First, I love your channel. Stay Passionate!! But I do have two points to make: 1. The foam that activates when wet is designed to pull out oils. Perfect to start the cleaning process of this rug. 2: The dry detergent that you did use early on must be activated with water as well, that is why it didn't do anything but smear into the oil. Oil and water don't mix, as your first splash so clearly indicated.

What in the world happened to that rug to have so much oil down in the fibers? I can’t even imagine. You do quality work and the rug was like new when done. Be proud of yourself!
This looks like a rug for a child’s bedroom not the oil pit for an oil changing place. I can’t believe it was cheaper to pay this man for many many hours worth of work than to buy a new rug
A man will use a piece of cardboard to change oil on top of. You'd be surprised.😊 That rug could have very well been used. Men don't care about aesthetics if its going to get dirty anyway. I am curious to know how this rug was used nonetheless 😅😅😅 it seems like it might have been in sediment for a while. Flood damage type thing.
It could be a sentimental piece. Maybe the mechanics father used it as a placemat and so now the son/etc is using it and wants it cleaned to relocate it. Men aren't very particular about aesthetics for certain things. Would I use a $200 rug in my shop? Probably not but not because of its looks but bc a $5 piece of cardboard will get the job done too but a $30 rug would be far more comfortable.
I expect the money is in the TH-cam ad revenue. If he can call it the worst he’s seen then maybe it goes viral. If it’s a vibrant, cute pattern at the end then the transformation makes for a better comparison in a thumbnail. In other genres, like knife and gun restoration videos there are many cases of the creators rusting or making the item dirty themselves so they can select one that will make for a good video

What is the fiber content of that rug? How could anything get that dirty under normal use? Was it a victim of some natural disaster? Some rug abused intentionally? WHATEVER the answers, I didn't think it could possibly come completely clean! AMAZING JOB!!
Lol, I've been checking the comments looking to see if anyone thought he pretended the rug came out that beautiful. But actually, he did a fake final wash before saturating it with dirt and oil. Then, he just made it seem clean after he couldn't get it all out...
Amazing job, and it looks like it was a workout also. Hopefully, the next order with oil on it will not be as long a process to restore. That rug was like an onion, layer after layer. Just when you think there can’t be anymore dirt in this rug…boom more dirt!
Amazing!! I thought it was purple all this time and it turns out to be pink! Its beautiful!
I cannot believe people would let something like this happen to something they may or may not care about. Your hard work paid off and returned the cuteness and beauty. Thank-you
I have cleaned a runner that was saturated with oil and grime, I used vegetable oil and sugar and after the oil broke I used soap and vinegar and after about 15 washes just soap and water then lots of rinsing and it was a gold and black rug very pretty and the owner paid me $250.00
🤔 sugar? I had not heard of that, please please tell me what does it do? I'm always always looking for something new! 👂👂👂👂!!!
@@pkaboo7832 well the oil softens grease and the sugar while coarse enough to scrub and attract dirt melts away easily with the rinsing. I learned this in grade 6 home economics in about 1970
Why didn’t he hang it up to spray it so he could get both sides. Instead of it laying in dirt while he sprayed it
@@steveanderson2852for ease of filming & to create longer content/make it look harder than it needs to be I reckon. Same reason they stop rinsing before the water fully runs clear, got to let it soak the dirt back up to clean it some more! At this point I'm starting to think these videos are less about actually cleaning things and more just catering to a very specific fetish.
This was just miraculous. I love the way you persevere and keep going. I find it so lovely to see how at first you see something like curvy lines then as you keep going things start to emerge and you keep guessing as to what the picture is going be in the end. Wow!! what a carpet and what a marvelous carpet cleaner you are. I wonder how it got in that mess to start off with. Top marks for you.
Wow! I sure hope that carpet was worth the cleaning bill!! Great job!
Pretty sure I saw an almost identical one at home depot for like $40
@@robertchristoph9319he bought it at Home Depot for $40 and destroyed it, then made thousands for cleaning it in a TH-cam video. No one would pay someone 6 days labor to clean an obviously non sentimental rug. If someone aside from this guy in the video owned it, they obviously couldn’t have cared less about it.
We live in a world where we just throw everything away. Most people don’t even know how to mend clothes anymore. Yes it took a lot of work to clean and salvage this rug but now it can be used again. What an awesome job
You did an amazing job in cleaning, I mean really cleaning that filthy rug my brother. You are a FIRST CLASS CARPET AND RUG CLEANER. I salute you my Brother.
I use Dawn dish soap for scrubbing automotive oil clothes. It works the best. The only thing that just has to wear out is automotive grease. Dawn helps, but then it just takes time and wear. I wouldn't use gasoline because I can't get gasoline to actually come out. It still stinks afterwards.
What a transformation! Excellent job! A definite challenge.
I’ve never seen a carpet fight so hard in my life!!! Ha!!
😅😂😂😂😂😂❤🎉 me either.
Maybe the beautiful silk one in the sewage spill that was the first video I saw... this one looks like it came from a favorite daughter's room or his wife's ... and the man who used it to catch oil didn't want to catch what his daughter or, wife would throw at him if she saw it in such a state... 🤔
I never thought it would come clean... this looks like new!! ✨️💖🪄💕🙏👌
😂😂😂
What a beautiful job you did. I can't believe the amount of filth you removed from that rug! You are a rug-cleaning
genius!
You deserve a trophy for getting this so clean. How could someone put motor oil on a beautiful rug? I can’t imagine what the inside of their house looks like.
Wow! A true testament of how good you are! Great job 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I get a perverse thrill when he scapes and washes the dirt away from around the rug and it’s a clean ( semi clean) surface for a bit 😊
Perverse?
@@wendyhorn8376 lol, that was a joke cuz I’m surprised I’m even watching rugs being washed. But it’s like after you do housework and everything is clean, it’s a great feeling 😊
It seems to me that it may have been cheaper to buy a new rug than to pay someone to clean it. Especially when it took six days to clean it. Although, I can understand wanting to keep it for sentimental reasons, but I guess if you kept it for sentimental reasons you wouldn’t have let it get so dirty. 🤷🏻♀️
Lol😂😂😂😂😂 that's right!
I don't know why but these are absolutely addicting!
Holy cow what a transformation. I did not think it would ever come clean.
That rug is beautiful! Wow…did not see that coming…at one point I thought you uncovered Asian letters but turned out to be butterfly, just wow!
I think he knows they don't mix..
@@Telvanni. I know he does, i was making a point. He clearly DOES NOT know the proper use for some of the chemicals that he uses.
And I wasn't going to say it, but since you replied as such, i'm going to point out that in the point where the screen goes black and it says "I do'nt remember how many days later" the rug was drastically cleaner after the cut. I would say he took it to another cleaner, who used the absorbent foam....
Everyone knows that water and oil don't mix
@@richardtaylor582I think he spent those days working on the carpet himself. And if you have a thought that you shouldn't say something.... please take that as a sign ...and please don't say it.
@@bizzithegamermom thanks mom!!! will you spank me now???
also, I never had a thought not to type what I did, you pulled that out your self indulgent arse
I'm intrigued! - How does a rug get that dirty? and is it worth the time effort and water to clean it?
I gasped out loud when I saw the colours coming up.I just love it.
You are an artist at what you do! Restoration is a beautiful gift that you give to others. Just like dirty old rugs, if people can see past the yuck …. There is a world of beauty in people who are wounded, vulnerable and forgotten. Your patience teaches us all to believe in possibilities. Bless you. Thank you
I would love this job in that workshop, it’s the equivalent to how much some folks love the spot squeezing channels. My god this really the worst. Well done that man ❤
When i see you drop to hands and knees to clean that rug 😩 I pray you were paid handsomely because my gawd 😭😭😭
👍🏾🤩👍🏾
Finally the Bright colors showed up 🎉🎉🎉 that was epic.. great video ❤❤❤
After seening this video I will stop crying about how difficult my job can be. I would have gave up day 2. Bravo to you - your a master at your Kung fu.
Perseverance...well done! I was a commercial rug designer years ago. My question though is was this a custom wool rug? The cleaning cost would be more than the value of the rug if not.
When the gasoline came out I thought you were giving up and burning it 😂
came to mind😂😂
What a waste of water and resources!
@@dianeferguson1074 the rug is clean, the water gets recycled back through the system, and this is how he makes a living. How exactly is it a waste? Water’s not a “one use and done” resource.
@@dianeferguson1074 Like you said it's a resource, Resources are meant to be used. Great job on the rug
@@fayesponges Good luck separating the gasoline from the water
Jamás pensé que debajo de toda esa masa negra se escondían unos colores tan preciosos. Increible el trabajo que has hecho con esta alfombra
Maybe try Dawn dish soap
I said the same about hung!!👍🏻
@@deborahjeanmoss7400hung?
I was thinking the same thing
Less toxicity! Dawn would have got it done!
I was thinking the same thing. They use Down to take oil off birds that have been trapped in spills
I cannot imagine a rug with butterflies being worth this sort of cleaning-- but it sure is therapeutic to watch and so satisfying to see how effective your method is.
The beautiful outline of the butterflies as your cleaning is magnificent!! I can't look away!
I wasn't sure that you would have any rug left, especially around the edges, great job, you get a gold star for hanging in there
it looks like it has been on the floor of a commercial heavy goods garage for ten years,😂 congratulations on such a fantastic result😊
Thank you for lining the rugs up with the grout lines. I'm sure that the OCD'S among us really appreciate that. ;-)
😂 Yup!
Most definitely.
Beautiful!! Every time i thought the dirt was gone, there was more. Time consuming, but your efforts paid off in a testament to your facing a really tough challenge!! Well done!!
I was SHOCKED to see you use gasoline and clean like you were using plain water. You sir, truly know your business! That was amazing!
Nettoyer ce tapis était un véritable challenge, vous avez réussi, très beau travail 👍👍👍
this is crazy!!! amazing job getting it clean. thank god you didn’t give up
9:06 he walks back and forth like "Oh yeah? We have ways of making you clean"
Really?did they seal it in a drum of crude oil for the last 40 yrs? I just have no words for how these rugs get the way they do. You sir are awesome! I'm always amazed!
Very satisfying to watch the hard work it takes to get these rugs so clean, but like many others how do people let them get to this state in the first place?
Your filter system for the toxic wastewater must be amazing to deal with that combination of gasoline and cleaning products.
@@beardedzeus1337 , could be right
I expect the money is in the TH-cam ad revenue.
Sometimes they want to clean the rug cause it has sentimental value.
Do you have any idea how many gallons of water was used to save this rug? And how do you know it's going to be worth the effort to salvage a rug? And I am amazed they are SO robust, never would think they could take that much cleaning - you'd think it would be easier for the owners to clean them every year?!
Great work - quite Amazing!
Loved this - and I’m so glad that you gave us an “up-close” shot at the end. That’s the cherry on the top for me…well done. 🇬🇧
Wow!!!! “BRAVO”! 👏🏽👏🏽 you’ve done an AMAZING job on this rug! Look how you made it beautiful again. ❤🦋
That had to of been frustrating. Love your determination!!!
I take my hat off to you, what a cracking job!!
With the amount of oil in that rug, he could just have thrown a match on it after the first time he gave it gasoline and it would still have taken 6 days to burn out but at least it would’ve been cheaper 😂
I’m watching cleaning carpets at 3am but wow that is a beautiful carpet. Well done. You did a fantastic job. Just one question where was this carpet kept. ❤🎉
What is the fiber content of that rug? How could anything get that dirty under normal use? Was it a victim of some natural disaster? Some rug abused intentionally? WHATEVER the answers, I didn't think it could possibly come completely clean! AMAZING JOB!!
Im almost convinced this guy bought 2 of the same rug, screwed one up completely and kept the clean one for the reveal lol!
Lol, I've been checking the comments looking to see if anyone thought he pretended the rug came out that beautiful. But actually, he did a fake final wash before saturating it with dirt and oil. Then, he just made it seem clean after he couldn't get it all out...
Totally.
You are like the Rocky Balboa of carpet cleaning....way to go champ!!
"...oil."
*heart sinks*
Amazing job, and it looks like it was a workout also. Hopefully, the next order with oil on it will not be as long a process to restore. That rug was like an onion, layer after layer. I see you used gasoline, but did anything else you put on the rug happen to be a degreaser? That usually helps me to get oil stains out of hubby's clothes. The best one I have used is called Greased Lightning solution.
Very patient chap, I'd have binned it after day 1! Hope whoever the carpet belonged to paid you well for cleaning it!
You need a mask dealing with gasolin 😮 Great job!
You should wear a mask regardless
Do people submerge these in oil slicks on purpose or something?
You should get yourself a power steamer... similar to the power water jet but a steamer. That would do the trick. I bet the cleaning cost more than the rug.
Minha nossa! Esse tapete me surpreendeu! Como estava sujo😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
Pensei...vão abrir um buraco de tanto esfregar 😂😂😂😂
Ficou lindo. Parabéns pelo grande trabalho!
Wow what a transformation, an excellent job young man, I didn’t think that was salvageable, but you proved me wrong 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome work nobody could get. This rug clean only you brother😂😂
The old priceless Persian rugs I get, but what is probably a steep price to clean something that was probably bought from Ikea seems a little nuts hah
It's from at least 1988
Not unless you love the rug and can't find a replacement. People are strange.
How on earth do these rugs get so filthy?
Usually they put it in workshop, construction site etc
Looks like it was in a flooded house or shop where mud settled in to the floor. This is much more than foot traffic.
this show is 100% fiction, ever notice the rugs never have holes or tears or loose threads? FAKE FAKE FAKE
Wow, great job!! The colors POP! I can't believe the difference--BRAVO!!
I'm hooked on these now. Very satisfying videos. Quote from Seinfeld "Most of the world is carpeted and one day, we will do the cleaning."
