It really makes a difference on how clean your dishes, get, too. I'll have to do a video of how to clean the bathtub drain. THAT is a really gross thing to leave for to long, too.
You're right, a lot of people don't know this is something to clean, I didn't! I moved into my first home with a dishwasher at the age of 40 and the only reason I thought to take it apart was because the previous residents never cleaned it out so it looked like it needed some attention.
