    I just did this myself! it worked ! thank you for the video! Don't forget to put the gasket on! I fumbled that and realized my mistake when I had a leak! After that, the dishwasher worked like a charm!

    THANK YOU!! Hey man, thanks... My dishwasher was not draining, so I followed your steps. Luckily I was able to solve it at the garbage disposal. I unhooked the hose and it was clogged where the pipe meets the disposal. I cleared out the clog and runs like a champ again! You're the man!!!

    Had this problem. The drain line went up to a vent that sits on the counter, then a hose ran from vent to the sink waste line. The blockage was at the vent connection on the top of the counter. I have no idea why they put a vent on a dishwasher drain line, I have lived in several different places and installed a few dishwashers and never seen one before. Tried to blow air thru the waste line from the dishwasher but no flow. Didn't want to disassemble the entre line (weaved its way thru under sink) so I took a wet vac and put suction on the line. Bingo a wad of junk came out and now I could easily blow air thru waste line.
    All works good now. Before I saw this video I assumed it was the drain pump on the dishwasher so I had scheduled a repair with a local company. The repair estimate was around $300+ to replace pump. Thanks for the video.

      the air vent is used to stop sink water from going back into the dishwasher. it stops back flow by having an air disconnect.

      Islands have vents too, and it drained before the city services went haywire, and the 'third party contractors' put it back. Reckon them are the same people that bolted that seat down, with the bolts they was supposed to put in the window vent? Listen, they have better things to do than be responsible. 😊

    Had to unclog mine a couple of days ago. I couldn't hear the pump, so I guessed it must have a jam at the impeller. Easy fix? Unpopped the spray bar & filter screens to access the sump, I can't get to the impeller from the top., so i used an aquavac to remove the water, concentrating at the impeller entrance & managed to suck the item jamming it. It worked fine. Found that it may have been a small bit of bone or egg shell that got past the filter screen.

    This really helped me out! Nicely done-nicely explained. Found 5 freezie pop plastic ends in the input and discharge pump. The only thing that wasn't clear in the video was how to disconnect the electrical part from the pump. I was able to leave it dangle while I fished out the plastic pieces with a needle nose pliers and a long tweezer. Also had a lot of gunk built up at the point where the discharge tube connects to the disposal.

    I tried to blow into the drain line and could not but when I sucked on the line, I was able to syphon out all the water from the dishwasher. I think the drain line has a one way valve cause when i disconnected the line from the drain pump, and blew into it, I was able to blow water out of the hose b ut when I sucked from the pump side, I could not suck through the line

      @@vickimoore7646 Oh I see, at least it does still drain for you when you push the button, but yes it'd be great to know why you need to do the extra step.
      I know that regarding my situation; I typically hand wash my dishes but I use the dishwasher to drain/dry them (with the door open and not turned open). So that's typically why I have standing water in the bottom. But again, luckily I just hit the cancel button and drain it completely.
      Of course once in awhile I clean/disinfectant by running a load of dishes or even empty with baking soda OR vinegar

      th-cam.com/video/dGbc219N_jM/w-d-xo.html
      Clearly that was not the issue with the dishwasher 4 years later.

    • @user-uk7jl4fk8k
      @user-uk7jl4fk8k 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@burrheadjr clearly it was you can see it in the bowl and the check valve is your problem for sure the reason you can’t blow through the hose is because of the valve you should be easily able to blow through that’s why water goes in than when it tries to come out it won’t because the valve shuts, so you not being able to blow through that hose in the first minute and doing all that extra work shows you don’t know a thing. And also considering there’s a shit ton of food in there shows you don’t know much a dishwasher just sanitizes it not cleans otherwise you are just baking the shit out of the food onto your plates and dishes that’s why they have never been a source of “cleaning” them just a source to sanitize them on high heat

    • @burrheadjr
      @burrheadjr  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-uk7jl4fk8k As pointed out in several comments in here, the reason I can't blow into it, is because this dishwasher has a 1 way flow valve built into it, so things can go out, but not in. The round thing in the dishwasher was already in the dishwasher, and is silver in color, and is the size of 2 kernels of corn. The punch-out on the garbage disposal is black and is quite a bit larger than a quarter. It wouldn't even make sense for it to be the punch out of the garbage disposal. If it was, the dishwasher couldn't have worked for the 4 years prior without access to the garbage disposal. It would also mean that it would have worked it's way backward against the exit flow of the dishwasher, up and against gravity and work its way backwards. It would also mean that I would have to have put the garbage disposal punch out back in somehow after clearly removing it in the video I linked from 5 years ago.

    • @user-uk7jl4fk8k
      @user-uk7jl4fk8k 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@burrheadjr yes it can just randomly stop working that’s why I said your not actually certified for diagnosing these as pointed out and blowing through the end you took off is the one way valve so yes it would still be able to blow OUTWARD your diagnosis is shit and you just proved it. If you blew through the disposal side of course it won’t ever work but being a one way valve the way you blew would have for sure blown air through it 😂😂😂
