- Deadly Lion fight for territory young male lions refuse to give up their kingdom and the old lion king pay dearly for trying to claim land that does not belong to him in my latest Kruger national park wildlife sighting. Filmed at Kambaku River Lodge.

In the end, I think he only fought to be left alone. No energy to run, no desire to defeat the younger males, but a desire to just be. I may be wrong though. 🤔

Impressive.. The old king lays a nasty bite 3 seconds in, then he fights out of being pinned by both lions by attacking the leg, and proceeds to charge forward ferociously despite his injuries. Old king was an absolute monster.
I hated that they tried to rip his balls off in the tag team.

Those birds were a bit irritating. I expected some kind of vocal commentry, at least giving some background context. Had they hunted him, or just come on him in the bush? Like. Wrong place to be old king. "Take that old king f..ker. "I'll hold his neck while you mess up his back bro"
Even with a broken back he fought to the end. If his partner showed a bit earlier they probably could have held them off. Life as a lion is ruthlessly brutal.
His partner probably received the same treatment when though he was late to the party.

The fact that it took two younger lions just to injure an old king(couldn't even kill him right away)just shows how badass and strong the king was. Just look how they had to stop because they were so tired.
Lions don't have very good endurance, but they are persistent bullies. Typically, this is how dominant males are dethroned - by coalitions of other males. They don't even necessarily try to kill him, but rather break the spine and/or pelvic bones so they can't hunt (even if they somehow survive and heal), and mutilate the genitals so they are recognized as useless to females.

It’s amazing how the old King seemingly acknowledges defeat and his fate but refuses to run away. He rather dies in his kingdom and on his own terms. The young lions also seem content toward the end to indulge the old warrior in this demand. They become less tense as they witness the defeated king succumb to his fate.

The two young lions shook the spot when re-enforcements arrived. Then they turned back and dispatched the lion that came to help before returning to finish off the mortally wounded king.
But those two young lions will be paid back in spades in about 3-4 years when they are older and some new kids on the block arrive to rip their kingdom away.

This is an amazing system of nature. Lot to learn from this. Once this weak Lion was the King, roaming around fearlessly in his Kingdom. He probably finished off his rival same way as he is being finished by the current king and his companion. Beautiful birds are singing while a killing or a war for a kingdom is taking place .. what a contrast! Nature has been evolving such a way for a thousands of years if not millions.

It’s a sad irony that these two lions when they get old will suffer the SAME fate when new young lions enter their territory and dish out the same type of attack on them.
The jupiter the same fate this mighty king payed out to the one/ones he dethroned to claim this kingdom.this scenario played out for many thousands of years before these and will do so many many years to come.They know this,thus the importance to dominate,keep safe and rule their land as long as possible.in doing so there lioness and offspring survive,thrive.it's this that insurers their blood line continues on.Often even end up back in the land of their youth the same kingdoms of their fathers and great grandfathers to reign as king.
