Hey Kit Thank you for taking the time to put this tutorial together. For the viewers to note, that The time is takes to make a video and the repair, at a minimum, doubles the time it takes to complete the repair. Kit, I truly appreciate walking us through this repair. Thank you again for all your expertise and hard work.
Thank you for this GREAT video (parts 1 and 2) on replacing the oil cooler on Chrysler 3.6. Your explanation is thorough, clear and right on point. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Love your videos and love how detailed you are step by step in your videos. Thank you for making this, My wife's van has this problem. Now I can fix it. Thank you
Wonderful job with this video my man! I just ordered the new part and will be doing my own repair when it arrives. 55 yo widow. But to be fair, my late husband and I owned a repair shop for 20 years. That's why I refuse to pay modern $140 an hour labor at shops these days. I was at $85/hr when I had my shop. This repair is all nuts and bolts, nothing too technical, I ain't skird!!!
Good day Sir! l really enjoyed your videos they're always helpful and the most think l like is the way you explain every procedure you carry out.. thank you my big brother
Great video. Helped me figure out and replace the same thing on our 2014 T&C. Only thing I want expecting was the constant coolant flow into the valley. Looks like you were able to keep it dry. That wasn’t my case. Not sure if I missed something or not but we were able to deal with it.
clamps not factory shes been through this before. seems like its time for the all aluminum design for her. im wondering how to extract a stripped E8. i guess its time to buy a set of inverted torx sockets.
Mine came off with a 1/4 inch 6 point socket. Is that what you stripped yours with? I did end up buying an E8 for the reassembly just out of an abundance of caution for the torque wrench reading.
@@MoneyManHolmes yes. 6 point stripped mine. The E8 got it off. The torque spec is much lower for re-assembly. You have the right tool for next time lol. Literally the worst place to strip a bolt.
That pressure sensor was hard to access. Tab was on the underside. Removed the housing and turned upside down to press the stupid tab. Thanks for your video!
Great video. I highly suggest the all aluminum oil cooler. On Amazon for about $65.00. The OEM is plastic and cracks. Advanced Auto wants $308. for this same part.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair thank u so much. We have 2017 dodge Caravan, bought the cooler from the dealer without the sensor and the rubber O ring looks like a triangular Oval shape except the big one , comes with the info that need to change the black o ring to a red o ring from 2014 thru 2021 Application.
This is an excellent video. Every step is explained and the visuals are clear and detailed. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to bring this to us. I am confident after watching this that I can do this job on my 2012 Chrysler Town and Country.
Good vídeo!?? But my question is why replace the oil cooler housing?? I if not broken !,? Why not to replace all seals and put everything back?? Thanks
I think this is a common issue with these. I have a 2014 T&C and it happened on mine and two others i know of. It cost nearly $1000 for this job and i can see why.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Nope just move the lower intake out of your way, I have broken those fuel line connectors as rheynget brittle. Good video.
I guess the various models are built slightly differently, but mine had a long and flexible enough fuel line that I could just move the lower intake to the side with the fuel feed line still connected.
It's Literally a Catch Pan to Catch the oil or coolant leak so you drive around not knowing about it until they are doing your "Complimentary 5 year plug replacement" and oops we noticed while your car was torn apart that you have a oil leak 😒so now you have to pay whatever amount they say to get your vehicle back... Planned Obsolescence... 🤨
This video and your part 2 are easily the best tutorial videos I've ever seen on TH-cam.
@rbjr7469 Thank you!

@juliopereira3342 My Pleasure! these cooler housing crack sometimes, so it's better to replace it to avoid a comeback!
Damn fine video on this job. Thank you sir!
@KevinReinartz My Pleasure! Thanks
I am curious, why did you replace the oil cooler and not just the mounting o-rings that were worn out?
@jacoboliver1129 they usually crack
What process did you use to clean up the intake surfaces?
@tmyers87 parts cleaner and fine sand paper!
Great tutorial, thank you very much 👍👍
@raulgrajeda489 My Pleasure!
Am I supposed to drain the oil or Coolant before I start this process?
@thebluenowhere2001 Yes!
Just the coolant, but change the oil after anyway
Drain like a quarter to half of the coolant so the water line is below the part you are removing. Just know that it will still make a mess.
What would happen if you apply RTV at O-rings so the seal is stronger and hopefully last longer?
@tommason5689 No don't do it, RTV would cause the O-Ring to swell and then leak
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Really? I did the job today and I did not dare to do it. Good thing I did not. Thanks for the reply!
How much does a fix like this cost at mechanic?

The fuel line doesn't have to be disconnected.
@papabits5721 really? do you remove the injector rails from the lower intake? I guess there are several ways of doing it!
