Everthing was alright until i bought this game, I've never been deeply touched about my father before like this game did. I feel safe in my own ability to be strong and thrive during harsh times and watching this video only adds to this thought. That's honestly the sheer brilliance in this game. Kratos doesn't say much, and he doesn't express emotion much. But if you look at his eyes, they say so much. The scene after Atreus kills the deer, if you just look at Kratos's eyes, you can see all the sadness, regret, and pain.

    "Be better than me" the way Kratos voice trembles, the look in his eyes, hes on the verge of tears. He truly regrets everything that he did in Greece, and the only thing in life he wants is for Atreus to succeed where he so terribly failed.
    I think that's what every true parent wants, for their child to not make the same mistakes they did, to be what their parent could not be, a better person.
    And when Atreus promises he will, you can see Kratos very nearly smile, cause in his mind hes thinking, "If for all the horrible things I have done, may you be the one good thing that came from it"

    you know after replaying the previous 6 God of war games, it feels really impactful to see Kratos like this. from a revengeful monster to an experienced father who wants nothing more than to protect his child from the horrors of the world. To protect him from becoming death itself. On a lighter note i am rather interented to see which this story ends up

    • @The_Bavlinator
      @The_Bavlinator 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      i have feeling it isn’t the horrors of the world that Kratos wants to protect Atreus from, but rather the horror of the idea of Atreus walking in his footsteps, and reaching the same villainy he once reached

    Knowing who Kratos was is very important for this scene, knowing the magnitude of destruction is crazy but I think it’s the spartan general speaking to his son in this scene , Kratos knowing what he did and how his ways set him on the path where he ended up , how this is his one chance at redemption..this scene is so Inspirational.
