Wynooche Early Apple Tree and Fruit
มุมมอง 57หลายเดือนก่อน
A delicious early apple that's disease resistant, easy to grow, and makes great pies and cobblers- you don't have to peel as the skin practically dissolves when heated. Rarely found in stores because as a thin-skinned apple it doesn't travel well (it bruises easily). But the taste is amazing. Great to grow in wetter climates, such as the pacific northwest or the coast.

How often do you wear those denim overalls each week? 😊
I've been wearing my overalls usually when I'm in the garden when it's in the 50-65 temperature range
@@BarbTalks-mu7sm I get what you’re saying! Do you wear those overalls to stay warm?
Wow you look so beautiful in those overalls barb! 😊 awesome job on this video! ☺️
Thank you! They are really comfy.
@@BarbTalks-mu7sm Your Welcome! 😊 your so cute in those overalls! ☺️
Awesome, planted recently a negronne, very excited. Great video
Awww glad you love it there too, me and my family Live on the east coast and my other side of my family lives on the west coast so we always meet up in manzanita, love it there too
What a wonderful place to gather as family. So peaceful.
I only wear Duluth Trading. I absolutely love the quality and comfort.
Wow very good thanks for sharing and now I'm your new subscriber from Canada please stay connected and have a great ❤
Thank you for subscribing!
@@BarbTalks-mu7sm your welcome
Is it okay if you have some under ripe red berries when you cook it to make jam
Hmm. I personally would just use ripe berries, but maybe another viewer has something to add here?
Does she have a website that we can order from?
You can give her a call if you like (503) 206-5071 :)
And really great to see a larger gal looking so good!
I watched your video over, over again because of your huge Negronne fig that I have never seen before. I love to buy some cuttings during your trimming season. Thank you.
Amazon had the vest top you like with a swing bottom in the model type jersey love them but they seam to be out of stock in the uk. The neck has a boat type as well they were a mix of what you were describing

I am about to order Izu persimmon tree, but I want to see opinion out there and found your video. May I ask how old is your persimmon tree? Thank you.
I purchased my tree in 2011, so I've had it for 13 years now. Hope that helps.
@@BarbTalks-mu7sm WOW... I was hoping you would say like this is 3 years old or something. LOL your Izu persimmon looks beautiful. Thank you.
Io mi taglio sempre i capelli da sola... Ma non ci metto un secolo ...per tagliare una francia😂😂😂
Hello, thats an amazing fig tree. I live right outside of Portland and I'm starting an Organic Nursery. Would you be interested in selling all the wood you cut from your Negronne this winter? I need hundreds of cuttings and no one i know has a Negronne that large in the PNW. Thank you.
I checked your handle above and don't see anything about about an organic nursery? If you contact Portland Nursery, Rain Tree Nursery, or One Green World, one of those businesses may be able to help you. Good luck :)
@BarbTalks-mu7sm yeah, this channel has nothing to do with my Nursery business. I'm actually a small wholesale Nursery that isn't open to the public. My family has been in the Nursery business for close to 50 years. Been in Boring/Sandy area my whole life. I've definitely went to those places you mentioned but no one has a Negronne and not even close to that size. If you ever trim it or need a trim, I'd love to get the refuse. I'd gladly pay you for them or trade for any Oriental tree of your choice. Thanks again.
@@HRDRZ I'd love to hear more about your nursery business. I have a sister who lives in the Sandy area - she may know of your farm/family :) What's the name of your wholesale nursery? Can you message me your info/website?
@BarbTalks-mu7sm sorry, youtube isn't sending me your replies. Our Family Farm is called "Sobella Farms." I'm sure your sister knows the sign. We are located right before you enter Sandy over by the movie theater. We don't have a website because my father is so old school. Plus I am just trying to build up my inventory before I launch my website. It'll probably be another year or so before the site is up. "My Farm" is located off of Kelso Rd between Boring and Sandy (on the Golf course side). All I have is Pinot Noir grapes and Desert King figs available so far. But I acquired 18+ different varieties of Hardy figs this year and I'm hoping to take cuttings but my 1 Negronne only has 1 or 2 possible cuttings. So if you happen to trim your fig this year. Please don't throw out your cuttings because they are like gold to me. Thank you for your time. Jesse Sobella.
@@HRDRZ Thanks for your persistence. I looked up your company, and yes I'd be interested in selling you some cuttings from my Negronne fig when I prune this winter, since you are local and can come pick them up. I've got your information and I'll contact you :)
I'd been looking into getting some Duluths for gardening so this review was really useful, thanks!
I put a wet piece of toilet paper in the sink to catch my bangs.
What a great idea! Thanks for the tip!
I didn't know that salt candles the air. I found out a few years ago that I am part Swedish and Norwegian. That Swedish horse is called a Dala horse. Farmers in the Dalarna region craved them to use as child's toy.
Congrats on our newly discovered Swedish and Norwegian heritage :) My great grandfather began carving a horse for my dad (his grandson), but my dad starting playing with it before it was finished. So along with a decorated/painted traditional Dala horse, I also have a very well-loved rough unpainted horse that I treasure.
A wonderful review, thank you! I’m just about to plant 3 of these in Hobart. How long did your tree take to grow to fruiting maturity?
Hi @sylynlam3562, it took 3- 4 years to get fruit, from my memory. I looked up Hobart online - are you from the Hobart in Australia?
Yes that’s right Barb. With our cool temperate climate I thought that the earlier Izu variety might have an easier task maturing its fruit.
I'll be your first view on this one. Actually I assumed you were going to show us the making process. Well, I subscribed on the off chance that you will someday soon. In the meantime I'll have a little rummage through your back catalogue.
Thanks! I made this back when I was in grade school by just wrapping scotch tape around and around and around until it looked like a bunny LOL. I bet you could even do this faster with a thicker tape, such as painters tape? That's one of the joys of being a kid - you don't know what you're doing, so you just fiddle around/play until something happens. I think that's how my son (now 28) got so good at figuring out computers, games, logic - he just fiddled around with various online games and then figured out all the strategies. I hope you enjoy my back catalogue of memories, foibles, and things that bring me joy.
Your video popped up in my suggested page. That's amazing!! Thank you for sharing. Take care
Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm glad you liked it.
Very cool Barb! I think we would have been friends if we met as little girls, I also loved to gather natural things and make things with them. I made little felt finger puppets adorned with feathers and leaves and things. Such fun we had!
Your finger puppets sound amazing! Thank you for sharing!
I believe the knee pockets is so you can insert their knee pads! Not sure if all their overall have pockets to insert the knee pads.
I have NO IDEA who Ed Burns is. I don't think that's my handwriting either haha..
I'm not sure who's notebook I used then. That doesn't look like Pam or Doug's drawing on the inside back cover, nor their handwriting. Maybe it was some random notebook leftover in Dad's classroom in middle school?
Fun stuff! You had a great imagination and sense of humor at such a young age😊
Thank you :) It was a fun way to be creative in the summer. And looking back, a wonderful time capsule of ads in magazines, as well as, like you said, my summer after 3rd grade sense of humor frozen in time.
Wow! So interesting. I never heard of lifestyle model.
Glad you stopped to comment :)
This was absolutely delightful!
Thank you!
How old is your Izu? I have one in a container now. Thanks
My tree Is around 15 years old.
Oh wow, thanks for letting me know. What a great tree, able to keep it that small and produce so much.
@@sheens9193 I also prune the tree each year in the early spring, to help keep it small. But it is naturally a smaller tree compared to other varieties.
this is not a negrone fig this is a brown turkey
Invasive, or non-native plants. I agree with you that I like certain ones too. I'm happy to see foxglove and forget-me-nots magically appear in my garden because they are polite. I learned my lesson with buttercups though. So pretty but they they rudely want the whole yard at the expense of anything else.
Great makeup routine. I like how you do not have a million products. Keep it simple. Realistic. You look great. The Boom stick works nicely. I think I'll purchase one for myself. Pretty lady!
Thank you! I'd love to hear what your experience is with your easy-care and simple routine.
I love Quince!
Do you have some favorite items?
Hi! Yes, I bought the washable silk maxi skirt, the washable silk puffer sleeve blouse in navy. I’m wearing them to a baby shower. I also bought the washable silk shirt dress, I love that style. I’m petite and that works well for me. I love their silk as you can tell!
You look absolutely stunning love and the clothes make your girls stand out so well too ❤❤❤
How do you prune that fig tree so that it’s so bushy and prolific?
I cut it back each year to keep it smaller. The new growth comes out and fills it out in the more bushy style. Since the spot I have my fig in is a small space next to the porch, I prune it kind of like an espalier so that it's wider than it is deep. I think this allows the sunshine to better penetrate to reach the figs so they ripen better.
Hi Barb, what is the variety of your osmanthus? Thanks
Nice overalls! Overalls are so comfortable! I wear overalls everyday, mostly OshKosh!
Thanks for the reply! Thanks for the tip on OshKosh - I might give those a try, too.
I love overalls too. I called them "hook pants" when I was a kid. They're the first clothes I discovered pockets on and I love pockets especially to put my hands in. I always wear a long sleeve shirt with overalls and I like to wear with them a head bandana, a big watch with a thick black leather or black silicone strap as well as sunglasses and black leather gloves.
@@AFGSANFORD2 Your outfit description sounds so put together! Thanks for sharing.
@@BarbTalks-mu7sm awh thank you 😊. It's stuff that I like to wear with overalls.
Remember when you found the raccoon who climbed to the top of your grape arbor and was eating grapes? It was nighttime and you found it with a flashlight.
That was creepy, but also 'hey I watered those grapes and I want to eat them, not you!'
So nice of you 😊
It's nice to share with neighbors :)
I was able to do that with a large surplus of daylilies a couple of weeks ago. They had started to encroach upon my garlic. I still have plenty of both. I love food plants that come back year after year..
How do you get your garlic to come back each year? I planted elephant garlic years ago, and it didn't come back up the following year. I don't know what happened to it. So I've been hesitant to plant garlic again.
@@BarbTalks-mu7sm gosh, I don't know. It was growing here when I bought the house. I didn't harvest it for several years because I thought it was flowers. They do have flowers. So now there's a nice patch growing. I think it's regular, not the giant variety.
You and your family look great! Your personality really was felt through the photos! My son worked for Ford in Miami Beach for a few seasons. He was used mostly as a fitness male model.
How fun for your son! I'm so glad our kids (and yours) had a chance to work in this industry. In the Portland area where I'm from, I think there used to be an agency that exclusively represented fitness models. I think it's great that there are different agencies that specialize in different sizes/shapes/abilities.
Interesting ;)
I cannot recall what links I clicked, to get to this video, but it's one of the most relaxing videos I've watched forever and ever
Thank you :)
Hi Barb. By eny chance could reach some scionwood cutting or seeds to Romania ? I am trying to test different varieties fro hardiness zone 6 .Thanks
I'm sorry, I'm not able to do that. But you might want to get ahold of Raintree Nursery or One Green World nursery. I can't remember which, but one of them has researchers who partner with gardeners around the world.
Yaaay! Your happiness gives me happiness ❤❤❤❤
You are who you are and why change ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for your comment, Julian Porter.
I love living in a very walkable neighborhood 🎉
I'm so glad you are enjoying your walkable neighborhood!
Barb, I like the way you talk. YES. Like this recipe. Easy and does look delicious. Thank your for sharing. Looking forwared to more of your BREAD recipes. Aria
Glad you enjoyed it, Aria :)
I need a full shade berry producing shrub! I wonder if it'll grow in Arkansas...
You might want to check with your local plant nursery(ies) or your area horticultural society. A quick online search I found a person that may be able to help you, a master gardener at the university ahsgardening.org/about-us/news-press/region/ar/
Barb! So fun to watch this! I told Doug and he didn’t realize you had the recipe. I’m sure it was delicious! Carry on Scooby Doo ❤️ (I laughed out loud at that part)
It was so good! Between Chris and I we eat it up in less than 2 days. How long does it take for you and Doug to eat a loaf?
