I have been looking at all the reviews, for the most part they have been good, you were the most honest and straightforward on the city streets AND highway, speeding as much and slow down handling is crucial for me in the NYC area. I am taller than you 6'2" and it would probably feel better with my long arms and legs. forward controls are a must and the shorter bars would be best for my reach and comfort. I say: Thank you!! Do a side by side for the enjoyment, they may not match, but Harley is not doing as well as once, Indian is picking up steam in my area. The 101 is it for me. They modernized it but didn't lose the Indian classic style, just stepped up looks and tech with safety in mind as well. The agility and all around ride is what persuaded me to go this route, again many thanks. Well done.
Marvel thank you for a great review. About a year and a half ago I purchased a 2023 Kawasaki Z900RS which is a great bike. I had a 2017 Harley Dyna Lowrider before this which was also a great bike but at age 64 I was concerned about the Dynas weight which was just south of 700 lbs. The Kawasaki is sitting a little tall for me now as I have some arthritis coming on. The 101 attracted my attention for its seat height and appearance and the horsepower is about the same as my Kawasaki. I plan on trading the Kawasaki in for the 101 down the road but I want to wait a little bit to allow Indian to work out some kinks. I have read where some riders have experienced stalling issues, battery issues, and some erroneous readings on the Ride Command. I have been riding 50+ years and this is to be expected on a newly revamped bike. I like the 101 for its reasonable weight, seat height, power, and appearance, not to mention I have an Indian dealer a short distance away. Thanks again for the review.
great high rev motor, solid platform, tons of pull, tech and just an overall great bike. Scout platform is Indian's BIGGEST hit since it came out all the way back to 1920. And here we are again, since 2015 those Scout sales BOOM.
I have a 2019 Scout and I love it. I would love to get a 101 if they had them in blue lol. But since getting my Challenger, it feels like a toy, but that's not a bad thing.
Probably the best sport cruiser besides the bigger low rider s. My only gripe is the engine casings are a bit ugly because besides that it's awesome. I can see this taking from the sport chief sales
It’s a nice bike ! I’m a Harley guy but man that Indian is nice ¡ I love the forward controls tho lol nice video June God bless. How’s the head buffering with that small windshield ?
With all said, is it worth the price tag? I see the Sport Scout, same functions? Engine engineered slight different for the extra HP. You can do the upgrade via a package Indian offers, but again, from your experience is the 101 a superior bike? I appreciate the added information. I am looking to buy soon.
Well ya know Harley supports sex change for kids without parental consent so if that doesn’t make ya forget about Harley , I have nothing else to say but disgusting.
@@turo360 well keep in mind Harley actively supports very gross child sex laws and with the profit from your purchase. So , if you have kids or just are simply concerned for their well being , let that influence your decision. Personally they will never get another dime from me. Been riding and buying Harley since 91’. I’m out. Save the kids is my motto.
Bought my first Harley 11-22 A brand new 22 lowrider ST and I’ve had nothing but issues with it And I don’t ride my bike hard or do stunts But 5k miles and it’s been in the shop a handful of times so I’m going through with a lemon law now Love the motorcycle It’s everything I wanted other then the problems and the the HD corporation is a joke as well I’ve been doing lots of research on Indian and I’m definitely heading their way once the lemon law stuff passes

Very nice , kills the sportster in design , this is a sharp ass ride , not feeling the gold items personally, everyone is different, but its a winner. Definitely need more aftermarket support for these rides . 5:52
Nice bike, but they def left room on the table for some improvements, so they can ask $20 thousand for the obvious upgrades next year. Why has no one Redlined this on test vids, yet? Does it want to Vibrate apart?
It’s not a low rider but can you compare this to the iron 883 in anyway. Also was waiting for the Bike riders movie review and why it never happened then I watched it and was disappointed
With all drama surrounding Harley Davidson right now its quite comical to see an Indian review right now lol. That being said I have 2024 Low Rider ST and im not getting rid of it. Definitely interested in covering the Harley logo on the tank and get rig of the bar and shield on the bags.
I have a 23 LRS and although this is a great alternative to the new Harley sportsters, especially looks, it really doesn't compete with the LRS. LRS is much heavier with a 5 gallon tank and with the addition of bags and windshield or fairing can do some real touring. Also the 117 engine on the LRS is much more powerful. Wouldn't mind this as a second around town scooter but don't like forward controls for that. Besides my reason for having buying the LRS was as a do it all bike and it really fits that pretty well.
Lmao that seat was horrible for anyone over 200 lbs. I rode one at a demo day. 20 min. ride, my ass was not happy. I ripped on the bike pretty hard in sport mode, very fun bike.
It has almost the same fuel capacity 3gal vs 3.5gal. In my thoughts it’s more sportier looking( also lighter). More customisation options like - handle bars, seats, pillion seats, suspension, etc. good breaks, good power, Everything at a lower price to Indian Scout. One thing which Harley definitely needs is to get rid of its current CEO who is only good in increasing the prices and cutting all models that people could buy. He will take even the jobs to another place. What a shame. I think his decisions are not good.
@@Hipporider absolutely I agree 1000% the bad thing about it is the exhaust that comes aftermarket is just as big as the stop exhaust. I’m waiting for Vansen to come out with something not so big that was my point.
Performance and forward controls just don't go together! Indian blew it on that one for sure! It looks really good, BUT performance and forward controls.. 🤣😂
I sat on one in a dealer, and it definitely makes sense to order one with mid-controls. I think that setup comes standard simply to stay in line with comparative bikes like the Vrod, Sportser S, etc...
@@JSIV-j7p Okay, yeah that makes sense, and i don't like the V-Rod either for the same reason even though Porsche design the engine. I just can’t get pass the stupid forward controls.
@@JSIV-j7p But i can always add mid controls to her, and i would also go with Kraus 8' risers and bars, Saddlemen step up seat, Öhlins front and rear suspension and a aftermarket 2 into 1 exhaust for sure.
It's a good looking bike but I really do like the more industrial appearance of the old engine
That paint scheme is 🔥🔥🔥
The stock seat is made by Corbin for the 101.
There is a 10 inch accessory handlebar riser. Also, mid controls are available as an accessory too.

I so love the look on the 101 especially in the white model. Being 5’8” here I would definitely need mid controls
I'd be the opposite. I like forwards and not mids lol.

Try test riding a BMW R1250R. It has all the tech you can find in any vehicle .

It’s a beautiful bike
I did a demo days at local dealership. I thought it was a lot better version of my Breakout 114. Still love my current DIAVEL v4 better than both!

Where’s that inst. cluster go with a pull back, into the paint?
Heard a customer complain about refuelling the gas tank is a bit quirky. Can you share your experience
Beautiful bike. I could buy that Indian.
I owned a 2015 scout for 5 years. Fun machine except the excessive forward controls and limited travel rear suspension was horrible for my back.
I will definitely take this out for a test drive. Maybe trade my Streetbob 114
Are those turn signals, self cancelling? 🤔
Yes

Should add that to your garage or a sports chief
Do you have to pay for Maps after a certain time?
No it’s part of the bike

In switzerland you wont get a good looking exhaust that sounds nice and is legal
What is your height pls?
he is 5 7
Not everyone is short us 6 foot 3 + people wouldn't complain about forward controls
