The dipstick in the Ford Escape looked like it had an engine oil/coolant milkshake on it.
I know nothing about cars just get in and drive but now I've learnt heaps and will keep learning of you Awesome
Definitely my kind of videos, reminds me when i worked at a chrysler dealership for a couple of years. Remember fixing a lot of wiring issues with the electric slide doors and when the "new" town and country were introduced in 2007/8? the course leader showed us the only difference in the v6 gas engine was they got the electronic throttle housing :) in 2007!
Good work Andy, keepin it real 👍
Bare hands with a clean long sleeve.
Zinc is what kept these old clunkers running. It’s not in 10w30 or 5w 30 only 15/40 and 20/50
Why’s he remind me of a Temu Theo von….
Does the oil burn your hands? I like you you cleaned the oil up afterwards.
Not really but I'm used to it by now
How did you find your customers?
One of them was my own vehicle the others were a friend of mine and my brothers.
@@Andys_Auto that’s how you start! Great job!
Never use 5w30. Hear those valves ticking? 15/40 is way better. And it has zinc which older 90s cars need. My Jeep has 276,342 miles on it original motor and trans. Been a mechanic for 25 years look up zinc in oil you will be surprised
If you're doing an oil change on a customer's car you're going to use what the factory recommends.
Zinc is not as prevalent in oil as it once was because the tolerances have changed along with overhead cams, etc(zinc mainly protects the cam and lifters in a pushrod engine) have reduced the wear factor in modern engines so larger quantities of zinc are not necessary. Valvoline VR1 has Zddp in it..but running diesel truck oil isn't great either, it creates resistance if the engine is designed for a thin oil.
How much money did you make this day from those 3 oil changes?
This day wasn't a normal day. One of the oil changes cost me $25 because it was my own vehicle. Another one was my brother's he bought the parts and I did it for him for free because he watches my kids all the time. The last one was a friend of mine and I charged him $40 and he bought the parts. So the short answer is I made $15 in profit lol. But like I said that's obviously not a normal day. Can't make a living on that lol
Where do you disposed the old oil at ?
Most auto parts stores take it for free and have a big company come pick it up and they dispose of it properly
