏👏👏👏 I’m happy he got to get in and enjoy this moment as best as he can . I’m glad he prepared ahead of time and was given a great ceremony. Use this as an example of how precious life is and how short it is .❤️🤗🙏
As a Chicago kid of the 70s and 80s it tears me up to see Steve this way..met him many times at his place Mongos in Romeoville and just a nice funny guy. God Bless you Steve.
Insane seeing this dude like this. Always thought he was a terrible wrestler, but an entertaining guy during his wrestling days at WCW. Always carrying around that dog. lol Glad to see he was still around to see this. Too bad they waited so long to give it to him
I am happy he finally made it to the Hall of Fame but it is Heartbreaking to see him like this. I pray for him and his family especially his wife and children.
Woo that was hard to watch but it’s one video no Bears fan should miss. I’m so happy he was inducted in his lifetime and that he was able to be a part of the ceremony. I’m glad the NFL could make all of this happen, recognition so deserved.
Beyond the hype the senior selections are the best for what ever reason they get selected over year after year yet what they done continues to shine till one day they can’t be denied to be where they belong and once there you realize it should have been all along !
Happy for Steve, he was a great football player and he wrestled in WCW as a member of the 4 Horsemen and did great in that role and really fit in, a good man, thank you
I only know of him through his wrestling career, but have watched clips of his football stuff. Well deserved. Very entertaining guy during WCW run and even his stuff in WWF was great.
Absolutely amazing and I’m so glad Steve was alive to see this. Unfortunately ALS has taken many NFL players and we hope Steve is here for lots of more time.
I will go to Canton just to see his bust. I am not even a Bears fan but really liked him living in Chicago and hearing him on the radio. So sad he could not have been there in person and could speak. He is one of a kind and clearly respected and loved who he was and loved his passion for the sport and the Bears.
I’m both glad and sad they did this while he’s still with us
It's almost sadder with him still with us. Glad he knows though.
It's basically his last wish before he passes. Kudos to the NFL for putting this together for his family.
Looks like they cut it as close as possible.
@@protroll697 Yeah.
He waited for this induction. He would not rest until he was inducted.. ❤😢💔
I'm in tears, such a beautiful moment..... Thank you Misty for everything you did to get Mongo enshrined!
