Raider Fan here .. God Bless him !!! Loved watching him in WCW and on the field. Mongo is a and will be always a Tuff Bad A** DUDE. I’ll keep you in my prayers !!!
Such a good dude who always embodied strength. So sorry he’s going through this horrible disease but happy he was alive to see himself go into the Hall with Fame 👏
That is a man’s man right there. God bless you Mongo, never watched football but I loved you in WCW, especially on commentary going back and forth with The great Bobby Heenan.
I thought he was a horrible wrestler, but he was more of an entertainer. He was the "enforcer" that walked around with a beautiful woman, a little dog, and a briefcase that stood there and looked tough. He played his part well, and was a good commentator Insane to see this "monster" of a guy in the condition he is in today. Glad he's accomplished so much in his life and has no regrets
Spot on. Finally the HOF and the NFL finally got their shit together and put McMichael in the Hall of Fame before he passes away. McMicheal was deserving of being enshrined and should have been in the Hall decades ago. This honor is terribly long overdue.
Wow, this is just sad. I remember how mad he was at the McCaskey family when he was at the end of his career. And to hear him now give them thanks says a lot about this man. He's lived a great life and deserved more perhaps. But he seems grateful for what he was given.
What a beautiful message Sir. Thank you. I see you will now become a hall of famer. Im happy for you. You seem in acceptance and peace. God be with you.❤
Bear Down, Steve! Thanks for the memories. You guys made us all feel like we were a part of your Championship season, (and family), and all the ups and downs before and after. God Bless you 🙏✝️🙏

As an avid pro football fan, it's hard to imagine these big, strong athletes being stricken with such terrible diseases. But they are mortal too. Dwight Clark died due to ALS a few years ago. Like him, Steve seems to be handling this with such grace, expressing more concern for others than for himself. I do pray for you.
@@CoachTR Sadly he passed away in 2018 at just 61 years old. Even though I didn't personally know these guys, it's heart-breaking to see your heroes taken so early.

The speed of his decline is stunning and sad. We all need to realize these guys are literally sacrificing their health for our entertainment. Safety has improved some but you can bet this is still going on under the radar. As a KC fan I didn't follow him like I should, but always knew he was a beast. Bless the friends and family of this true Hall of Famer
You can’t prevent injuries from happening in a contact sport like tackle football. I’m sure you’ll love when the NFL officially turns to flag football. ALS isn’t derived from a helmet to helmet hit let alone a tackle 😂😂😂
@@MrTrojan72 I didn't mean to imply ALS was from his football days, if you took it that way. I worked with a guy that played for the Seahawks for almost a decade and he was a beast as well. The hits to the head have taken a toll on him and he's not even 60, struggling with basics things in life.
They are not sacrificing their health for our entertainment. Total bs. They do it for love of game and livelihood. I've never heard a football player say I went into the sport because I wanted to help others through entertainment.
My brothers deteriorated pretty rapidly as well. He passed 28 months after diagnosis. It's been 20 years this past June. Not a single day goes by that I don't appreciate those 28 months as well as the 43 years before that. I miss my best friend.
I don’t know if words can capture it, maybe watching the old game footage and the cameras panning the crowds can capture it. What Mongo and the rest of that team created was feeling good, feeling excited, positive, energized, full of life. That 85 Superbowl and that era meant a lot to my dad as grown man, and to me as a kid at the time, and meant a lot to so many Bears fans. I wish for comfort and happy memories for McMichael as he faces ALS now.

It's crazy how life can take unexpected turns. He was so big and strong on the field, and he was a big tough wrestler in WCW. Now he's dwindled into almost nothing and bedridden. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a cruel illness that causes the motor neurons inside your spinal cord to die. Over time, your muscles degenerate and you become a prisoner in your own body - progressively losing the ability to move, speak, swallow and, eventually, breathe. There is no cure. No one has ever gotten better after a diagnosis of ALS. The battle is almost over. Prayers to him.
I never had the opportunity, to see McMichael's play in the NFL. But in the ring at WCW. McMichael's was awesome. Some of his promos, as a wrestler and an announcer was hilarious. Especially, when he was part of the horseman. Great individual. God bless him and his family.
