    For several days I've been doing the isometric short foot exercise shown near the end of this video. It's already clear that something is happening to both of my feet. I have some interesting sensations down there. It's not pain, but an awareness in the bottoms of my feet centered in the arches. I think it's a good thing. I've been doing about 50 per foot of the exercise each day. Thanks for posting this video.

    I haven't been wearing my Correct Toes for a while. Laziness, i'm afraid. But seeing your feet right now has just encouraged me to get them out and put them on. Your feet are truly perfect now. I will be doing these exercises too. Thank you for your encouragement.

    Hello, thank you for this video. I'm wondering if these same exercises are also helpful for morton's neuroma, which I have been diagnosed with at the second intermetatarsal space neuroma measuring 7 mm. Are these exercises recommended for morton's neuroma too? Thank you for all the information you post.

    If there is a muscle imbalance resulting in claw toes, will strengthening the plantar intrinsic muscles make the condition worse? If so, then what muscles should you strengthen to help improve muscle balance and avoid claw toes? Thanks.

    The big toe on my left foot is broken and won't bend at the first (distal) joint, it's been that way since shortly after birth...coincidentally, that's the side I have plantar fasciosis. The main joint (closest to the foot) is very stiff and difficult to bend down in the chair type stretches you demonstrate on other videos, but I am trying to get more motion by continuing to do the stretches. Do I need to look at having this break corrected surgically, or do you feel I can rehab it with +Correct Toes? I'm wishing I lived in Portland right now, I'd come in for an evaluation!

    I'm very glad to have discovered your channel. I've had sesamoiditis for many years now, constantly coming back. I tried everything, from different kind of shoes to numerous special orthotics costing me around €300, all with no result. I'm very excited to learn about the natural toe alignment. I want to start with a combination of Correct Toes, Injiji socks and Lems minimal boots. Next to that, I'm going to try your foot exercises + walking half an hour every day to gain more strength in my feet. Hopefully this is finally going to do the trick. Thank you very much :)

      @@enligh10ed8 Hey, I'm sorry for the late reply... well my correct toes tore apart after a year of intensive use. I didn't wear them properly. Nevertheless wearing them in combination with barefoot shoes pretty much cured my sesamoiditis and other foot illments.
      Seldom I get a really a light inflammation but that's usually the cause of squatting too much in workboots during my day job. Thought it would be a cool idea to design minimal workboots.
      I can honestly recommend correct toes if you're starting to transition from normal shoes to barefoot. It feels great and lends you that extra support.
      Just my two cents. Wish you luck and God bless

      @@HumbledGoat No worries on the late reply. I'm glad to hear that your foot pain is greatly reduced. The reason I asked is because yours are the exact same steps I took. CorrctToes, Injinji and Lems, and wanted to know how you were getting on these days.
      Conventional footwear is definitely messing up everyone's feet. It's so sad. I'm about one year in, and although my feet, as well as soles, are stronger, my pain is not gone completely. Also, anyone reading this in the future, it takes a multi-faceted approach to fixing your feet. Including your posture, gait, hip mobility even your back and shoulder strength. At least for me it has. But I feel I'm on the right path.
      Bless you, too

    If our feet are not in correct perfect alignment yet , i.e. hammer toes and bunions, but we are currently utilizing the correct toes, should we not perform any of these strengthening exercises until they are in perfect alignment? much appreciated.

    Is there any other way to check if your feet are in proper alignment before performing these exercises other than your toes?

    • @correcttoes
      @correcttoes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Leilani! Thanks for the thoughtful question. A good way to check alignment during these exercises is by making sure that your toes are equally spaced out, and also that when you bear weight on your foot, it doesn't pronate (turn in) or supinate (turn out). Here is a short video that goes over this a bit further: th-cam.com/video/miHeUrVEYJI/w-d-xo.html

    Hi, I have sesamoiditis for 6 months. Will any of those things you mentioned in the video help?

    • @correcttoes
      @correcttoes  ปีที่แล้ว

      It most definitely can! Sesamoiditis is very specific and can be from a combination of things, it's recommended to get an assessment with your provider and incorporate healthier footwear to help heal your injury. Toe spring will be a huge thing to avoid when dealing with the ball of foot, hammer toes, sesamoiditis injuries; be mindful of what caused your injury and what's currently giving you pain!

    Is it ok to do these exercises with a toe separator?

    • @correcttoes

      It is, but if they fall off that's okay! From personal experience, some exercises work and sometimes they end up getting in the way!

  • @johnatyoutube
    @johnatyoutube ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you always have that amount of toe splay or did you develop it over time? If so, how long did it take? It's quite fantastic!
    It also looks a little alien to me because, like most of us, I've been culturally programmed to find a narrow foot attractive. I discovered the barefoot movement earlier this year and am now only wearing minimalist shoes. But no matter how much I go barefoot and wear toe spreaders, my toes won't do that. But I am building strength and balance and proper foot-leg-hip alignment.
    Thanks for your wonderful channel and product!

    • @correcttoes
      @correcttoes  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's definitely been a process! Patience and commitment have been key in the realignment of Dr. McClanahan's feet. He actually had what is called "crossover toes," meaning his toes would overlap each other. Which is a large part of his research and invention of Correct Toes. He tells his story here and it is quite fascinating, th-cam.com/video/aT7fLqJiOng/w-d-xo.html

      Hi Bob! Great question. To help the conditions under the umbrella of metatarsalgia (whether it's capsulitis, neuroma, sesamoiditis, etc.), we might recommend stretching exercises like the bunion stretch, toe extensor stretch, and the use of metatarsal pads and Correct Toes. The stretching exercises are available on our channel. Please let us know if you have any questions!
