- My content is usually focused on helping people clean and organize their homes for free, but I have my own home and yard to take care of, too, so I thought it would be fun to film some of the projects we are working on outside.
In this video, I will be cleaning off my back patio, shining up my grill, pulling out some perennials and planting annuals, and giving you a little peek at some of the backyard projects I need to do.

I love the yard content. My age has slowed me considerably but it's still so relaxing to go out and pull weeds and putter around in the flower beds.

Grill looks great! Miss Lori still is an angel of a doggie -even if she decided to bark at the person passing by. The front rock flower bed came out real nice.

Thank you! I have gone back and forth about posting a video in ASMR style where I'm just pulling weeds because I find that sound so relaxing, especially when I go out there early in the mornings and it's pretty quiet, but the birds are just chirping in the background while I'm pulling weeds. Maybe I will just add it on to the end of a video as a bonus thing since I am not sure how well it would do on its own..😊

For sure even outdoor areas need tending and care. To maintain ones home and garden is to love them. Keep planting the fruit trees. You are providing your neighbourhood with a community service. Where do people stand and park on a hot day? Under a tree!

Your husband with the tiller was funny and Lori is wonderful! I love the big rocks in the front garden with the low succulents growing on them so it broke my heart a little when you took them out. I’m hoping you put some back or use those somewhere else? When looking for perennials, find plants that are native to your area. Some drought tolerant plants such as echinacea, salvia, and dianthus have beautiful colors and it’s always good to add ground cover plants as well. (Yeah, I love to garden!) I think this will be a good series Bonnie!
Yeah, I have to say it did break my heart a little bit as well to pull some of those out because I thought they looked really nice, but I also wanted to support my husband in doing annuals at least 1 year and see how it goes. I'm sure we're going to end up with a mixture of perennials and annuals next year. I did leave in some of the hen and chick plants and we did replant two of the bigger perennials in our backyard. A lot of the ground cover type of stuff we already have quite a bit of in our backyard and those are super easy to split and plants them between other rocks, so that's what I think I will do either later this summer or next year is just take some from our backyard to replant up here between the rocks.

I love gardening! Petunias are so pretty you have to pick/cut off the dead blooms at the stem next to the stock or they go to seed and quit blooming when the plant gets long and sticky cut them back hard 2 to 3 inches and they come back fuller. You may already know this but I thought I would leave the tip!🌸🌺🌼❤👍🏼

I LOVE IT! How wonderful to see your garden! I have bever been to Utah and it's interesting to see what is growing there vs. here in the Scottish Highlands. I am an avid gardener and I loved this video! THANK YOU sweet Bonnie. Gorgeous doggy LOOORRRRIIIEEEEE! HAHAHA! I have a flat coat retriever, a BIG BABY, but he has a BARK! OH my goodness, our dog HATES flies and bees. If one flies into the house, he does a runner! 🙂 Um, I have never heard of the ditty you recited! HAHAHA! You have made me laugh a LOT in this video! I half half perennial and half annual plants in my yards because I do like the change of texture and colors, but love some of the same plants and flowers in the same place each year. Don’t feel bad about not knowing the names of things, I’m sure most of us choose by aesthetic of the plant or coloring and forget what it was😁 Loved seeing the hens!!

Don't feel like you need to watch these outdoor ones if they are not up your alley. It's totally fine.😉 I am still trying to decide whether or not they are worth the time to make. I will probably still do them, but maybe less often than I was initially thinking... like once a month for a little update for those who want it.

Totally love the yard video. That must’ve been spectacular when those big rocks were out in! Great idea your hubby had to use curving around flowerbeds-that makes it so much easier to trim around them. I really enjoyed watching your planting. I keep telling my husband he needs to start one of those free yard cleanup channels, just do it on the weekends. That's where the TH-cam views are crazy high. I love those before and afters as well!

Your front garden will be so colourful! I love it already with the lush green grass and the contrast with the rocks, and the daffodils! I have planted daffodils too...But we are entering winter down here so I'll be waiting a while for them to pop up again.

We are not on well water and we don't have rain barrels, though the secondary water is not terribly expensive to run. I bet you get a lot of rain there in Oregon!😊

We have something called grass trees and they have fronds that have a satisfying snap when you break them, just like sage brush! I LOVE rocks in gardens and I love your garden! Thanks, Bonnie!

I'm a perennial person myself, lol! I like to plant once and not every year. You do what you like!!
I did love our perennials because they are so easy to maintain, but my husband has wanted to do annuals at least one year to try them out, so this is that year.🤷♀️😁 I guess we'll see how it goes. I think we will probably end up doing a mixture of both next year. 😊
