Yeah, true that. The natural light outside might be an issue but the fact that gps and its mobile gives it a lot of flexibility, i could totally see that happening!

YES! Totally IMPRESSIVE with these inexpensive 3D AR glasses. Im new in this AR entertainment world and this video host explained to me what i needed to know about how these AR goggles work especially like the way the host explained how workings are for and what they can do and instructions on how to get started with it. So thanks for putting this video on TH-cam guy.

Just bought the Starwars version. This would make for an amazing e-reader. I'll have to write a program and try it.
If you just use the Google Cardboard APIs, mirror the visuals and switch the input from the accelerometers, that would work.

Rashad Glover sorry, they never released an SDK -- it's 100% closed. What I'm saying is you can do 3DoF on the headset only uaibh existing tech. It needs a bit of playing around as Google Cardboard etc assume the phone will be sitting differently (facing your eyes rather than facing the ground) but the very basics are theoretically possible. Full 6DoF? Probably never available to meet mortals like us.

I love this thing- I hope they make more games. There are only two right now. I like the AR experience-less intrusive than vr, and doesn’t give me a headache.
The concept of this "headset" has huge potential if it is made accessible for all app developers. It sounds like it basically just runs the software on your smartphone, which means Android and iOS apps.
I assume the actual tracking is done by an app running in the background on the phone, which feeds the tracking data to the game apps? Unless the game apps each the ability to use the cameras in the headset, to do their own tracking.
I know of at least one PC VR app that has a prototype build for android as well. It isn't made to use the tracking in this headset specifically, but it might be able to implement support, I'd imagine.
That is so 90's looking, fucking love it. I want headsets like this VR+AR.
looks like the original price late last year was $250. So it looks like it flopped hard and they want to get rid of the stock...

What is the PC case on the desk behind you? I love it.
I'm kinda excited that a product like this could make quality VR more easily available to people who have phones but not enough to drop on a high end HMD. One thing I didn't like about Nolo VR is that the devices ran out of power too quickly and the USB cables had too much tension on the ports, causing the cables to fall out too easily.

Hey could I also use this AR headset for VR and also can i use the tracking beacon for VR to like get full body tracking on steam VR the reason why I'm asking if I can use it for VR is not bc the Lenovo mirage ar has 2 games but bc the one I found one for sale is only with tracking beacon the small cable and tracking beacon and if I try to find controllers well they aren't in my country

These type of headsets are what hold VR back IMO. we need Quest type experiences to boost VR. I also do not like the fact this is even called VR or AR when its using a phone. Just a better version of cardboard box with controllers

random stretch of it: if you can get 6dof on a phone with THIS (ok, it's not the best, but it's 6dof), it would be interesting to see if a more capable "serious" addon headset and better planing could bring back phone vr at least as a 'sub Quest' thing for an all in one portable setup

I had the star wars version and it was pretty cool but I returned because back then it was $200 dollars and it didn't seem worth it. It was really cool but the problem I had was that it only had one game. I have been trying to see if Lenovo releases any sdk for developers and they haven't!! It would be great if we could get access to a sdk to create new apps. I think this is the best cheapest solution to AR.

A)Pretty solid device built, You can't find a built better than that in this price range for mobile ar and vr.
B) the device can be used for vr as well...
C) you can modify it, connect it on pc and start doing other things with other apps.

Can you browse or load and select different 180 3D videos from TH-cam on this without taking your phone out for each video? And would the head tracking work correctly with those videos?
unfortunately you can't for now, you are limited to these 2 apps, but they tracking would work

@@brettcameratraveler The problem is that Google Cardboard-style apps won't flip the screen appropriately to account for the visuals being viewed through a mirror, so the vast majority of 3D content is incompatible.
Not to mention that only one accelerometer will be rotating on the expected axis.
I like how they show in the ad that it has 100+ Fov when you look at the people playing it and the reflection on the plastic shield hahahahaha.....

It got 2 controllers this is good because the reason Samsung gearvr failed was because you are stuck with one 3dof controller no way you can play beatsaber with only one controller this headset is 2 controllers and beatsaber could be ported to it

Gearvr failed because phones are not powerful enough for VR and there was no way to do 6dof at the required latency. Gearvr is not real VR either. It's using two identical images instead of two virtual cameras.
@@SoggyMicrowaveNugget VR uses a virtual environment that does not utalize the real world. AR uses the real world as a platform. They are not even remotely the same.

I think the Aryzon AR/MR headset is a bit more affordable ;-)
If this $40 headset can include knuckle strap controllers, then VR headsets like the Rift S and HP Reverb G2 have no excuse not to. That goes double for HTC, who still include Vive wands with some of their headsets while also charging more for their headsets than others.

Also, yup, Facebook did indeed record images from the optical sensors and that data was found on their very unprotected servers. Do not buy any or use any Facebook products.
It depends on whether this thing is compatible with SteamVR.
If it is, it is actually a pretty impressive bit of kit. Sure, it's "bad" but it's workable bad and lowering the bar for access to VR is a good thing.

@@looeegee people arent hating it because ita mainstream. They hate them because they record way more stuff than they have any right to. I hate facebook because of Karens, and the bs stuff that comes out of it. Not to mention what they did to my boy oculus. I love my quest, but they took some basic functions of the device like having multiple accounts, behind linking it to your Facebook account.
