Seeing the painting and seeing kratos reaction to was amazing because he never he would being something more then a destroyer and his goodbye to atreus was beautiful way to end ragnarok
Contrast to what Odin told him, how no one ever love or prayed to him, I shed a tear when Kratos found out he was the real champion of the Jortnar. Them worshipping and praising even makes Kratos almost cry, because for the first time in his life, he was a loved god
Kratos, a terrible warlord who nearly destroyed Greece by killing almost all of its gods, now a terrific hero who completely saved Scandinavia by killing Odin and only a few of its gods.
This was a perfect ending. After playing this game, we don't need another God of War. Kratos, the God of War is done. He has now become a God of Peace and Unity for the Nine Realms. An incredible character arc of redemption and building the family he could never have
Even Thor is there to respect Kratos. A truly inspiring ending. Much contrasted to the other gods. He earns the respect of great gods instead of killing them now. Still a God of gods, essentially. Albeit I love the brutal Kratos.
Seeing a strong, bad ass warrior of destruction crying just makes him even more of a bad ass in my eyes. Kratos finally found the peace he needed for so many years.

The lyrics confirms it. Kratos finally buried the Ghost of Sparta
knowing the lyrics to these incredible songs makes them hit so much harder.

The impactful mid-song advertisement adds a level of depth to both Kratos and Atreus that cannot be described.
