Huge fan of Dr. Ray. I'm 61 and I've been wearing Correct Toes and minimalist shoes for the last 6 months along with foot and full body mobility exercises and my planter pain totally disappeared and my foot strength and balance has greatly improved. I trail walk every day and I'm looking forward to more improvement in 2023.
I'm also a huge fan of Bob and Brad. They along with Dr. Ray and 3 mobility focused channels have made a huge difference in my life. I would have never gotten this kind of help in a doctor's office. I'm very grateful for their contributions to the evolution of health care.

What’s the best protocol for a plantar fascia tear

@@naturallymichele4754 If you have a tear, definitely see a doctor. If you can find a holistic podiatrist like Dr. Ray, they'll find the least invasive treatment for you. I hope you feel better.

This is great! A holistic foot surgeon. I had hammertoes from poor fitting shoes since childhood. By my 40s I was walking on my 8 small toenails, deforming them. I was determined to try homemade splints, spacers, stretches and exercises, which greatly improved my alignment. People say, "you can only fix hammertoes with surgery". I'm so glad I didn't listen and stuck with it...almost 3 yrs now. I still work on them daily and go barefoot unless I'm in public. I also went up 2 shoe sizes! My feet look fine now but I'm going for perfection! 😀

This is tremendously helpful to me since I have both a bunion and what I believe to be plantar faciosis in the same foot. I've always thought Nike's toe box to be too narrow for running, but my alternate still looks to be too narrow by Dr. McClanahan's recommendations, so thank you. I learned so much from this.

Thank you. I just noticed a bunion just beginning in December 2022 and I KNEW it had to be reversible without surgery. I will take pictures today and follow your advice. I'll share this with my dad too.

Excellent interview. I wish i had heard of Dr McClanahan earlier, a wealth of information. I encourage others to view his web site. He provides the most common sense approach to treatment before going the surgical route. Thank you.

Wish I’d heard of you last year! Bunionectomy on both feet. One needed the hardwear removed - bone graft and hardwear replaced. Ouch. Still needing spacers for comfort. Noticing the most problematic foot has a returning bunion. I miss running. I miss walking properly, for that matter. Thank you for another way to look at shoes and spacers. Life changes today!

I've got religion about natural foot remodeling for bunionettes, hammer toe, and PF. Sure wish Dr. Ray had a sibling who treated shoulders the same way!!

There must be more exercises than the extensor stretch. Can you do a video on short foot, other intrinsic training? Should we be stretching our Achilles?

Oh ya that short foot stretch! Felt so good when I could finally do it. I had such weak muscles when I started working on my foot alignment I wasn't sure if I'd ever be able to do several exercises. It took a LOT of focus and effort to just figure out how to make those atrophied muscles twitch!!! Crazy.

What about I have worn out my metatarsal pads from walking barefoot on my very hard hardwood floor for five years. Now I the only shoes that I can wear are Hoka’s because they have loads of cushion & with thick professional orthodics. How do you improve that so I can wear some of the shoes you recommend? Any suggestions?

    • @davegoslingphoto

Same! Have a Mortons Neuroma and the worst thing I can do is walk barefoot on hard floors! I use the Hoka's as well! the only shoe I can use for work!

Metatarsal pads by Pedag. I bought them through naturalfootgear online.

I have all this . But I really wish this Dr would speak less on foot anatomy terminology more in common terms layman’s TERMS 😵

  • @kj3d812

Sadly, Crocs are not zero drop -- they have an 8mm drop heel to toe -- and they have built-in arch support, which is not good for everyone's feet. (Very, very few people truly need arch support.) Once you get used to zero drop, it's eye-opening to put on a pair of non-zero drop shoes...it feels awful.

I don't care much for Bob and Brad videos. When I was all over youtube 3yrs ago to find hammertoe info they seemed clueless but to regurgitate standard advice. Offputting, being that one had hammertoes himself.
