I envy you. South Korea is meant to be a really beautiful place with good people, lots to see and great food and beer. I'm led to believe that if you haven't tried their barbeque chicken, you haven't lived.
Actually, I think that the audio not coming out as planned might've been a blessing in disguise. The voiceover worked very nicely and it could be a nice way of leveling up the edit adding it here and there. Great vid Darcy! Wish you and your family the best.
As you're trekking round quite a bit of Asia, keep an eye out for the SWM/Shineray V1200 that the Chinese company announced back in 2022. I think it has already been released in China as the Shineray V1200 Stormbreaker, and it's effectively a Harley Sportster clone. (And when I say clone, I mean complete copy!) As you're a Harley owner, it would be interesting to hear from you how it compares with the genuine article.
Like you we live in a small village in the country so i was amazed by all those skyscrapers it looked like a Star Trek set from the future. Just couldn't see me living in a concrete jungle like that. As for the bikes sorry Darcy neither float my boat, i have owned a couple of light weight cruisers but never took to the front feet lark.
Ah, orange anodised front forks. Why do they do that? I was more intrigued by the road infrastructure and total lack of vehicles…how good is that !! Enjoy the rest of the trip. Sounds like a great holiday. Low Rider St would be my pick out of the two😎👍
Yes, Koreans love big bikes even though they live in a small country with tight speed limits. This is a result of the vanity of the riders and the collaboration of dealers to survive in a small market.
Great comparison of the Indian Scout Bobber 101 and the Harley-Davidson Low Rider S. I'm really impressed with the Indian Scout Bobber 101. It's a great-looking bike with a lot of power Sir.
As a Lowrider ST owner I may be biased in saying I love it a whole lot more than a Scout lol. I’m actually currently touring on it from Houston Texas to Colorado in the US. That’s what I love about it, just as good around town as it is on a long tour. Ride safe sir, and enjoy your travels!
Nice video , I’ve a 23 scout bobber. If I’m honest the new looks great but really don’t like the stock exhaust. You are right the previous bobber engine looked way better
Excellent vid, & quite an eye opener. I imagined South Korea to be like West Germany in the 60's. eg. enforced 'normalcy' masking the nervous tensions of having an ominous presence next door. Maybe I need to get out more - thinks; renewing my passport would be a good 'starter for ten'! Well done for swapping-sides while riding - without crunching into things! - skill-level booster : )
i was in Busan in the very early 80's when in the Navy, and the city looked nothing like it does now...i had a 3 piece suit tailor made for a whopping $47 US LOL...
Just a heads up, I don’t know if it was lost in translation or just said incorrectly but that isn’t a Scout 101 Bobber. It’s just a scout 101, it can’t be the bobber because the bobber is naked and has lowered stock suspension, with a fairing and taller shocks it by definition can’t be a bobber, nor does that combination exist.
Good video. The Indian Scout Bobber 101being a water colled bike with it's typically higher H.P. to tourque isn't really a good comparison to the Harley Low Rider S.T. with an air cooled engine. A closer comparison would be the Indian Super Chief Limited.
You are one of the very few comparing the Scout 101 with Low Rider S, which I know are two completely different class of bikes, but I love them both! Test rode the LRS and excited to try out the 101. What are you guys leaning with?
Great upload as usual. That Indian rear license plate holder is by far the most hideous thing I've ever seen on a motorcycle. Even worse than the UK license plate.
Always thoroughly enjoy your videos along with your Ole mans. Korea looks great especially the weather and although I’m not a Harley enthusiast I would definitely take the Harley over the Indian. Old school has more characters. I ride an RE Bullet 500 now and performance is a swear word but it give enjoyment in spades…
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I remember you mentioned that in a video. It's a pity. I suppose Cruisers are a little 'niche' in the UK. How are you and the Old Man doing with your overseas views?
what a great place ,, and polite people ,,, the indian does look like a slim because polaris have spent most of their budget copying it ;;; while stupid harley dropped it ;;; and made that water cooled rubbish which no one want's ;; i see the traffic is almost non existent ;;
I think its quite funny how at one time harleys Indians ect were about the noise now the new ones sound terrible plus there are new restrictions in the usa on exhaust s and cats . Indian for me 😅
While the specs are OK for a cruiser, I can't understand why (at least where I live) this thing costs the same as vastly more powerful, capable and better equipped bikes from other premium manufacturers like the Speed Triple RS and the Tuono V4. It just seems like all cruisers are grossly overpriced.
They have considerably more torque which trumps power in the real world, and being able to scrape the knees in corners isn’t the benchmark of capability tbh. Also, less is more; modern technology all over a bike does nothing for the riding experience and connection with man and machine. 👍🏼
@MrDarcy-OlMan Those are fair points, but a bike with a simple to design (when compared to high revving, highy compression, over square design), torque first engine, basic componentry, and limited electronics should be cheaper. I love the Guzzi V7, but that bikes price aligns far more fairly with its level of performance, components, and tech. Are cruisers just intrinsically a rip-off?
Like Indian but worried about build quality. U Tuber local to me handed his back after numerous problems, clutch etc. I don’t know if he was just unlucky?
Wow !!! Indian actually managed to have the engine look like it's made by Playmobil toys....How...ehh....hideous...and totally uncool. Better off with Guzzi bikes.
What's so special about a combined bike and boat dealership? Back in my old home town there is a combined Yamaha and Yamarin dealer. Yamarin is a Finnish boat maker who uses exlusively Yamaha's engines.
In Norway it's usual to combine motorcycle stores with boat, or maybe more common is atv and snowmobile. The Suzuki importer is also a importer of many different boats, so not uncommon for his dealer to also offer boats. The KTM dealers in many cases also offer ATV, snowmobiles and jetski's. Some Yamaha dealers also offer Yamaha marine motors, and boats.
The exhaust on the Indian was seriously ugly. I would mot buy that bike you said it could keep up with an MT09 I have to say seriously doubt it. The Yamaha would out handle it. The Harleys engine just looks so much better.
If you’re comparing an MT09 (a standard style sport bike) to the Scout 101 (a cruiser designed for both creature comforts and long trip touring) your opinion is irrelevant. Compare the MT09 to the FTR and the conversation begins. I don’t compare Roadmasters to Sportsters…. Having personally ridden the 101 I assure you you blink and you’re over 110. It’s also an amazing city driver because the clutch takes no pressure to hold in, it’s AMAZINGLY smooth with adjustable front and rears, dual brembos front and rear stop it immediately. I was on an open road and tried to lock the rear brake/tire in a mock panic stop and the abs wouldn’t allow it. It’s absolutely night and day to compare the two, but having said that, when I buy the 101 I’ll come to you on your MT09 and we should see ;)
Didn't expect that I could see my country in this channel! What a various experiences.
